Tennoji Zoo is conviniently located right in the city which is relatively easy to get to from Tennoji Station. It’s not a huge zoo, but good enough for little children to spend the day at. Entrance tickets are affordable too at just 500 yen. My little one is 3 and she enjoyed the zoo very much. There are elephant push carts available for rent which were a hit with the children, though we adults were tired from pushing them all day! There are animals we don’t normally see like the polar bear, sea lions, eagle and various species of monkeys. There is a small food court and a nice little souvenir store. Overall a nice place to visit with little children especially in a huge city like Osaka. Come here if you have little ones! #tripblazers

On the second day, we headed to Expo '70 Commemorative Park, built for the 1970 Osaka Expo. The 'Tower of the Sun' in the park is very impressive. The park also has botanical gardens and lakes that change with the seasons, making it a great place to relax. In the afternoon, we took a sightseeing boat in Osaka, enjoying the city's scenery from the river, which offered a unique perspective. In the evening, we visited Osaka Tenmangu Shrine, famous for academic success prayers. The autumn leaves and architecture in the garden complemented each other, creating a picturesque scene. On the last day, we visited Nakanoshima Park, an oasis in the city center with poetic scenery. The rose garden in the park is a highlight not to be missed. We then went to Daimaru Shinsaibashi, a department store that combines traditional and modern design, where we bought many unique souvenirs. Before heading back, we found a famous sushi restaurant in the alleys of Kitashinchi, enjoying fresh local fish, which was a perfect end to the trip. Walking through the winding paths of the park, I am greeted by the sight of various animals at ease: giraffes strolling leisurely, orangutans gazing into the distance, and penguins swimming freely in the water, all exuding the beauty and harmony of life. Entering the African Savannah exhibit, it feels as if the call of nature is in the air, with zebras and lions making me feel as though I am on a distant tropical continent. In another area, behind the clear glass of the aquarium exhibit, vibrant fish swim energetically, creating a dynamic underwater painting. Each exhibit faithfully recreates the animals' natural habitats, conveying a deep respect and love for nature. As the afternoon sun gradually sets, I reluctantly head towards the exit. Tennoji Zoo is not just a place to observe animals, but a vivid lesson in nature, awakening my reverence and contemplation for life.

The entrance fee is 500 yen for adults, making it accessible with just one coin, and re-entry is possible until 4 PM. It's also a short walk from Tennoji Station, so public transportation is recommended. There are two gates, one on the Tenshiba side and the other on the Shinsekai side, making it convenient. Although some areas are under construction, parts of the zoo have been renovated and look clean. The restrooms include small toilets for children and well-equipped diaper changing stations, so it's safe even for families with small children. Efforts have been made to allow visitors to see the animals up close, and there are many adorable animals that can be enjoyed by both adults and children.

After that, you can go shopping in Shinsaibashi or visit temples around Tennoji to complete a day trip. 🦁Currently, the zoo park is under construction and the area is fenced off. We were completely attracted by the penguins along the way. Groups of penguins were right in front of us. We could see the penguins swimming in circles only separated by a net. It was super cute~ 🦏We only saw one polar bear and one sun bear. They looked a little lonely and kept circling most of the time. 🦩The bird park is a fenced-off but relatively open space. There are several places where birds may fly over (dropping "gifts"). Be extra careful. There are all kinds of birds gathered together. Some are resting, some are swimming, and some are foraging. We enjoyed seeing the different animals in their natural habitats, such as giraffes, elephants, rhinos, hippos, tigers, orangutans, and flamingos. The zoo also has a reptile house, a nocturnal animal house, and a penguin pool. The only downside of the zoo is that half of it is under construction. The zoo is undergoing a major renovation to improve the facilities and create more spacious and comfortable environments for the animals. This means that some areas are closed off and some animals are not visible. We were disappointed that we could not see some of our favorite animals, such as monkeys, bears, and penguins. However, we understand that this is for the betterment of the zoo and the animals, and we look forward to visiting again when the construction is completed. Overall, we had a wonderful experience at the Tennoji zoo. The zoo is a great place to learn about animals and their habitats, and to appreciate the diversity of life on Earth. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the admission fee is reasonable. We highly recommend the Tennoji zoo to anyone who loves animals and nature.
