To get to Shinsen-numa in Niseko, Hokkaido, head to the Shinsen-numa Natural Recreation Forest Rest Area. You can park your car in this free parking lot, use the restroom and have a snack, and then take a walk to Shinsen-numa. On the side of the rest area opposite Shinsen-numa, there is an observation deck where you can see the scenery below the mountain from a distance. Shinsen Marsh, near Niseko in Hokkaido Niseko is popular with foreigners as well. It is popular as a place to enjoy resorts and mountain climbing in the summer and skiing in the winter. The walking path to the observation deck was not well maintained. There is a path, but you have to push through bamboo bushes that are about as tall as you are, and from the observation deck you can just see a little bit of the scenery through the trees. This is a store that is only open seasonally. In addition to ramen and curry, you can also enjoy soft serve ice cream and coffee at the rest house. It's a little secret spot. Recommended for standing on the drive.

It is a very beautiful scenic spot. It was a bit cold in early September, so if you're sensitive to the cold, we recommend bringing a light windbreaker. It was a 30 minute to 1 hour walk, but I was a little scared along the way as I was not used to mountaineering and forgot to bring a bear bell. Thankfully, I went on a Saturday and Sunday, so there were relatively many people, so I didn't have any problems. If you're going on a weekday or are curious about it, it's definitely a good idea to bring a bear bell.

In spring, the surrounding cherry blossoms are in full bloom, creating a dreamlike scene with the lake water, in summer, the “Shenxian Marsh” will be a brilliant blue due to the refraction of the sun’s rays, and in autumn, the surrounding trees will turn golden yellow and red, contrasting with the lake water, which is simply a photographer’s paradise. Overall, the mysterious and charming Hokkaido “Shinkenuma” is a great place to feel the charm of nature.
