Shanghai Wild Animal Park Weekly Hot Spots
Hot Spot 1: "Flash" is here! Don't miss these new highlights as top-tier "Dou Ding" meet for the first time this Labor Day →
As spring brings new life, adorable animals are becoming popular. Don't miss these new highlights at the Shanghai Wild Animal Park this Labor Day!
The petting zoo welcomes new residents. They are "Flash" from Zootopia, with smiling expressions and an adorable appearance. They are sloths. However, unlike the three-toed sloth in the movie, the new residents of the petting zoo are two-toed sloths. The main differences between them are the number of toes, the number of cervical vertebrae, and some physiological characteristics. To welcome the new residents, we have built a new ecological home for them in the petting zoo, which not only features lush tropical plants, but also simulation vines throughout the forest and tree houses for them to live in, based on the sloths' habit of living in trees, using their claws to hook onto branches and hang upside down, and moving through the trees. You can watch the daily life of these new residents up close in the petting zoo, and witness how they leisurely hang in the trees, slowly move their bodies, and enjoy their quiet time.
Ding Ding and his friends meet and greet. During this Labor Day holiday, Ding Ding will also meet you with many new friends! Post related videos and photos on social media platforms, and you will have the opportunity to receive limited edition postcards~ Time: May 1–May 5, 13:00 Location: Petting Zoo. The two "top-tier" Ding Ding and Dou Dou finally meet! What will it be like when the social butterfly Dou Dou meets the socially awkward Ding Ding? Holding hands? Eye contact? Hugs? There is also a story about "protecting food." Welcome to the scene to unlock more interesting moments of "Dou Ding CP"! Spring outings are perfect for taking a walk! Our little anteater, Xiao Bei, will also come to the lawn to meet you~ Xiao Bei has grown from a "small pendant" on his mother's back to a "little man" who can stand alone!
Many adorable animal babies will also make a collective appearance in the petting zoo. The milky white tiger cub, Naitang, loves to interact with tourists through the glass, and her watery blue eyes look at you curiously. You may also have the opportunity to encounter Naitang baby on a walk! The well-fed brown bear cubs squint and doze off, their bellies bulging after drinking milk, occasionally turning over and stretching their bodies.
Flamingos, capybaras, and penguins stroll. Walking on the tree-lined avenue, you can also encounter unexpected surprises. A group of flamingos, the "supermodel" team, walks towards you, and the capybara "army" marches slowly on the avenue with "neat" steps. The curious penguin babies walk proudly and swagger on the lawn of the Tiger Restaurant. Jiji and Manman wave their wings from time to time and make noises to greet tourists.
The new cultural and creative store, "Cultural and Creative Story House," is officially open! The store is adjacent to the African elephant exhibition area and is decorated in bright yellow and blue colors to create a lively atmosphere. The three-dimensional elephant sculpture complements the animal window stickers such as pandas and giant pandas, making it a great place to take photos! The store offers many exquisite souvenirs that incorporate animal elements, covering a variety of categories such as dolls, stationery, and figures, which are simply irresistible! Come to Shanghai Wild Animal Park this Labor Day to unlock more exciting new highlights!
Hot Spot 2: The milky "Naitang" baby is here!
New members of the petting zoo are here! White tiger baby "Naitang" makes her debut. Naitang is a female white tiger, born on Feb 19, 2025. Her whole body is milky white, her tiger stripes are light chocolate, and she has a pink nose, mouth, and paw pads. The most beautiful thing is her blue eyes, which seem to have their own cosmetic contact lenses, always looking at you with watery eyes. Naitang is lively and active, likes to act cute with her keepers, and is like a soft and sweet White Rabbit candy, hence the name "Naitang." Whenever someone approaches the glass, the curious Naitang will rush over with a "swoosh," stick her furry body to the glass, tilt her head, and stick to tourists, like a naughty "big cat"~ Because in artificial captive environments, some animal mothers become nervous after giving birth, and the exhaustion and weakness brought about by natural childbirth make them anxious. Animals giving birth for the first time are prone to abandonment and insufficient milk. At this time, the animal keepers will continue to take care of the babies instead of the animal mothers. Most of the animal babies who come to the Infant Rearing Garden in the petting zoo are for this reason. Naitang was very small when she was first born, weighing about 1,000 g. Like caring for other animal babies, Naitang's growth is inseparable from the 24-hour care of the keepers. When feeding regularly, the keepers will carefully adjust the milk temperature and feed at the most appropriate angle to ensure that the little one will not choke due to sucking too quickly. When she is unable to excrete on her own, the keepers gently massage her with their fingers to simulate the warmth of maternal love and help her complete this basic function of life. As for cleaning, the keepers will gently wipe every inch of her skin like an animal mother to keep her clean and healthy.
Welcome everyone to the petting zoo to meet the milky Naitang baby! If the weather is good, you may be able to meet her on a walk~
Hot Spot 3: 7 giraffe babies make their first collective appearance!
The Shanghai Wild Animal Park has recently welcomed new faces to officially meet tourists—7 lively giraffe babies have made a collective appearance! In addition to the familiar giraffe "Five Brothers," there are also new babies joining! In the exhibition area tailored for giraffes, 7 little giraffes made their first collective appearance, each showing their unique personality~ The most stable "Hagrid" often stands at the front like an older brother, alert to the surroundings. The most naughty "Haixin" always loves to chase after everyone to play. The most gluttonous "Hairui" can't move his legs when he sees the tender leaves in the keeper's hand, while the shyest "Haibao" likes to hide in the distance and secretly observe tourists. They sometimes bury their heads in their meals, sometimes stretch their necks and rub against each other, sometimes chase each other and play, and sometimes curiously look at tourists and say hello, which is very cute. Now, they are all energetic and their heights have exceeded 2.6m. The eldest brother "Hagrid" has exceeded 3m, gradually highlighting the height advantage of giraffes. They run like a gust of wind, showing vigorous vitality. You can not only observe them up close through the walking area and the drive-through area, but also participate in interactive experiences to feel the warmth and interaction between people and animals. Welcome everyone to the Giraffe Garden to witness the interesting growth stories of our giraffe babies together!
