Zeng Guofan's former residence, Fuhou Hall, also known as the Yiyong Marquis' Residence, was Zeng Guofan's mansion. Located in Futuo Village, Heye Town, east of Shuangfeng County, Loudi City, Hunan Province, it borders Xiangxiang City, Xiangtan County, Hengshan County, and Hengyang County. It occupies a total area of over 40,000 square meters, with the main building covering nearly 10,000 square meters. It embodies a typical Ming and Qing dynasty corridor-style complex, symmetrically arranged along its central axis. Fuhou Hall faces south and faces north, with the crescent-shaped Aoyu Mountain nestling behind it on the east, west, and east sides. From a distance, Fuhou Hall appears to be sitting in a chair. The surrounding natural environment is beautiful, with dense forests and towering ancient trees on the hills behind. In front of the gate lies a relatively open plain, with a small river flowing eastward. Surrounding the plain are peaks and mountains. It is constructed of earth, stone, brick, and wood, with a corridor-style structure. Inside and outside, it houses various buildings, including the Eight-Station Hall, Qiujue Studio, Jiupu Studio, Yifang Pavilion, Siyun Pavilion, Babao Terrace, Jiyuan Garden, Fuzao Pavilion, Chess Pavilion, and a library. A vertical plaque with gold inscriptions on a red background inscribed "Yiyong Hou Di" once hung above the main gate. The granite platform in front of the gate fluttered with the Qing Dynasty's dragon and phoenix flag, the Hunan Army's general flag, and a "Ten Thousand People's Umbrella," creating a spectacular sight. Fuhou Hall, originally known as the Eight-Station Hall, was named after Zeng Guofan's family motto: "Studying is based on exegesis, poetry and prose is based on tone, affairs are based on pleasing others, health is based on avoiding anger, conduct is based on not forgetting words, family life is based on not getting up late, official life is based on not seeking money, and military operations are based on not disturbing the people."
