2025 Seoul Travel Guide: Must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transportation routes (updated in April)
Seoul is the capital city of South Korea. The temples and palaces of this city tell a long and storied history. The magnificent natural landscape and modern skyscrapers merge together to form a city that is both young and cultured. Gyeongbokgung and Changdeokgung Palaces are ancient palaces, while Bukchon Hanok Village and Namsangol Hanok Village are well-preserved traditional Korean villages. Seoul is a shopping paradise. In Myeong-dong, Dongdaemun Market, Sinsa-dong, and Samcheong-dong, you can find all kinds of cutting-edge fashions, including clothing, jewelry, and make-up. Once night falls, Seoul is even more magnificent. Climb atop the YTN Seoul Tower to feast your eyes on the city's glittering nightscape. The Han River is the background of many beloved Korean soap operas. Seoul's delicious food is not to be missed. Bibimbap, kimchi, and Samgyetang (Korean ginseng chicken soup) are all delicious in their own right.

Don't miss it when you come to Seoul! Hidden coffee secrets in Seoul's Eunpyeong District "1 person 1 cup 1인1잔" cafe is really not to be missed
If you are like me, the most anticipated thing when traveling is to find a quiet and beautiful place like a painting, then this "1 person 1 cup 1인1잔" cafe in Eunpyeong District, Seoul is really not to be missed.
Although the location is a bit far from the city center, the view from the cafe not only allows you to see the traditional roofs of Eunpyeong Hanok Village, but also the magnificent Bukhansan Mountain in the distance.
I ordered an iced American coffee with a small dessert. It was sweet and not greasy, and it made me feel so happy. 📷
Whether you want to take beautiful photos of Korean houses or just want to find a corner to rest quietly, this place is very suitable. The seats are spacious and not crowded, the atmosphere is quiet, and many locals come here to relax on weekend afternoons.
📍Tips:
- There is a minimum consumption requirement in the store, and each person needs to order a drink;
- It is recommended to go there on a sunny day, as the mountain view will be clearer and more spectacular;
- There are fewer people in the afternoon on weekdays, so it is more suitable for leisurely enjoyment.

Seoul|The moment I walked up the slope of Hannam-dong, I was almost moved to tears. Spring allowed me to see cherry blossoms all the way 🌸
I originally just wanted to stroll leisurely in Hannam-dong, but I didn't expect that while climbing up the hill, I would accidentally walk into a dreamy cherry blossom rain.
The alleys here are irregular and have many slopes. Although it was a bit breathless to walk, just as I was wiping the sweat off my face while climbing up, a super full cherry blossom tree appeared at the corner🌸! The sun shines through the flowers, it's as beautiful as a commercial, I couldn't help but scream with joy
The charm of Hannam-dong is not just the quality selection shops and unique small cafes, but more importantly the sense of life where you can encounter surprises around corners. This "lost walk" made me realize that by not walking along the tourist streets, I can actually find the softest side of the city. Remember to wear a pair of comfortable walking shoes and save some energy for these beautiful scenery hidden high up!

Visit Seongsu-dong in Seoul and accidentally enter a Kodak clothing store where you can take retro black-and-white photos for free
While visiting Seongsu Cave, I accidentally discovered this Kodak Corner Shop hidden in an alley. I originally thought it was just a small shop selling clothes and hats, but I didn’t expect there were so many surprises hidden inside!
In addition to shopping, what attracts me most in the store is——
📷 Free retro black and white photo experience machine!
It's completely free and no appointment is required. Just press the shutter button to automatically take and print out black-and-white photos with a strong sense of nostalgia. It's a bit like the instant photos taken in photo studios in the 1980s, which really makes you want to take pictures one after another.
The image is very textured, and it is very suitable for taking personal photos with friends, couples, or by yourself.
📌 There is also an area in the store where you can DIY print T-shirts and eco-friendly bags. People who like to create things by hand will definitely love it!
The overall space is very uniquely decorated, and even the decoration is super photogenic. It is definitely the coolest store in Seongsu-dong!

Seoul | A Must-Visit for Design Enthusiasts! COOR in Seongsu-dong
During my stroll in Seongsu-dong, I stumbled upon this amazing store called COOR, and it completely blew me away.
The interior design is incredibly stylish, blending minimalism with intricate details—every corner is a feast for the eyes. From product displays to lighting and the overall ambiance, everything is thoughtfully curated to make you feel at ease.
Every item exudes quality and style, making it a joy to browse!
📍 I’ll definitely come back here next time I visit Seongsu to take my time exploring.

Seoul|Sinchon A bustling shopping district in Seoul that only students know! A complete guide to the must-visit alleys, painted walls, and alley food around Sinchon subway station🔥
Speaking of the area where the most young people gather in Seoul, besides Hongdae, I actually like the "Sinchon (신촌)" area too!
This is the junction of Yonsei University, Ewha Womans University, and Sogang University. It is very lively on weekdays and even more crowded on holidays. There are things to do and eat on the whole street when you get out of the subway station. It is very cost-effective.
About a 5-minute walk from Shinchon subway station, a whole row of colorful painted walls suddenly appeared in the alleys. The walls were painted with fairy tales, dreamy hot air balloons, and local Korean illustrations. It made people feel great. Many couples and students took photos and checked in here.
There are also many food recommendations!
- Chuncheon Spicy Fried Chicken (춘천닭갈비): Fried on the spot, super delicious, eat with cheese or instant noodles is heaven
- Alley Small Octopus Hot Pot: Very spicy, the small octopus is super fresh, and you can also add rice to make fried rice
- You can walk to Ewha Womans University shopping district in the Sinchon area, and you can also visit clothing stores
- The atmosphere is great at night, but the alleys are a little smaller, so remember to avoid the peak dining hours
- Many restaurants do not have Chinese menus, but almost everyone has shared photos on Google Maps, so ordering food is not difficult!
The new village is not only a place for students, it is also a favorite place for independent travelers like me. There is not too much commercial atmosphere, and you may find little surprises at every corner. Walking on the street is full of life. Whether you are a foodie, a hipster, or a photographer, you will love it!

Seoul|A secret cherry blossom spot hidden next to KBS! Walking on this road is like falling into a Korean drama scene
This time when I came to Seoul to enjoy the cherry blossoms, I unexpectedly discovered a super dreamy path - right next to KBS Hall! It is not a popular cherry blossom viewing spot, but it is quietly filled with cherry blossoms. The moment you walk in, you really feel like you are walking into a Korean drama, especially when the wind blows and the petals fall, it is so beautiful that you can't help but slow down your pace.
This road winds along the side of KBS. There are no crowds or commercial atmosphere, but instead it has a more leisurely and everyday vibe. No matter how you press the shutter, you will see beautiful pictures. I really recommend it to you if you don’t like crowds.
Tips:
• It is recommended to come in the morning or evening when there are fewer people and it is easier to take photos
• There are also convenience stores and cafes nearby, so you can take a break when you are tired.
• Remember to bring a light jacket, as Seoul in spring is still a bit cold in the mornings and evenings!
If you are in Seoul during this cherry blossom season, you might want to take a trip to this low-key yet charming path. It’s a great place to take photos and check in!

Seoul|This building is too exaggerated! Every floor is like shooting a music video, and the Internet beauties keep taking photos. HiKR GROUND Hospitality Space
If you love taking photos like me and want to learn more about Korean culture, you definitely can’t miss this place!
HiKR GROUND is a hospitality space located in the Korea Tourism Organization Seoul Center in Jung-gu, Seoul. The entire building is divided into multiple themed floors, combining K-POP, traditional Korean culture, immersive video experiences and art installations. Whether you are a fangirl, a hipster, or just want to take beautiful photos, this place is perfect for you!
My favorite photo spots are the blue and white spiral staircase and several immersive projection exhibition rooms. No matter where you stand, you can take super dreamy photos. There is also a K-POP virtual stage where you can choose your favorite idol group background and stand on it to take pictures just like taking pictures with your idol (so cool!)
In addition to taking photos, you can also try on Korean clothes and learn about tourist information of different cities in Korea. It is basically a complex space that combines information, entertainment and beauty!
Recommendation index: ★★★★★
• Address: 40 Cheonggyecheon-ro, Jung-gu, Seoul (Korea Tourism Organization)
• Transportation: Subway Line 1 Jonggak Station, about 5 minutes walk
• Tickets: Free admission
• Photo highlights: dreamy staircase, immersive exhibition room, K-POP stage

Why do I always queue up in Hongdae every time I come to Seoul? This place is not just for shopping, but also a treasure trove of creative inspiration🛍
If I could only choose one area to freely explore in Seoul, I would definitely choose Hongdae!
This place is always full of the urge to "take pictures, buy, and stay." Compared to Sinsadong or Myeongdong, Hongdae has a more free-spirited and unconventional personality.
This is not my first time to Hongdae, but I am still pleasantly surprised by the small shops that keep popping up. My favorite is the small alleys in the Yeonnam-dong area. The shops are very low-key and the doors are full of plants. Some stores will even let you DIY your own T-shirts, handmade soaps or scented candles, which is really fun.
📍How to get to Hongdae?
Take Subway Line 2 to Hongik University Station, walk out from Exit 9 or Exit 3, and you will immediately enter the hot spot!
💡Tips:
- It is recommended to arrange a whole afternoon to walk around the alleys, visit shops, take photos, and eat desserts
- Outside Exit 3 of Hongik University Station is the information center, where you can get a Chinese map
- There will be street performers after 6pm, which is very youthful
- Some specialty shops do not allow taking photos, so please pay attention to the signs inside the store!

🇰🇷This is a very friendly restaurant in Seoul and Hongdae. It is very popular in Yeonnam-dong and has wide udon noodles! There are also fried dumplings that you must try|Yummy, Udon Gyoza
Looking for delicious food in Yeongnam-dong, Hongdae? This Japanese udon specialty store, Yummy, Udon Gyoza, is really not to be missed!
The space inside the store is comfortable, with both counter seats and multi-person table areas. It is very friendly to introverted travelers (I people) ~ you will not be disturbed and can enjoy the food quietly.
📱 Ordering is super simple
✔ Order food using a tablet
✔ Chinese interface available
🍜Signature recommendation: Extra wide udon noodles
💰Price: 13,900 KRW
✅ The noodles are really super wide! It's super chewy and doesn't feel crumbly when you bite it.
✅ There are two kinds of dipping sauce: lemon mustard + rich sesame sauce
Personally, I recommend the sesame paste because the aroma goes better with udon noodles, but both are delicious!
The dumplings are also a specialty of this restaurant. They are generous in portion, crispy on the outside, and juicy on the inside.

This Starbucks in Seoul is so cool! ☕Renovation of the retro theater, travel back to 1960s Korea in a second 🎭Starbucks Jingdong 1960 store (스타벅스 경동1960)
This "Starbucks JD 1960 Store" completely refreshed my imagination of chain coffee brands! It is located in the largest medicinal material market in Seoul, Gyeongdong Market. Walking into the inconspicuous entrance, it turns out to be a cafe that retains the original appearance of the theater. It is really a big surprise✨
The predecessor of this place was the "Jingdong Theater" in the 1960s, and it has now been redesigned into a coffee space full of literary and artistic atmosphere. The wooden stepped seating area not only retains the original location of the auditorium, but is also cleverly transformed into a dining area. The entire store has high and spacious ceilings, paired with dim lights and nostalgic tones. The moment you sit down, you'll really think you're watching a retro stage play!
💡Recommendation reason:
- Great atmosphere! It is both retro and trendy, like a literary and artistic version of a small theater
- The drinks are the same as Starbucks standards, but they taste special
Starbucks Jingdong 1960 store (스타벅스 경동1960)
Take Subway Line 1 and get off at Jegi-dong Station. It takes about 5 minutes on foot to find Gyeongdong Market. Starbucks is hidden in one of the buildings in the market (recommended navigation location: Gyeongdong Market Starbucks
- It is recommended to come on weekdays to avoid tourist crowds
- There are many Chinese herbal medicine stalls nearby, which are fun to visit.
- If you like collecting limited edition merchandise, this store occasionally has special items!

Seoul | Top Accommodation Choice! Courtyard by Marriott Seoul Botanic Park - Close to the Airport and Right Next to the Subway
This time, we stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott Seoul Botanic Park, and the overall experience truly exceeded our expectations! Not only is the hotel stylishly designed and the rooms spacious and comfortable, but from the moment we stepped into the lobby, we were greeted with the staff's warm enthusiasm and professionalism.
The front desk staff, upon hearing that we were flying back to Taiwan the next day, went out of their way to check transportation options for us, remind us of the timing, and even thoughtfully offered us cookies. It was such a heartwarming gesture.
The room was spacious and clean, completely unlike the cramped feeling of typical city hotels. The view from the window showcased the beautiful park scenery nearby. The hotel's location is fantastic—just a few minutes' walk to the subway station, with convenience stores nearby, making it very convenient for daily needs. If you're looking for a hotel close to the airport for a night before heading home, this is absolutely the perfect choice!

Eat fist-sized takoyaki in Seoul! You can't even put it in one mouthful. This is the giant in the meatball world.
Have you ever eaten takoyaki that is bigger than your fist?
No kidding, this BAKUDAN-바쿠단야끼 located in Hongdae Plaza has upgraded the "Chibi Meatballs" into a giant takoyaki. Just eating one will make you super full.
This meatball is very sincere, with 10 ingredients stacked layer by layer: octopus pieces, bonito flakes, nori, takoyaki powder, shredded vegetables, cheese, salad dressing, seasoning sauce
The taste is sticky and tender with a slightly crispy texture, and you will feel full of happiness when you bite it.
I ordered the "Caviar Double Flavor", which is rich cheese + salty and fragrant caviar. It is best eaten when it is hot. Don't take too long to eat it~

The most e
The most exciting moment of this spring trip to Seoul was when I walked into Seoul Forest. Surrounded by cherry blossoms, we felt like we were stepping into a Japanese drama. The sun shone through the petals and fell to the ground. Every breath of air was filled with the fragrance of spring.
The most unforgettable thing was the scene of a couple taking photos of each other by chance under the cherry blossom tree: the boy gently helped the girl to brush away the falling petals, and the girl smiled as brightly as the sun. The two of them stood under a sea of blooming flowers, as if they were the only ones left in the world. The scene was so sweet that I forgot to breathe for a moment.
When I noticed this couple, they were setting up a tripod under the cherry tree and adjusting the angle and composition in perfect harmony. The sun shone on them, and they kept taking pictures, changing angles and posing, but what touched my heart the most was that moment - they suddenly stopped looking at the camera, and looked gently at each other. At that second, their eyes were full of tenderness and tacit understanding, as if the whole world had stopped, leaving only them gazing at each other under the cherry blossom rain. I quietly pressed the shutter button and silently collected this scene of spring romance in my heart.
📍Transportation: Take the Bundang Line to Seoul Forest Station, about a 5-minute walk away
📅 Best time to view cherry blossoms: late March to mid-April
💡 Recommended itinerary: Avoid the weekend crowds, daytime on weekdays is best for taking photos + picnics + walking
☕ Recommended places to visit: There are many quality cafes nearby, and you can also take a walk to the Han River to enjoy the afternoon sun
If you are also planning to visit Seoul to enjoy the cherry blossoms, don’t miss Seoul Forest!

Seoul|The world's only floating artificial island is in Seoul. Explore it during the day and then go for the night view of Seoul Samgwangdo Island next time
Samgwangdo (세빛섬) is an artificial floating island located on the Han River in Seoul. It consists of three main islands and a multimedia art gallery. It is the world's first building complex that truly floats on the water. You can reach it by walking on the bridge connecting to the land.
This time I came during the day, and although I didn't get to see the legendary dreamy night light show, the overall space still made people feel spacious and healing. Standing by the Han River, walking on the floating island with the breeze feels particularly light.
I heard that Samgwang Island will be lit up with gorgeous lights at night, and the whole island will sparkle on the Han River, like a future world. Next time, I must come at night to experience this romance and shock!

Seoul|Hyundai Yeouido Oh my god, it’s delicious and beautiful. I’m willing to go for it just for a bite of strawberry tiramisu!
Use a small spoon to gently tap it open, and you will enjoy both the visual and taste senses. There is so much filling inside that you can't even dig the bottom out with a spoon. The texture is dense and delicate, and you can tell the strawberry jam is made from fresh strawberries.
There is also a crispy white chocolate shell on the surface. Tap it with a loving spoon.
Once we dug in, we found that the ingredients were hidden very deep, the kind that you can’t get to the bottom of with just a spoon!
The strawberry jam is sour and sweet. You can tell it is made from fresh strawberries as soon as you taste it. Combined with the aroma of milk, the whole texture is very smooth. The most important thing is that it is not too sweet and you will not feel sick at all after eating it!

🌸When the sun meets the cherry blossoms Seoul Garden Festa|Walking in the sea of flowers in spring in Seoul Healing spot
What I look forward to most every spring is coming to Seoul and being surrounded by flowers. This time, I chose to go to Seoul Garden Festa
This is really beautiful and romantic. In addition to the garden exhibition area with more than 100 kinds of flowers in full bloom, there are also markets, food trucks, and music performances. The whole park seems to have turned into a sea of cherry blossoms.
📸It is recommended to wear light-colored or floral dresses to take photos. Any photo will be a super beautiful check-in spot!
In addition to the eye-catching flower scenery, there are also many small surprises in Festa that make people want to visit:

The best hotel to stay in Myeongdong! 2 minutes from the subway, very convenient for shopping and returning to the room
This time I came to Seoul and found a new hotel that opened in 2022.
Great location! class! none! enemy! good!
It’s a 2-minute walk from Myeongdong subway station and the Myeongdong shopping district is just down the stairs!
Lotte Duty Free Shop and Shinsegae Department Store are all nearby. You can’t shop all the way there in three days. You can go back to your room and lie down immediately after shopping until you are tired!
The overall facilities are very new, the counter staff are friendly and can speak Chinese.
When checking in, they also proactively asked about needs.

Taiwanese food in Seoul: Eat Korean braised pork at Bao Xu Yuan
One afternoon during my trip to Seoul, I suddenly missed Taiwanese food.
I didn't expect to encounter it near Hongdae.
This Taiwanese restaurant run by a Korean uncle - 바오 서울 (包徐苑), is hidden in a low-key building. At first glance, it looks like an art exhibition hall.
- Braised Pork Rice (₩6,500): The aroma wafts in as soon as it is served. The braised pork is minced but not greasy, and the addition of coriander instantly elevates the taste.
- Beef noodles (₩13,000): The soup was beyond expectation! The slightly sour aroma comes from a little bit of vinegar. The overall taste is layered and rich. The beef is braised until soft and tasty. The noodles are thick but have a good bite, a bit like something between sliced noodles and plain noodles.
Transportation:
From Mangwon Station or Hongik University Station, it's about a 10-minute walk. There are also many stylish coffee shops and small bookstores nearby, which are perfect for a half-day trip.
This is not the most authentic Taiwanese dish I have ever eaten, but it is the most thoughtful and nostalgic dish. If you are traveling in a foreign country and suddenly think of the braised pork rice at the corner of your home lane, you might as well come here and have a seat.

I originally just passed by, but once I stepped in, I couldn't stop myself. I circled the store three times and still didn't want to leave. The store's display is incredibly tasteful, and the prices are quite reasonable. No wonder I saw so many Korean girls walking out with bag after bag.

Enter Korean lifestyle aesthetics|BOMARKET is a paradise for healing lovers|Seoul's fresh lifestyle store🛍️
This BOMARKET hidden in Shengshuidong or the Boulevard is really classy! You can feel a simple and warm atmosphere from the appearance. The items sold inside range from stationery, daily necessities, scented candles to special selections, and each one makes you want to take it home.
The whole room is designed in Korean minimalist and natural style, which is very suitable for people who like design and pay attention to the sense of ritual in life. You can also find a lot of small items from local Korean design brands. Although the prices are not the cheapest, the quality is really good, and they are great for gifts or for personal use!
I personally love their mirrors, glassware area, and fragrance series, the scents are very healing~

Seoul|Recommended Stay at Moxy Seoul Myeongdong|Super Convenient Location + Free Laundry Service
Moxy Seoul Myeongdong offers an excellent overall experience.
The hotel is located right next to the Myeongdong shopping district, very close to the subway lines 2 and 4. Whether you're shopping, enjoying local cuisine, or traveling around, the location is incredibly convenient!
This time, I stayed in a twin room, which has slightly less space compared to a double room. However, you can place your luggage in the small hallway near the entrance without affecting movement. Although the room is small, the smart design makes great use of space with plenty of hooks and practical storage solutions.
The bathroom features a separate wet and dry area, making it very comfortable to use. Amenities are complete, including toothbrushes, slippers, towels, bottled water, tea bags, and coffee.
- The free laundry and drying service is a lifesaver, especially for longer trips where you might run out of clothes.
- If you're coming from the currency exchange direction, you can walk down the slope.
- Alternatively, enter through the building entrance near the subway station, take the escalator down to B1, where staff will guide you to the correct floor, and then take the elevator to the fourth floor for check-in.
This hotel is perfect for those who love shopping and prefer hassle-free accommodations. The service, facilities, and location are all top-notch, making my stay very comfortable and enjoyable. I would definitely consider staying here again on my next trip to Seoul!
Steak lovers, save this quickly! The steak rice bowl and set meal at the Seishu Taste Restaurant are delicious. This Korean restaurant MiDoin is very popular in the area.
This low-key yet powerful "MiDoin 미도인" is really not to be missed! This branch in Seongsu-dong has a small storefront but hides a spacious and comfortable interior, which is really suitable for people who want to have a quiet meal.
At the popular Korean restaurant "Weidaren 미도인" in Sudong, I finally got to try two popular main dishes: steak rice bowl and steak set meal, both of which have different surprises!
🍱 Steak Rice: The sauce is sweet and goes really well with the tender steak. It's very satisfying to finish a whole bowl.
🍱 Steak set meal: The sauce is sour and refreshing, suitable for those who want to eat less greasy food.
🏠
The space is a bit narrow and the ceiling is a bit low, which makes it feel a bit oppressive, but the overall style is that of a country wooden house, which is quite warm. Suitable for a date or dining with friends
🚇Transportation
It is a 5-minute walk from Exit 1 of Seongsu Station on Subway Line 2.

April only! Seoul Cherry Blossoms Explode 🌸These 3 romantic spots make you not want to go home
Every April, the whole of Seoul seems to be covered by a pink filter, so beautiful that it seems unreal. During this trip, we followed the footsteps of cherry blossoms and visited three highly recommended cherry blossom viewing locations. Each location has a different romantic atmosphere, so hurry up and grab some!
🌸 Seoul Forest
Cherry blossom trees are in full bloom along the trail, and next to it is the Understand Avenue container market, where you can drink coffee and take photos, which is very artistic. There aren't many people here, so it's perfect for those who want to enjoy the flowers quietly.
🌸 Yeouido Cherry Blossom Avenue
When the cherry blossoms are in full bloom, the whole road looks like it is surrounded by a pink ocean. This is a classic among classics! Whether you are strolling during the day or admiring the cherry blossoms after lighting them up at night, the beauty is breathtaking. It’s so sweet to see so many couples taking photos hand in hand under the cherry trees!
🌸 Hongdae Street
I didn’t expect that the bustling Hongdae area also hides many cherry blossom surprises! Whole rows of cherry blossom trees pop up from time to time in the alleys and street parks, and combined with the trendy street scenes, there is a sense of youthful and unrestrained romance.
The cherry blossom season is very short, expected to last only until around mid-April! If you want to see the full bloom picture, now is the best time!

Seoul accommodation recommendation|Nine Tree Premier ROKAUS Yongsan Branch: Super large room, next to the subway, super convenient transportation!
Staying at Nine Tree Premier ROKAUS Hotel Seoul Yongsan, located next to Yongsan Station, can be said to be one of the most satisfying accommodations on this trip! Whether it is transportation, comfort or overall service quality, everything exceeds expectations
As soon as I entered the room, I was attracted by the bright lighting and clean environment. The room is very large and very friendly to travelers with large luggage. The sound insulation is also good, and it is very quiet and comfortable to live in.
The hotel is close to Yongsan Station, which is only a few minutes' walk away. Whether you want to go to Hongdae, Sinsa-dong, Myeongdong or Gangnam, it's super fast!
What's even better is that the airport bus goes directly to the hotel entrance, so you don't have to worry about dragging luggage. Alternatively, you can take the Gyeongui Central Line from Hongdae and transfer to the Airport Express, which is cheaper and more convenient than taking the bus!
This hotel is very new and modern in design. The reception counter and cleaning staff are very friendly and polite. They can help solve problems immediately, which makes people feel safe and caring.
