Singapore One-week Travel Record and Experience 4-Merlion Park + City Landscape
On the morning of the 4th day, we chose to swim in the hotel swimming pool. Most hotels in Singapore have open-air swimming pools. The water depth is generally between 0.6 meters and 1.2 meters, so this depth is especially suitable for children to play in the water. In addition, the surrounding designs of most swimming pools are beautiful and suitable for taking pictures, so be sure to reserve some time to take your children to experience the swimming pools of various hotels.
After swimming and resting, we changed to the third hotel in Singapore at noon. It is located in Republic Building near Raffles Place MRT Station, Citadines Raffles Place Singapore. This is the second tallest building in Singapore at 208 meters high. Guests staying at the hotel can climb to the top to enjoy the view for free. There was no explanation when booking the hotel. Instead, when I asked at the front desk, the waiter told me that I could go up to the city viewing platform from the middle viewing platform on the 17th floor, walk around half a circle, and take an elevator directly to the 51st floor. However, the top floor platform is only open on weekdays, so it is impossible to enjoy the night view of Singapore. But because of this unexpected gain, I canceled my Ferris wheel trip. The Ferris wheel and the golden sand are both smaller ones in front of the rooftop landscape garden of this hotel. Please see the picture.
I walked to Chinatown in the afternoon, about 10 minutes away. I happened to pass by the internet-famous hotel full of green plants and checked in and took photos. Then I went to eat Song Fa Bak Kut Teh in Chinatown. Song Fa Bak Kut Teh (Chinatown branch) is a Michelin restaurant that costs only 15 Singapore dollars per person. There was still a long queue at around 2 pm. It is really popular. I recommend everyone to try it.
After lunch, the children were sleepy, so we took a nap in the hotel and then walked to Merlion Park in the evening. Passing by the river, we could see Clarke Quay. It was not night yet, so Clarke Quay was not yet lively.
Merlion Park is just a few minutes walk along the river.
It should be noted that Singapore's iconic big lion is under repair from the end of September to the end of December 2023. I have known that Singapore has an iconic Merlion since I was a child through Qiduo Circle. It is a pity that I didn't see the real Merlion. However, I think there is still a chance to see the Merlion. It is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see the Merlion under repair.
Fortunately, there is a little Merlion behind the big lion, which is also spraying water all the time, so the tourists all gather at the little lion behind to take pictures.
After taking the photos, we walked around the bay and the scenery was beautiful. The golden sands opposite were also very photogenic.
It was a bit rainy that day, so we returned to the hotel early in the evening to rest and end the day's itinerary.
Raffles Place: I would like to remind you that it is very convenient to travel around if you live near Raffles Place MRT station. There are many subways and many attractions can be reached on foot. The disadvantage is that this is the city center and many shops are closed after 8 pm. There is no atmosphere of hustle and bustle, so it is recommended to stay for 1-2 nights to experience it. You must try a few more hotels in Singapore as the styles and environments of each hotel are quite different. Two of the four hotels I stayed in required a deposit of 100 Singapore dollars each, which was returned after check-out, and the other two did not require a deposit. Two hotels have direct drinking water, and two hotels require you to go to the corridor to get purified water with large cups provided. Some hotels do not provide proactive cleaning services, and there are check-out times and other things you need to pay attention to when checking in.
Another reason why I change hotels every 2 days is that many hotels don't take the initiative to clean, so changing hotels saves a lot of trouble
