Accommodation in Taipei: The Place Hotel Nangang
【Light travel stylish accommodation】
The Place Hotel Nangang is directly accessible by MRT. Just take the MRT and get off at Nangang Software Park Station. But remember not to take Exit 1 or 2. Look for signs to "China Trust Financial Park" on the platform, follow the pedestrian bridge to the mall, take the elevator to the first floor, and the hotel is next door. Because I took Exit 2 when I arrived on the first day, the streets were extremely dusty and it was very awkward to find a place to cross the road. The mall had air conditioning and was much more comfortable.
To check in, you need to take the elevator to the lobby on the tenth floor. The counter is in a place like a cafe cash register. This layer uses blue to express the "port" of Nangang, the flowing blue ocean. There are seats for you to rest in various places in the lobby, and there is also a self-service check-in and check-out system, which feels very advanced. There are also fitness room facilities on this floor, and the mirrors have a lively and fresh design. After careful investigation, I found that Nangang has many stories. The designer also spent a lot of time integrating some representative symbols into the environment. For example, the red bricks on the wall represent coal mines, and the patterns on the ground are tea garden terraces.
I really like the yellow color scheme of the room! It looks very modern and youthful, and the whole look is very energetic and refreshing. You can see the view of Nangang city from the window. I always thought the design on the ground looked like a runway, but later I found out it was actually a ship's board.
The hole design on the wall is also very interesting. Information is hung on it with movable sticks, making the room more interesting. I used to think that Master Hotel was a rather old-fashioned brand (after all, it’s called “Master”), but it turns out that Master is a very young and trendy hotel, and the design of the rooms fully reflects this. Slippers, safes, eco-friendly bags, etc. are all hidden in the drawers, and the cabinet above can be used as a seat or to store suitcases. The tea bags and coasters are both refreshing and colorful, the welcoming rice crackers are in collaboration with a local tea brand, and the cute hand-brewed kettle is so adorable that you can’t help but take it out to boil water and make tea.
The clothes hangers come in three colors, and there are small hangers and hooks next to the TV for storing sundries. The hotel also supports environmental protection. By putting up a small sign, towels and sheets can be reused to save water. The bathroom is all white, with a few touches of color on the cups and bottles of toiletries.
I highly recommend the breakfast at Hotel Place Nangang! After eating it on the first day, I was looking forward to eating it again the next day! Drinks such as coffee, tea, juice and soy milk are basic, and fruits, bread, cheese and other things are also tempting. My favorite is this vegetable garden! Here are 12 kinds of organic vegetables grown locally using aquaponics and bean sprouts of different colors. If you take a few of each and drizzle some extra virgin olive oil on them, you can have a forest. I ate lots and lots of vegetables for two days in a row and felt very healthy.
