My favorite among the four participating artists is Zhang Haijun. I love seeing art exhibits, so when this new (to me) art exhibit appeared on WeChat, I had to go and see. Zheng Wenxin is the curator of this exhibit on the 3rd floor of Three on the Bund. It’s a free to visit exhibit but currently, Covid restrictions apply, and you need to register through WeChat to visit. It is small and quick to see all of the art work but it’s concept is rather interesting. At the entrance you can collect the background information on the artists and the works and why they have been included. #artgallery This new internet celebrity place, which occupies an expensive corner of Lujiazui, has recently appeared frequently in the circle of friends. So I couldn't resist the temptation. On an ordinary Friday afternoon, I took half a day off and crossed the Huangpu River to follow the trend and check in. Coming out of the underground, I followed the navigation and found the entrance of the art gallery. There were not many people in line. After temperature measurement, security check, and ticket inspection, I was already in the art gallery in a few minutes. Now I think this may not be a reasonable tour route. The space of the art gallery is divided into thirteen exhibition halls. The three heavyweight opening exhibitions of "Cai Guoqiang: Journey and Return", "Light: Tate Collection Exhibition" and "Joan Miró: Women, Birds, Stars" occupied the large exhibition halls on the second, third and fourth floors respectively. The opening of the entire exhibition was the treasure of the Tate Gallery-"Ophelia" by John Everett Millais. After visiting the exhibition, I replenished some energy at the MAP×Seesaw Cafe on the first floor. The "Pujiang River" with Ethiopian osmanthus cold brew and citrus cinnamon black tea and the "Meishu Can" with avocado raw coconut milk and rooibos tea are the two special drinks of the cafe. 🌈Zhao Bo｜Polar Journey 📅2024/10/27 - 2024/11/30 A short-term exchange to Oslo in 2011 had a profound impact on Zhao Bo's later creations. The vast starry sky, the magical and magnificent aurora, the breathtaking fjords, the lush spruces... all of these, once seemingly out of reach, suddenly became tangible. During this period, he also gained a new understanding and appreciation of his hometown in Northeast China. As a result, most of his paintings depict scenes that resemble both Northern Europe and Northeast China. It can be said that this is his imagined version of another North, a future polar region that is neither entirely Eastern nor Western. Zhao Bo's 'Cold Wonderland' series was previously showcased in a group exhibition at SGA. Although it appears to depict an uninhabited land, it actually hints at the reality we live in or the future world that is about to come. Seeing it again this time, I like it even more. Before the opening ceremony, I arrived at the gallery. The drinks were ready, and the guests were about to enter, but I chose to avoid the crowd and continue my solo exhibition tour along the Bund.
