#ItinerarySharing #100 Ways to Travel
Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands, is often chosen as the starting and ending point for European cross-border travel because of its direct flights. This free trip to Spain is based on Amsterdam as the entrance, and a 3-day, 2-night city tour is planned. After the trip, we will fly to Barcelona, Spain.
Day 1: Taoyuan-Amsterdam-Walking in the city-Windmill Village
Day 2: One-day tour of Giethoorn-Dinner in Amsterdam
Day 3: Canal Flower Market-Central Pier-Barcelona
[Must-see attractions]
1. #Zaanse Schans: The windmill village closest to Amsterdam. Take the train from Amsterdam Central Station and it takes 20 minutes to arrive. Then walk along the river bank for 15 minutes to see the colorful and cute windmills. In addition to windmills, there are also Dutch specialties such as cheese and wooden shoes, which are really fun to take pictures, visit and buy, and are very suitable for a half-day trip.
2. #羊角村 Giethoorn: This fairytale town, known as the Dutch version of Venice, is filled with simple pastoral scenery. Rivers run through it, and residents rely on boats to get in and out. When you come here, you must experience a boat ride or a walk along the crisscrossing riverbanks. It is very pleasant and simply a paradise. Giethoorn is located in a remote area. You need to take a train from Amsterdam Central Station to Steenwijk Station, and then transfer to bus No. 70. The one-way trip takes about 2.5 hours, so joining a one-day tour group is also a good choice.
3. #水坝广场Dam Square: Located in the heart of Amsterdam, Dam Square is a 5-minute walk from the Central Station. It has a variety of restaurants, cafes and well-known department stores. To the west is the magnificent Royal Palace of Amsterdam, to the south is Madame Tussauds, and to the east stands the National Monument. Take a leisurely stroll along the canal and admire the lovely Dutch-style spires along the river. The famous red-light district is also nearby.
【Must-eat food】
1. Fret Point: Located on the Old Church Canal Street, this Dutch French fry specialty store offers more than a dozen special dipping sauces, including mayonnaise, ketchup, tartar sauce, mustard sauce, curry sauce, etc. However, the most classic way to eat Dutch French fries is with mayonnaise! Very special taste, the fries are freshly fried and crispy, you can take them out to try.
2. Restaurant Vlaming: A local pub near the famous tourist attraction Anne Frank House. The service is friendly and the food is of high standard. I came here after seeing the recommendation on the Internet. It was the first time I ate pink sheep pig. The meat was so tender. It’s hard to imagine that pork can be cooked like this! The steak, risotto, salad and dessert were all very good, the lighting was beautiful and the atmosphere was great. After the meal, you could take a walk along the canal, which was nice.
3. Wagamama: An Asian restaurant in Amsterdam Central Terminal Station. After only two days of eating Western food, I couldn’t wait to try Asian food, so I chose this one nearby. I saw that there was Gua Bao on the menu! I ordered it without hesitation. Although it's not as authentic as the Taiwanese flavor and the braised pork belly isn't tasty enough, it still helps relieve my homesickness. At least the appearance is 100 points.
[Accommodation recommendation] #hotel2stay recommends staying in Sloterdijk, which is 2 stops away from the airport and 1 stop away from the central station. The transportation is very convenient and it is right on the edge of the city center. The room rate is cheaper than in the city center. However, there are many school districts and hospitals nearby, so it is relatively quiet and not as lively as the central station and the city center.
Hotel2stay offers apartment-style rooms, which are approximately 20-30 square meters in size and equipped with basic kitchen appliances and a dining table. They are very suitable for families. A double room costs approximately NT$5,000 per night, which is a good value for money.
【Photography and check-in spots】
1. #sloterdijk: The rainbow walkway outside the train station is very similar to the rainbow road in Ximending. It is very eye-catching and photogenic. I started taking photos as soon as I got out of the station. With the station as the background, standing on the rainbow walkway to check in and take photos is super fashionable and cool, guaranteed to be a great photo for the internet!
2. #Prinsensluis: Bridge 60 over the Prince's Canal. It's a great place to take photos of the canal, with bicycles and flowers as the background. Especially at night when night falls and the lights come on, the night view is even more romantic.
3. #bloemenmarkt: The beautiful canal flower market is a great place to take photos, especially during spring when the tulips are in full bloom. There are also many high-quality cheese shops here, which is a great place to buy souvenirs.
[Tips]
A must-have for traveling in Amsterdam: the GVB public transportation pass, which is available for 1-7 days and costs from NT$350-1596. It allows unlimited rides on GVB trams, buses and subways, which is very convenient.
