Guiyang, Qingyan Ancient Town.
Qingyan ancient Town is a 45 minute drive from the city, and a 15minute drive from Tianhetan. I highly recommend that you do these two places on the same day since they are both far out of the city but close to each other.
To get there, you can get a taxi/Didi. This will take +-45mins depending on weather conditions and traffic. Make sure you have your green codes prepared in order to gain entry.
Attractions - the ancient Town is similar to most ancient towns around China. It does have a few distinct qualities differentiating it from others around the country. Attractions here are the wall, the buildings, the environment and interesting architecture all around.
Hotels - I didn't see any hotels near here but drive 15more minutes and you will find hotels near Tianhetan.
Food & Restaurants - there are plenty of food stalls, the entire Ancient Town is one giant food attraction.
Shopping - there are plenty of stores to shop local clothing and souvenirs.

Guizhou - Qingyan Ancient Town
Qingyan Ancient Town, one of the most famous historical and cultural towns in Guizhou, was an extremely memorable and pleasant experience.
It’s incredibly easy to get to. I took a taxi from Guiyang, it took just under an hour and cost 80rmb. If you prefer, you could also take bus 203 or 210. My ticket cost 60rmb and I spent about 4 hours at the site.
The town itself is breathtakingly beautiful. A spectacular city wall encases the town which you are free to walk upon. This provides wonderful views and photo opportunities. The ancient architecture is wonderful with different temples, courtyards, gates and walls to visit. The streets are alive and bustling with an enormous variety of local vendors selling street food, local delicacies, clothing, instruments and much more. As well as the street food vendors there are lots of restaurants so you will not go hungry here!

I stayed in a villa in Qingyan Ancient Town.
😱 I was just staying in a hotel, but suddenly I was staying in a detached villa. Who wouldn't love this? ~✨
Every room is a villa, and each floor has a separate super large balcony. The environment is great, and the view is really unbeatable. You can enjoy the scenery of the ancient town from the balcony. ~😍
A family or a group of friends can come here to have a party, team building, or barbecue. The privacy is very high, so you don't have to worry about being disturbed or disturbing others. You can have a great time. ~🎉
The hotel service is very thoughtful, and the staff provides smiling service throughout the whole process. When checking in, they offer a washed fruit plate and patiently confirm the breakfast delivery time for the next day. The local beef and mutton noodles in the breakfast are really delicious. ~😋
It takes only 15 minutes to walk to Qingyan Ancient Town, which has a history of over 600 years. You can appreciate the profound cultural and historical heritage and experience the charm of regional characteristics. ~🤩

October 5th, check in Qingyan Ancient Town.
After visiting Jiaxiu Tower in Guiyang city center, I originally planned to visit Qianling Park to see pandas and monkeys. However, the navigation led me to the East Gate, where there was no parking space. After being stuck there for 30 minutes, I decided to head to Qingyan Ancient Town instead. Qingyan Ancient Town has many parking spaces, but you need to walk a few hundred meters. Upon arriving at the ancient town, I was greeted by a bustling crowd and a lively atmosphere. There were also many snacks available along the streets. For CNY 9 on Trip.com, I bought a ticket to enter the scenic area. We entered from the South Gate, where there were many shops renting ethnic costumes, perfect for taking photos. Food recommendations: Zhuangyuan Hoof and Rose Ice Jelly, both delicious.

Travel back to the Ming and Qing Dynasties at Qingyan Ancient Town.
Qingyan Ancient Town is located in Huaxi District, Guiyang City, Guizhou Province. It is a historic ancient town known for its unique architectural style, rich cultural heritage, and delicious local snacks. Beijie, Wenchang Pavilion, Dingguangmen City Tower, and Mingqing Street are must-see attractions.
Beijie is the oldest stone street in Qingyan Ancient Town. The bluestone slabs on the road and the stone bricks on the walls have been washed for hundreds of years.
Wenchang Pavilion was built during the Ming Dynasty and rebuilt during the Qianlong period. It is a brick-wood structure built on the mountain and was once a place where scholars often read and gathered.
Climbing up to Dingguangmen City Tower (South Gate), you can overlook Dingguang Lake and the entire Qingyan Ancient Town, with a very good view.
Mingqing Street is the center of Qingyan Ancient Town. There are four main streets in the southeast, northwest, and there are many pavilions, towers, temples, and courtyards in it, which are worth savoring.
The stone roads, ancient city walls, ancient temples, and ancient houses in Qingyan Ancient Town all reveal a strong historical atmosphere, as if people have traveled back to the Ming and Qing Dynasties.

Qingyan Ancient Town is a building with a deep historical background. Climbing a hillside not too high on the side of the town can give a bird's-eye view of the whole town. Nowadays, because of its long history and strong cultural atmosphere, Qingyan Ancient Town has become an attractive destination for numerous domestic and foreign tourists. Qingyan Ancient Town, together with Zhenyuan, Bing'an, and Longli, is considered one of the top four old towns in Guizhou. Established in 1378 by Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang, the first emperor of China's Ming Dynasty (1358–1644), Qingyan was historically a key military fortress and trade hub.
Qingyan is also noted for its rich religious culture. Taoism, Buddhism, Catholicism, and Christianity coexist in ways rarely seen in China. The round, domed churches and aged temples impart distinctive charm to the small town.
The magnificent city walls divide Qingyan into inner and outer towns, with four giant gates facing different directions.
