WW2 Military fans must go: Museum Dunkerque 1940 Operation Dynamo
#europetravel
If you love WW2 history, the Museum Dunkerque 1940 Operation Dynamo is definitely worth a visit. You will discover the complete story of the Battle of Dunkirk and of Operation Dynamo, more well-known as Dunkirk Evacuation, the evacuation of more than 300 thousand of Allied soldiers, mainly British and French soldiers, during the Second World War from the beaches and harbour of Dunkirk, in the north of France, to England (Watch the famous movie Dunkirk for more information). The Museum is not big, but it has plentiful of exhibits, displaying loads of maps, photos, weapons, uniforms, vehicles, and flags from that war to give you a hint of what happened in Dunkirk in that time, and shows how horrible the war was. #France #ww2 #dunkirk

#2024TravelReview #Dunkirk #WorldWarII#The British and French forces retreated completely. I went on a self-driving tour to Belgium and the Netherlands and started to put my head at ease, because he would arrange the next few days!
On my way to Belgium, I passed by this city - Dunkerque. I hadn't done any research and had no idea about this place. I just knew that we had to stop for lunch? After getting off the bus, it seems to be a tourist spot! It turned out that when I was a teenager, I had read history and it mentioned the Second World War. The British, French, Dutch and Belgian troops retreated here - Dunkirk in ten days from May to June 1940 to avoid greater casualties!
This can be regarded as a small review, and I am glad that self-driving tours sometimes give me some gains! Unfortunately, we were in a hurry and everyone wanted to eat some all-you-can-eat Japanese food, so we had to check in outside the Military Museum and enjoy the beach. But the most valuable thing was witnessing a monument built after the war to commemorate the great retreat and the soldiers who died heroically!

🇫🇷Dunkirk Dining on Historic Ship
The "Dunkirk Princess Elizabeth" is a small steamship that played a key role in the Dunkirk evacuation (Operation Dynamo) during World War II. The ship was a steam-powered passenger ship built in 1927, originally used by the Southern Railway to transport passengers between the English Channel city of Southampton and the Isle of Wight (IoW).
However, in 1940, when the Dunkirk evacuation began and the Royal Navy requisitioned civilian ships to solve the shortage of warships, the "Princess Elizabeth" also took part in the operation. The ship was used to rescue approximately 330,000 British and French soldiers stranded on the beaches of Dunkirk.
The ship was converted into a restaurant. Taste French cuisine in a historic location
