Talat Noi is a historic and artistic community in Bangkok.
#JanuaryGoodPlaces2025
If you want to experience the beautiful scenery of Bangkok’s old town, it is recommended to visit the Talat Noi #達莱仔 community. Located on the other side of the Iconsiam River in Chao Phraya, from Holy Rosary Church to Song Wat Rd., this stretch of road is small and intricate, with a touch of the alleyways of Penang and Tainan.
Talat Noi was developed very early because it is located along the Chao Phraya River. It is a place where outsiders live and bring their cultural beliefs with them. Here you can see Chinese temples, European-style churches, and many machine parts factories. Walking through the mottled walls and alleys covered with modern graffiti, you can see the conflict and integration of historical intersections.
Talat Noi means "small market" in Thai. Many old houses have been transformed into hipster selections or specialty coffee shops. It is a good place to take photos wherever you turn a corner. It has a strong sense of history and local life.
It is recommended to stroll along "Schlongkorn Road" and "Yaowarat Road" together to experience the cultural customs along the Chao Phraya River and Chinatown, and taste street food by the way.
Talat Noi recommended attractions:

✓Mother Roaster Talat Noi (coffee shop)
✓#Su Hengtai Residence
✓Antique Turtle car

Exploring Street Art at Talad Noi.
Visited and shared to stories
🚶Take a walk around the Talad Noi community and stop by another photo spot, the Street Art. There are beautiful murals along the walls to admire along various routes.🚗
🏘️Talad Noi, or as it was traditionally called 'Talak Kia', is a commercial area that has existed since the early Rattanakosin period due to its location along the Chao Phraya River on the Phra Nakhon side. It had a pier for docking, making travel convenient both by land and water at that time. As a result, many Chinese people settled here for trade and residence. We can still see traces along the way as we explore and enjoy the community's way of life, including traditional Chinese shops and numerous Chinese shrines, both small and large. 🧡🧡🧡
📢Open all the time, you can walk and take pictures anytime.

Kudichin Portuguese Community, a century-old community in Bangkok
Bangkok is home to many century-old communities, such as the Samphanthawong community (dating back to the 18th century) centered around Chinatown, the Banglamphu community, a gathering place for nobles on the west side of the Grand Palace, and the Talat Noi community, known for its street art and old buildings. But among these communities, the Kudichin community is particularly special. It is dominated by Western culture and has a history of more than 200 years. It is an important mark left by Portuguese immigrants in Bangkok.
[History of the Kudichin Community]
Portugal was one of the first European countries to establish formal diplomatic and trade relations with Thailand (then Siam), a relationship that began in 1511. At that time, the Portuguese came to Siam as merchants, missionaries, and military advisers.
After the Ayutthaya Kingdom was captured by Burma in 1767, King Rama I of Thailand moved the capital to Bangkok and settled some Portuguese in a community along the Chao Phraya River, which is today's Kudichin community.
[Recommended Attractions]
Santa Cruz Church
· Built in the 1770s, it is one of the oldest Catholic churches in Bangkok. The design of the church incorporates Portuguese architectural styles, and although it has been renovated several times, it still retains some of its original features. It is the core landmark of the community and a witness to the history of the Portuguese integrating into Thai society.
Baan Kudichin Museum
· The museum provides a comprehensive overview of the history of the Portuguese in Bangkok, with sculptures, gardens, traditional houses, and handicrafts. I was attracted by an old wooden piano and couldn't help but play it for a long time.
· Featured food: The cafe here offers authentic Portuguese desserts, such as Foi Thong and Portuguese egg tarts, which are worth a try!
[Community Experience]
Walking through the alleys of the Kudichin community, you can see Jesus paintings and exquisite mailboxes of different styles hanging in every household. The community is full of the atmosphere of the collision of Portuguese and Thai cultures, quiet and charming.
In addition, there are also Jian An Palace and Guan Di Temple near the community, and visitors can connect these attractions to experience the multiculturalism of the area. It is a place worth spending an afternoon exploring.

Hello everyone, today we will introduce you to a place that we took our foreign friends to!

2. Wat Pho
Next is Wat Pho, which has the largest reclining Buddha in Thailand. This place is quiet and has a lot of history. There are also amazing carvings.
3. Yaowarat
Then we went to Yaowarat or Chinatown. Let me tell you that this place is full of delicious food! At night, the atmosphere is very lively. Try the seafood and dim sum.
4. Siam area
Then we went to Siam. Siam is the center of shopping. There are many department stores to choose from. You can walk here all day and still not get bored.
5. Chatuchak Weekend Market
Don't miss Chatuchak Weekend Market. There are many products here, from clothes to food. If you come on Saturday or Sunday, there will be a lot of shops.
6. Red Building (Bang Sue Junction)
Another place we stopped was Red Building, a very beautiful historical landmark. The photos will definitely look good.

Jodd Fair is just as fun. It's a night market with delicious food and lots of handmade products. The atmosphere is nice and there's live music.

Talad Noi, a hundred places to take pictures🥹
For those in Bangkok who are bored with crowded places, I recommend Talad Noi for those who like street art. There are beautiful artworks on the walls that are worth taking pictures of. When you go to Talad Noi, you have to take a picture with this old car. At 32 Bar, the chocolate is the best. It starts at 95 baht if I remember correctly.
There are also many delicious foods. I followed Alex's food list because I like Ling Om. I ate the chilled pork leg. It was the best. So juicy! 🤤 #StreetArt
For those who don't have a personal car, you can take the M and get off at Wat Mangkon Station. #100TravelTips

Take me to a cafe in Talad Noi.
#CafeReview
TravelDlux takes you to a cafe on Charoen Krung Road near Talat Noi. It's a small cafe that's worth sitting in. There are quite a few photo spots. Anyone who sees this green shop will definitely catch their eye and want to stop by for coffee and toast with custard. The staff provides good service. The coffee tastes good. Today, I ordered an iced latte and iced chocolate. It's okay. It's a standard coffee. You can stop by to recharge. It's not difficult to get there.

Check in at a new cafe, delicious coffee
#Flying to Hong Kong I often check in at cafes in Bangkok. I want to change my check-in location to Hong Kong.😍🌟
And yes, in this post, I am still in Bangkok. The Summer Coffee Company has opened a new branch in Charoen Krung-Talat Noi area. It is located on the ground floor of Wongwai Wich Building, which is considered an old company. The shop is made of glass in front on the side of the road. It is clearly noticeable. When you go inside, it is lively because there is a DJ playing music. It is so much fun! Customers are always coming and going. Luckily, we got a seat. The atmosphere is chill, comfortable, and a little bit fun.
For coffee, non-coffee drinks, and homemade desserts, you can order at the counter. We chose Summer Time, a signature coffee mixed with passion fruit and mango puree made by the shop.🥭 It tastes good. It has a rich fruity flavor. When it is combined with coffee, it feels perfect. It is easy to drink and very refreshing.
🕗 Open daily from 08.00-20.00 hrs.
🚘 Parking at Talat Noi Car Park on the opposite side (parking fee is 40 baht per hour).

[Bangkok, Thailand] A new spot in an old town that has evolved 🆕
The Talat Noi district stretches along the Chao Phraya River, south of Chinatown. It is a tourist spot within walking distance from Hua Lamphong Station. This area, which once flourished as a market and trading hub for overseas Chinese, has been transformed into a fashionable area dotted with coffee shops and cafes and restaurants that have been renovated from old buildings. There is wall art painted on the miscellaneous alleys, and it is recommended to stroll around while taking photos. Since the visit was before dusk, the flow of people enjoying walking around the city was calm, and I was able to enjoy the atmosphere at a leisurely pace. Next time, I hope to enjoy cafe time at Mother Roaster or Hong Sheng Kong. So Heng Tai
⛩️So Heng Tai or Baan Duangtawan, an old mansion that is over 220 years old. The mansion was built in Hokkien Teochew architecture, with a house plan like a wealthy lord at that time, called 4 houses surrounding the courtyard. 🏭 The courtyard is a wide stone courtyard in the middle, surrounded by buildings on 4 sides. The front is a prominent red archway.
The mansion has 2 floors, with a raised terrace in the style of an ancient Thai house. The floor of the house is made of golden teak. #Bangkok attractions #Talat Noi

Talad Noi, Charoen Krung 22
🛵 "Talad Noi" This area is considered a Chinese community area. Because the Chinese have lived here since the beginning of Rattanakosin. And it is an old commercial area located on the banks of the Chao Phraya River. Expanded from Sampeng area and importantly, it is easy to travel here and very convenient. So why wouldn't we choose to come here? There are old famous shops, easy to travel, many photo spots, and most importantly, the budget is not as high as you think!! 🚇 For transportation, we chose to travel by MRT because we thought it was the most convenient. Get off at Hua Lamphong Station (Ex no.1). #Bangkok attractions

🌈 Pieces cafe & bed (อ่านว่า "พิเศษ")
After that, we moved on to walk around #YaanSongwat. We walked from the parking lot about 200 meters to stop by for coffee and dessert at a special shop, which is a small secret cafe in Saphan Mon Alley. The shop has a loft and vintage feel, but it is quite small.
The menu we ordered was
☕️ Oat milk latte (80.-)
🍞 Signature bread 1 pair (100.-) Hot baked bread in the shape of a head, a special recipe of the shop, on top of cold homemade coconut ice cream. It was fragrant, creamy, smooth, not too sweet, very delicious.

🌈 Mother Roaster
A secret cafe in Talad Noi that is talked about a lot among coffee lovers who moved from Hua Lamphong to settle down at their new home in Soi San Chao Rong Kueak since 2019.
The atmosphere of the shop is an old building. The first floor is an old machine shop. It may be a bit scary when you enter. There is a strong smell of iron and oil. The second floor is the shop itself, a wooden house with a very classic atmosphere.
💫The highlight of the photo corner, we recommend the inside of the cafe. At the sofa corner with curtains and a drum set behind, the light is very beautiful. Another corner is the street art wall in front of the shop that comes with the concept of collecting the highlights of the central region together.
The menu we ordered is
☕️ Iced latte on THE ROK (100.-) The coffee is fragrant and smooth. It is not too strong and not sour. It is considered good.
🍵 Matcha Latte (100.-) The taste is strong. The shop does not add any syrup. It relies on the sweetness of the matcha.
🚨: For anyone who is going to use the bathroom in this shop, don't be alarmed. If there is a local cat sleeping while we are doing our personal tasks 😅 Think of it as having a little one to keep us company so we won't be lonely.

When we arrive at our destination, we will walk up the stairs to the 2nd floor. On the day we went, we met a cat to greet us. Inside the shop, the aroma of coffee is filled with the scent of coffee. If you want to sit at the bar and talk to the barista, there are many bar areas to choose from. Or if you want to sit and relax, there are comfortable sofas.
