A real-life idyllic escape!
Enjoy the stunning scenery along the Yulong River, plus an Instagram-worthy infinity pool, floating afternoon tea, Trip Moments photo opportunities, and rice paddies right outside your door... It's simply perfect!
🌾 Setting
Right by the river, right by the rice paddies (not even 10 meters away!), backed by a forest, and facing the rice paddies.
A short walk takes you to the Ji Ma Wharf, surrounded by lush green fields (planted with rapeseed, wheat, and rice, but all the greenery is beautiful). It's about a 15-minute taxi ride from Yangshuo West Street. The hotel has a huge infinity pool—every photo is an instant Instagram hit! The rooftop sky mirror pool is the most amazing feature. It seems like the rice paddies really understand everyone's preferences. Both hotels have created beautiful "sky mirrors," each with its own unique style. The Shuidiaotian Resort's version leans towards a more Chinese aesthetic, with a stone path extending into the center of the water, reflecting the blue sky, white clouds, distant mountains, and the hotel's blue tiles and white walls!

🏡 Rooms: The rooms have huge bathtubs with direct mountain views, and the forest is right behind you. Taking a bath while looking out at the forest is so therapeutic! Opening the curtains in the morning reveals a vibrant scene. This morning, I was woken up by birdsong (I forgot to close the window, haha).
The amenities include bath salts and roses—the attention to detail is impeccable! The butler even prepared a welcome fruit platter in advance. So thoughtful, it almost made me cry!

🍽️ Food and Afternoon Tea: A Touch of Ceremony by the Fields
You must dine outdoors! There's a beautiful tree on the terrace, and the shade keeps you cool. You can frame the tree, mountains, and water in your photos. Check out my pictures—they're amazing!
Breakfast is a Chinese and Western buffet with Guilin rice noodles, freshly baked bread, fruit platters, and more. Sitting by the pool, eating and enjoying the view is pure bliss!
The receptionist kindly cut me a ❤️ heart-shaped watermelon slice 🍉. She's so sweet!
🚣 Nearby Activities: Bamboo Rafting and Nighttime Adventures
The hotel is super conveniently located! It's a 5-minute walk to Ji Ma Wharf. I chose the Ji Ma to Gong Nong Bridge bamboo rafting route. The 90-minute trip lets you experience bamboo rafting—and you'll even get splashed!
In the evening, I went to see the Yulong River night cruise performance. It was a bit tame for younger people, but my mom loved it (haha). It's a local specialty, so it depends on your taste. I thought it was too slow, and the island activities are more suitable for children and seniors.
📌Tips:
- Bring mosquito repellent! There are many mosquitoes by the fields.
- For rafting, choose morning or evening to avoid the scorching sun. Guangxi is really, really, really hot!
- You can rent electric scooters from the hotel to ride along the Ten Mile Gallery. It's CNY 30/day. Ignore the guy at the door who charges CNY 50. Walk a bit further and ask around (shh).
