A weekend day trip, the route is Dinghui Temple - Twin Pagodas - Jiachen Lane Brick Pagoda - Huan Dai Temple - Baoshan Temple - Mingyue Zen Temple - Mingyue Bay Village. Can't say it's particularly good, but it's still recommended. Suzhou Station take the subway to Lindun Road Station, Dinghui Temple is in the alley next door. Before touring, you can have a Chinese Bruch at the neighboring Wanfuxing, which is said to have been founded in 1911. The alley is named after the temple, called Dinghui Temple Alley. The temple is said to have been founded during the Tang Dynasty, and the existing buildings were rebuilt during the Qing Dynasty. In front of the temple, there are two huge ginkgo trees. Suzhou has an alley called Dinghui Temple Lane, which is less than three hundred meters long from east to west and only about ten meters wide. It starts from the west at Fenghuang Street and ends at the east at the bank of Guantaiwei Bridge Pond, quietly hidden in the bustling eastern part of the ancient city. Walking from Fenghuang Street to the west entrance of the alley, you will see an archway engraved with the four characters 'Dinghui Temple Lane'. The pillars on both sides of the archway bear the inscription 'Famous scholars left their old residences here, and the Zen gates still shine today', revealing the long history and rich cultural atmosphere of Dinghui Temple Lane. Dinghui Temple was founded in the second year of the Xiantong period of the Tang Dynasty (861) by the famous Wu scholar Sheng Chu and others. It was originally named Prajna Temple, renamed Arhat Temple during the Five Dynasties, Western Temple in the Song Dynasty, and Shouning Wansui Temple in the Qing Dynasty. Later, it was divided into two parts: the eastern side became Shuangta Temple, and the western side remained Dinghui Temple. What makes Dinghui Temple famous in Suzhou are the two towering ginkgo trees on either side of the main hall. Despite 200 years of vicissitudes, they still stand in front of the hall, and the ground covered with golden leaves gives this thousand-year-old temple a sense of Zen and charm. One of the twin towers is called the Relic Tower, and the other is called the Merit Tower.
