An exhibition that invites you to confront the vacuum
In a mental vacuum, we must choose to either hide the dark side or reveal it. "The Void" is an exhibition inviting us to confront the vacuum, by artist Worat Jarusirikul.
"The Void" is interpreted by the artist as a state between existence and disappearance, similar to standing on the edge of a cliff, having to decide how to move forward. It is not simply a space of fear, but a fundamental human emotion that everyone encounters, potentially transforming into a driving force for new and unknown paths.
The artist is fascinated by the relationship between the soul, anatomy, and the mysterious darkness hidden within humans.
This work reflects a Surrealist perspective, blending reality with the logic of dreams, creating images of the unconscious, memory, and repressed things. Many of the works originate from everyday events or significant moments, reinterpreted into ambiguous images that evoke an experiential connection with the viewer.
The works in "The Void" convey an atmosphere of lingering between loss and discovery, using cool tones of purple, blue, gray, and black, creating a sense of oppression, emptiness, and hidden beauty. We see swirling lines, swaying surfaces, resembling energy, waves, or mist, which may suggest unresolved thoughts and emotions. Many of the works evoke feelings of beauty and unease, reflecting the hidden dark side of humanity that has never been explored.
