#Self-driving tour
Address: 87-176 Dongdaesin-dong, Seo-gu, Busan, South Korea
Atmosphere/Facilities: Cable car, 100-story staircase, characteristic houses
Features: 100-step small cable car, painted village
Price per person: Free
Rating: A small village located in the hilly terrain next to Busan Central Park. Most of South Korea's terrain is hilly and most houses are built on hillsides. In the early days when there were no electrical appliances and no means of transportation. The main road can only be reached via hundreds of steps. Busan, in particular, is a typical and representative ladder city.
The Stairs of Hope were originally designed for residents to walk up the hundreds of steps that they had to take to get to the bus. Considering the inconvenience of walking for the elderly, a small cable car with two seats and a weight limit of 10 kilograms was set up, which is very much like an improved electric stair chair.
Later, it unexpectedly became a photo spot for tourists, which attracted the local government's attention. They not only maintained the place but also added many beautifying art installations. They also opened the second-level ladder cable car for tourists to ride. The first floor needs to be reserved for local residents.
The transportation here is not very convenient, you need to take a taxi or drive there. It's very hard to wait for the bus and there is no subway either.

Somang Stairway Monorail
Currently, another well-known 168-step monorail is still under repair, and the group tour will take you there. The overall environment is far inferior to Stairs of Wishes and Somang Stairs. In addition to the maintenance personnel here, they will also enthusiastically introduce it and help you take photos. They are very nice.
The train is very small and can only carry two people. We took a taxi directly to the bottom, and after getting on the top, we took a minibus back to Nampo-dong. The attraction is convenient and interesting. During the cherry blossom season, the cherry blossoms here will be in full bloom and very beautiful.

[Korea (Busan)] Colorful Spot in Busan ✨ Cute Monorail for Residents
I went to see the cute monorail for residents!
This is a way of life for people living in the area!
It was built because it was really steep and difficult to go back and forth using the stairs.
On the way there, I had to climb some pretty steep stairs,
but luckily there was no one riding, so I enjoyed the ride down until halfway ♡
It seats two people,
and there are buttons ①, ②, and ③, and when you press the button for where you want to go,
it moves slowly!
[Recommended points]
① It's colorful and photogenic✨
② The cute monorail and the view of Busan from above are the most beautiful!! !
③ It's for residents, so it's free to ride!
[Notes⚠️]
① It's for residents, not tourists.
Tourists can ride it, but if there are residents around, you need to be considerate🙇♀️
② It's quite a walk to get to the monorail, so I recommend wearing comfortable shoes!
▶︎You'll go through a residential area, but there are murals and photo spots along the way✨ (I'll introduce them later!)
③ The stairs are pretty hard!

Cherry Whispers Blooming: A Spring Journey on the Stairs of Wishes
#cherryblossom25 Not only is the Stairs of Wishes Monorail, also known as the Somang Stairs Monorail, a fantastic spot for photos, but during my visit, the surrounding area began to come alive with beauty as cherry blossom season approached. Soft pink petals were nearly in full bloom, and it felt like just a little more warmth would bring them to their peak. The monorail, which connects Mangyang-ro at the base of the hill to Junganggongwon-ro above, offers a peaceful ride through this blooming landscape. #StairsOfWishes #SomangStairsMonorail #CherryBlossoms #springvibes
