[2024 Beijing Stay] Travel Guide for San Sa Village (Updated Oct)
This is my favorite Beijing getaway town so far.
Escaping the hustle and bustle of the city on weekends and taking my child to the getaway town at the foot of the Mutianyu Great Wall in Huairou has become my first choice for a family vacation. The town is exceptionally quiet, far away from the main road, and you can't even hear cars passing by.
The town hides a top-level homestay in Beijing, low-key and atmospheric, called San Shi. The homestay is built with red bricks and glazed tiles, full of design sense, and is a world-class architectural award. The rooms in the homestay are all minimalist designs, and the unique tranquility of the town makes people relax instantly. The comfortable mattress and pillow are friendly to the cervical spine, and the whole log table is obviously expensive. The moon lamp đ in the room makes the whole room full of atmosphere.
If you are hungry at night, go to the nearby Beigao Corner for authentic hot pot, and quickly replenish your blood in the cold weather. There is also breakfast at the Tile Factory Western Restaurant, which is also very exquisite.
This town also produces chestnuts đ°, fresh and thorny, and the children have never seen it. I really like this town, next time I will definitely bring my child to climb the Great Wall, and I will come again.

Why do we choose to stay at San Sa and play at Wachangâïž
San Sa: Winner of numerous architectural awards
Wachang: Glazed tiles can be seen everywhere, a rural heritage hotel
Wachang Art Museum: A popular landmark in Huairou
.
Both Wachang and San Sa offer accommodation
đWachang is more convenient, with parking lotsđ ż, restaurants, amusement facilities, and hot springs all located in Wachang. If you have young children, or are traveling with elderly family members, or are simply too lazy to go out, Wachang is a better choice
đSan Sa is located opposite Wachang
San Sa is quieter and more suitable for those who prefer peace and quiet
.
ăAbout Accommodationă
We chose San Sa,
You can park your carđ ż outside or in Wachang, as they are part of the same company
The room is spacious, and the bed and pillows are comfortable. You can even buy the moon lamp
In addition to the bedroom, there is also a dining area,âŒïž and the amazing thing is, there is a desk where kids can study at nightđ€ (The last picture is of the desk)
I have to say, the air conditioning heating is very good. After the child takes a bathđ, the whole room will be warm in a whileđ„
đŒThere is a handpan and sheet music in the room, which matches the style of San Sa
.
ăAbout Playă
đ Wachang: đ¶Lawnđ¶Trampolineđ¶Hot springđ¶Barđ¶SPAđ¶Manicuređ¶Chess and card room
đ Wachang Art Museum: We visited the intangible cultural heritage of paper-cutting and shadow puppetry, and caught the regular art class by the teacher.
The art teacher gave the children a lot of room for imagination, and the children were full of interest in the 2.5-hour classđ
đ Both Wachang and San Sa have conference rooms and banquet halls
.
ăAbout Foodă
Both San Sa and Wachang have restaurants, but it's more convenient for the elderly and children
Vietnamese food, Western restaurant, copper pot hot pot, etc.
.
Knowing the philosophy of San Sa is very touching

Beijing San Sa Homestay.
Can't hide it anymore! A small, relaxing, and secluded village in Beijing that can be reached in 1 hour!!
Beijing has some traces of autumn, especially in the suburbs of Beijing in the evening!
$The relaxation at the foot of the mountain is not comparable to the hustle and bustle of the city. It can be reached in 1 hour by car. If the weather is good, you can see the Reclining Buddha Temple. Next door is the Mutianyu Great Wall~ The staycation at the foot of the Great Wall is quite romantic.
It's super quiet at night!!! You can hear the sound of leaves falling. It seems that not everyone likes this quietness, just like not everyone can enjoy being alone.
$Both Wachang and Sansa have lived. If Wachang is a more open holiday paradise, Sansa is more like hiding you in a secluded residence.
$Wachang's public space is larger, but the house facilities are relatively old. Sansa's fashionable design sense is beyond doubt, and the room is relatively spacious.
$Guests staying at Sansa can also go to Wachang to play at will~ It's just that it has more pure land than Wachang (Sansa is really quiet here! Sansa is suitable for solo travel or couples, and Wachang is more suitable for families with children.
$Breakfast will be eaten in the Wachang restaurant. I love their handmade roujiamo and small wontons. I eat a bowl of soup and water in the morning to warm my stomach. The early autumn sun shines on the back and it feels very comfortable and healing.

The most beautiful guesthouse under the Great Wall!
Having the most comfortable day in Beijing
Away from the hustle and bustle of the city, quietly feeling nature, the front desk uses the essential oils I usually use~ Smelling the favorite scent is especially pleasing, and the staff inside are very kind and enthusiastic
The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the ethereal drum allows one to completely relax, truly love
it
The guesthouse has a small swimming pool, which the kids love the most, running freely on the grass after swimming~
There are many delicious foods around, Thai food, hotpot, Western food... all taste very good
We chose a Thai restaurant for dinner, it closed a bit early but everything else was great. The guesthouse has a courtyard, and a small tavern where we had a few drinks with friends at night and chatted
The next day, we had lunch at a Western restaurant in the tile factory, the dishes were very delicate and tasty
The guesthouse is very close to the Mutianyu Great Wall, which was the original purpose of coming here
But it's better than expected, like this place
