Transportation: Night bus (There are several buses from HCM to Phan Rang - Ninh Thuan/ Vinh Hy Bay) which costs about 15-25$ for return fair depend on the time and season Hotel: We stay at homestay but you can stay in beautiful resorts with reasonal price. For me the accomodation costs abt 20$ per night. We rented the scooter from the homestay and travelled easily around, just 5$ plus fuel 5$ for 3 days. Food: Seafood is cheap, fresh, delicious. you may check gg map to see the review and places nearby or ask the hotel receptionist. For 3 days, it costs us around 40$ for eating and drinking. Dont forget to drink sugarcane here as you will feel thirsty a lot under the sunshine while travelling. D1: Arrivel earlier around 4am so we slept temporarily in a room at homestay. After breakfast, we visited Phan Rang- Thap Cham, a tower of Cham people. Then a Kim Son Tu, from here you will have a beautiful view of the city and beach. Afternoon to the wind power farm and Hon Thien Mural Village (You can kayak here and wandering around). Nothing too much special but we enjoyed the relaxing time to see around here. D2: Vinh Hy Bay - a beautiful coastal road and beach, buying canoe ticket (200k/person for return) to Turtle Island for pictures, swimming, Sup. Later to have lunch at Doai restaurant, a veg restaurant near O Lo stream, really recommend with the view and vibe here. a bit difficult to reach there but it worths it. After lunch we headed to Ninh Thuan Stone Park. 40k for entrance ticket. For bike, you can go toward the final spot, but if you go by car you will have to walk a while. Here just enjoy the breathtaking view and climb around as a small hike if you like and have time. D3: Mui Dinh lighthouse with amazing sandy beach of Bai Trang. And then Hon Do for sunset before going back to Ho Chi Minh in the evening Total is about 100-110$ for the trip, a perfect place for weekend getaway from Ho Chi Minh city.

One of the most unique and impressive things about this free Nha Trang trip was the ‘Phan Rang Desert Tour’. It is the only desert area in Vietnam, about 2 and a half hours away from Nha Trang. The rare red sand dunes and cactus scenery made me feel like I was in another country. Group tour? Why it was better I participated in a group tour of about 16 people, but at first I was worried that a private tour or small tour would be better. However, after going there, I realized that the group tour was actually a more efficient and fun choice. 1. It was very convenient to get around: It is quite a distance from downtown Nha Trang to Phan Rang, but I was able to travel comfortably on a large bus with good air conditioning, and the driver and guide took good care of rest areas along the way. 2. The local guide’s explanation was informative: Maybe because it was a group tour, a professional guide accompanied us, and the explanation of the history and culture of the desert and Phan Rang was informative and fun. It was not just a simple scenic tour, but a meaningful experience. 3. They give you the best photo spots: They gave you the exact photo spots, such as the timing of the sunset and the location of the sand dunes, so it was great for taking great shots. If you only have 2 days and 1 night outside of Vung Tau and Mui Ne, you can also go to PHAN RANG - VINH HY. ✈️ TRAVEL 1. Passenger vans: Buses to Phan Rang will depart from Mien Dong Bus Station. Ticket prices range from 150k ~ 350k depending on whether you choose a sleeper or a room. Travel time is 6 hours. 2. Train: Depart from Saigon Station to Thap Cham Station. Ticket prices range from 230k/seat and 300~400k/sleeper. 3. Plane: Depart from Tan Son Nhat and land in Cam Ranh, then travel 60km by contracted vehicle to Phan Rang City. Our group chose to travel by An Anh bus at 9pm and arrive at 4am, getting off at Phan Rang 5-way intersection (no shuttle bus). Price 250k/sleeper with curtains. Return trip 200k/normal sleeper. 🆘 NOTE: Everyone should avoid this bus company, the trip was ok but the return trip was pushed to a fake bus (even though I had called to book a ticket in advance), the bus company's name was still on the outside but the inside of the bus was modified to add more people, and there was also a mattress added in the aisle, the bus was old and dirty and crammed, picking up passengers along the way. The bus owners cursed each other all night and then stopped the bus because the bus company did not share the fare evenly, it was a really stormy and terrible trip. 🚌 Travel from the city to tourist destinations: 1. Motorbike: 120k for manual and 150k for automatic 2. Taxi, 5-seat, 16-seat contract cars, ... The first day our group rented motorbikes at FB: Phan Rang 159 Motorbike Rental The second day to Vinh Hy was quite far so our group contracted a 16-seat car for 1.5 million. 🏡 WHERE TO STAY? My group stayed at Jolo villa Phan Rang. There are 8 bedrooms, 1 living room, 1 kitchen and a very large garden and swimming pool to hold parties. The price to rent a single room is from 600k ~ 800k. Renting the whole villa will reduce 10% The villa has a very stylish investment in architecture and interior. But one thing that is not very happy is the swimming pool. When our group arrived, the water level was very low, dirty, yellow and foamy. We complained, the receptionist said that the water had been filtered the day before, the yellow water was due to the sun 🙃. But after a while of negotiating, they also pumped more and filtered the water again. 🦀 WHAT TO EAT? - Mai Ly rice noodle soup & spring rolls - 106 Nguyen Thi Dinh, Phan Rang. 15k/spring rolls and 25k/rice noodle soup with spring rolls. - Chi Ba Seafood (food fair near Yen Ninh roundabout). The food is very fresh and cheap, 9 people only spend 1.5 million (including grilled shrimp, steamed squid, snails, crab claws, fragrant snails, cheese oysters, scallops with scallion oil, stir-fried noodles with fingernail snails, seafood fried rice) - Co Suong rice paper (near Hoan My football field). Here there are rice paper with scallion oil, egg cups, nem chua, dong suong/rau jelly. - Other specialties such as banh can, banh xeo, banh hoi long heo, ... 🚤 WHAT TO PLAY? 1. Hang Rai ~30km from the center near Vinh Hy Bay. Ticket price 20k/person. 2. Doai Vegetarian Restaurant & Coffee - Suoi Lo O, Vinh Hy Bay (located on maps) The restaurant is located on a hill, so from the stream you have to climb a rather steep section, but the road is very easy to go. It's really chill here with a view of the entire Vinh Hy Bay, you feel at peace as soon as you step into the shop. In addition to drinks, there is also a delicious vegetarian combo for 150k/portion, depending on the day, the menu will have Vietnamese or European vegetarian dishes. The room is spacious, cozy, the owner is very enthusiastic. 🚧 ITINERARY: I have 2 days here so I will try to explore the highlights 🚸 Day 1: NAM CUONG SAND DUNES - Because I arrived in Phan Rang from Nha Trang at 4 pm, I took the opportunity to go to Nam Cuong sand dunes to catch the sunset. The sand dunes are 10km from the city, just a little walk and you'll arrive - The road is very windy, everyone should be careful, especially when crossing the bridge. - When you get there, park your car for 10k at a local's house and then walk to take pictures and explore. The sand dunes here are divided into 2 yellow and white areas, adding a bit of sunset makes for beautiful photos. - In the evening, go around Phan Rang night market, I went during the fair and got to watch Lotto which was quite fun. 🚸 DAY 2: HANG RAI - VINH HY BINH TIEN ROAD - DAM NAI WIND POWER FIELD - AN HOA SHEEP FIELD - Depart from the city to Hang Rai 30km with the scorching heat. Everyone should pay attention to wear sunscreen. Don't get as dark as me - Entrance ticket to Hang Rai is 20k. Here is wild, the sea is blue and the rock formation is super beautiful. In general, just take a random photo and you will have a beautiful photo without much editing - From Hang Rai, I went to Vinh Hy Bay, it is a port. To get to the bay, I had to take a boat, so I stopped because it was noon - I moved to the sacred check-in corner. At the top of the pass, there is a small cafe, and when I saw a lot of people there, I saw - Then I followed that road to the coastal road of Vinh Hy - Binh Tien. I really couldn't believe my eyes because of the beauty before my eyes, on one side was the cliff of the pass, on the other side was the blue sea. I stopped and took photos countless times. YOU MUST GO THROUGH THIS ROAD ONCE, EVERYONE, it's so beautiful. Even though it was sunny and windy at 1pm, it was completely worth it. - Follow that road to reach National Highway 1A. On the way, you will see many wind farms next to the golden fields. But to find a good angle to take pictures, you have to pay attention to the entrance. It is on the left side of the national road in the direction you are going from QL1A to the city. Go on a few village roads for 200m and you will reach the corner that people often take pictures. From the wind farm, go another 10km to An Hoa sheep field. The road here is a bit winding, remember to check the map carefully and ask the locals. Entrance fee is 35k/person. Add a bucket of vegetables to feed the sheep for 10k - The sheep here are very cute. When they see people coming in, they run to them in a flock, throwing vegetables for them to eat as if they were wrapped up in a pile. So cute - There is also a tamarind garden full of fruit. You can snack on them and bring back a few bunches. For me, 2 days of exploring these places is enough. It is located on the same arc so it is very convenient. As for the grape garden, I saw that it was still green so I didn't go in anymore. This is my second time visiting the deserts of Vietnam. The Phan Rang Desert feels a little smaller than the Mui Ne Desert, but it has the same vast desert and open heart. Location: It is about an hour's drive from Nha Trang city, so it is recommended to visit as part of the Phan Rang Desert Tour package. Atmosphere/Facilities: Upon arriving at the Po Long Jarai Temple, the first thing you will notice is the serene and mysterious atmosphere. This was my first visit to a traditional Vietnamese temple, and the exotic scenery and architecture were both ancient and unique. The red tiles and bricks of the temple shining in the sunlight were truly beautiful. Key Points: It is recommended to visit as part of the Phan Rang Desert Tour rather than going individually. If you go individually, the entrance fee is about 20,000 VND (approximately 1,000 KRW). If you want to take the cart, it costs an additional 20,000 VND, but it is worth it as the path is steep. There are many great spots for taking photos, and it is recommended to take pictures on the stairs leading up to the temple when there are no people around.

First of all, PhanRang is like a real desert ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ The vast sand dunes are spread out, and the sand wind and... It really feels like I'm in a desert. PhanRang was the place that made me feel like I was in a desert!
