【Experience】
If you ask me if there is an exciting and dreamy theme park like Tokyo Disneyland or Everland in South Korea on Jeju Island, I will recommend you without hesitation: "Go to Shinhwa Theme Park!" This large park that combines cuteness, adventure, check-in, and leisure is definitely one of the must-see attractions for Jeju's free travel.
This time we took a bus from the center of Seogwipo to Shinhwa Theme Park, which took about 40 minutes. As soon as we got off the bus, we were welcomed by the huge "LARVA cartoon characters" on the outer wall of the park. The colorful and three-dimensional funny characters instantly made people feel good. This place is not only suitable for parents and children, but even adults can have a lot of fun!
The park is mainly divided into three major areas. The first one to enter is the "Larva Adventure Village". It is based on the popular animation "LARVA" and has many cute scenes and mechanical games. Although the facilities are more parent-child oriented, it is really healing to take pictures, especially the "dazed yellow bug" himself is so cute!
Then we came to the most futuristic "Oscar's New World". This area is more technological and adventurous, with dynamic rides such as VR facilities, rapids and flying chairs. I personally love the 360-degree rotating roller coaster. It only takes a few minutes to make my heart beat faster. After playing, I screamed and laughed wildly!
Another area is the more classic "Rotary Park", which has an American carnival style. There are Ferris wheels, carousels, and small trains. Every decorative detail is cute and easy to take pictures, like walking into an animated movie. This area is very suitable for taking pictures in the evening. The whole park is shining orange in the sunset, and it looks like a postcard no matter how you take it.
The park facilities are very well maintained, the waiting time is not long, and the map also clearly indicates the age and height restrictions of each facility. There is free Wi-Fi, lockers and stroller rental services, which makes parents with children much easier. There are also many stalls selling popcorn, drinks and souvenirs, especially the LARVA theme store, which makes people want to keep spending money on dolls, notebooks and mobile phone charms.
For lunch, we chose to eat hamburger sets and fried chicken in the food court in the park. It is not cheap (the set is about ₩13,000), but the taste is unexpectedly good and the portion is filling enough. The restaurant is also full of cartoon decorations, and the children are super happy just watching the animations on the wall.
If you live in the nearby "Shinhwa World Resort" or want to play in the water together, you can also purchase a water park "Shinhwa Water World" package to realize the itinerary from morning to night. We didn't play in the water park due to limited time, but the theme park alone is enough to spend a whole day.
Overall, Shinhwa Park is a park that is very suitable for those who like animated characters, cute check-in spots and want to enjoy a little excitement. It may not be as big as Everland or as classic as Disney, but the unique atmosphere that combines Korean cartoons and local entertainment is something that cannot be felt in other places in Jeju.
Here, we regained our childhood innocence, released stress, and left many "laughing until our stomachs hurt" memories. If you travel to Jeju, don't just think about the scenery and seafood, remember to spend a day in this "paradise in mythology". You will be surprised to find that Jeju also has its own fairy tale world! 🎡🎠💥
