It's been several years since I last visited Xi'an, so how could I miss The Ritz-Carlton? The value for money at this Ritz-Carlton is exceptionally high, and overall, I'm thoroughly satisfied. 💳: Made an online reservation in advance. Check-in was super efficient upon arrival—big thumbs up to the front desk! 👍 Due to travel delays, I arrived quite late this time 😭 Hopefully can come earlier next visit. 🛏: Unfortunately, the room upgrade voucher didn't work out this time 😭 Ended up in a king bed room on the 9th floor. However, the 50㎡ base room is incredibly spacious ✌ Coffee machine and bathtub come standard, and the minibar is generously stocked, living up to 🌰's usual reputation. 🍱: Breakfast was at Xian Kitchen on the 3rd floor. Weekend crowds were heavy—had to wait a bit in the morning 😄 The spread was absolutely lavish ✌ Plenty of choices between Western and Chinese options. 🍴: Used the dining credit to try the weekend lunch buffet at Xian Kitchen (also on 3rd floor). The variety was even more impressive—cold cuts, hot dishes, mains, and fruits all available. The seafood was unbelievably fresh! ✌ 🏠: The Ritz-Carlton, Xi'an 📌: No. 50 Keji Er Road

① Style Experienced The Ritz-Carlton Xi'an – the design is very Chinese-inspired with warm tones. Though the rooms are smaller than W Hotel's, the layout is more practical. The room decor features fun little knickknacks, and while there's no lake view, the actual scenery outside the window is still pleasant. North-facing rooms are recommended for quieter stays. ② Amenities The bed is super comfortable, but the buckwheat pillows fall short compared to W's (W uses full buckwheat filling, while The Ritz-Carlton only has a top layer). Both have Samsung smart TVs, but screen mirroring works better here – it skips ads automatically, unlike W's ad-filled mirroring experience. The hairdryer is disappointing—neither Dyson nor Lefant. The oversized dressing mirror is excellent, outperforming W's. ③ Service Received welcome fruits and tiger-shaped cookies with Xi'an flair. Front desk staff were friendly, but check-in delays left one room unavailable until 4:30 PM. As apology, they gifted a Terracotta Warrior-themed lion plushie. ④ Location Far more convenient than W: adjacent to a major mall, with 5 McDonald's and 8 KFCs within 2 km – you can gauge the area's vibrancy. Nearby branches of Ziwulu Zhangji Rougamo and Yongli Barbecue (yesterday's dinner spot) are within easy reach. However, compared to W, it adds 10-20 mins' drive to attractions: Giant Wild Goose Pagoda, Tang Paradise, Shaanxi History Museum, Terracotta Warriors, Huaqing Palace, and Song of Everlasting Sorrow. Distance to the ancient city wall is similar to W's. For first-time Xi'an visitors, W gets priority for its proximity to sights. Business travelers? The Ritz-Carlton wins for comfort and convenience.

This time on my hotel exploration trip in Xi'an, I learned another fact, that all luxury hotels (ultra-five-star hotels, such as JW Marriott, Grand Hyatt, and even more high-end hotels such as The Ritz-Carlton) are loss-making businesses, and it is almost impossible for hotel owners to recoup their investment during their lifetime. The reason why so many luxury hotels are still being built one after another is usually because real estate developers want to obtain other projects, improve the surrounding energy level, and provide high-end service attributes to the area as a trade-off. A calculation can also show that the construction cost of hotels such as The Ritz-Carlton may be dozens of times that of the profitable Atour, while the room rate is only a few times higher (in Xi'an, a luxury hotel price depression, it is even only 3 times higher). So although luxury hotels seem very expensive, from this perspective, it is really a very cost-effective thing to have a group of people providing you with such an ultimate experience without making money. The Ritz-Carlton, Xi'an is a pearl in the Ganjiazhai area of Xi'an High-tech Zone. The hotel building is adjacent to the high-end commercial Zhongda International, and the same plot is Zhongda International No. 9, known as Xi'an's Tomson Riviera. There is also Xi'an's best Gaoxin No. 1 High School and Muta Temple Wanda high-end community nearby. This configuration makes me feel more like Shenzhen Bay No. 1 and Pengrui Raffles in Shenzhen. The first impression of The Ritz-Carlton, Xi'an is that it is a small and exquisite high-end hotel. The hotel's exterior and lobby are very modern and luxurious!

Arrived in Xi'an for the first stop of the winter vacation and bravely checked into The Ritz-Carlton. The executive lounge is on the 23rd floor and is only accessible to specific room types and above. ✅ Room Type Because I wanted to experience the largest executive lounge in Asia, I booked an executive king room (the price of an ordinary room type requires an additional CNY 799), and the price fluctuation was not significant. I communicated the birthday details with the hotel in advance, and the room was simply decorated with welcome fruit and desserts. You will also receive an exclusive commemorative room card printed with your name! The room's toiletries are all large bottles of Diptyque, and the scenery is very good. ✅ Executive Lounge Benefits The most anticipated part of this stay is the executive lounge, where you can experience five exquisite dining options and exclusive executive lounge experiences. 1️⃣ Breakfast 06:30–11:00 For breakfast, you can choose the Xian Kitchen on the third floor or dine in the executive lounge. This time, I chose the Xian Kitchen, which has a wide variety of options. In addition to basic desserts and Chinese and Western dishes, there are also Xi'an specialties such as Saozi noodles, Biang Biang noodles, mutton paomo, and roujiamo. The taste is really as good as that of specialty restaurants. 2️⃣ Lunch 12:00–14:00 Lunch is mainly cold dishes and Chinese dishes. The hot dishes are fresh, and the cold dishes remain the same. There are different special noodles every day. This time, I tried braised beef noodles and Northern Thai golden noodles, and the ingredients and taste were well received. 3️⃣ Afternoon Tea 14:30–16:30 Afternoon tea for two is CNY 328/set. Both the appearance and taste are online, especially the freshly baked scones, which have a rich flavor. I also tasted cherry foie gras, which I loved! 4️⃣ Cocktails and Snacks 17:00–20:00 Dinner is still mainly cold dishes and Chinese dishes. The quality of the Japanese food station is very high, the ingredients are solid, and smoked salmon is also available in unlimited quantities. In addition to the afternoon tea snacks, there are also new additions on the dessert table, so if you missed afternoon tea at noon, you can still put together a set on the spot in the evening. 5️⃣ Evening Dessert Wine and Desserts 20:30–22:30 There are seven cocktails to choose from, including both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options. When I visited the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda, I checked the route in advance and found it to be a smooth, less-than-30-minute journey from the hotel. Returning to the hotel at night, I could see the brilliantly lit ancient city walls in the distance, which was a fantastic sight. 🛀Wellness Facilities for Relaxation The hotel's wellness facilities were a delightful surprise. The gym is fully equipped with treadmills, elliptical machines, and various strength-training equipment. I worked out there every morning, starting my day full of energy. My favorite was the heated swimming pool. The water temperature was perfect, making swimming incredibly comfortable. I swam a few laps that day and felt completely relaxed. There's also a lounge area next to the pool where I sunbathed after my swim, enjoying the blue sky and white clouds. Additionally, the hotel staff is very helpful, so don't hesitate to ask them any questions you may have. Overall, I was extremely satisfied with my stay and would definitely choose this hotel again on my next visit to Xi'an. In short, The Ritz-Carlton, Xi'an is an excellent choice. Both the facilities and the service exceeded my expectations, and I will definitely stay here again when I return to Xi'an.
