The Xingchao Tianhou Palace in Haikou is said to have been built with funds raised by Chaozhou and Shantou business owners. It cost 70 million yuan and is very beautiful🌺. Most of the Qilou buildings are two or three stories high, with the highest being five stories. The facade is divided into three sections: the lower section is the Qilou colonnade, the middle section is the floor, and the upper section is the parapet. For commercial and residential use, most of the buildings are laid out as "front shop and back residence" or "lower shop and upper residence." Haikou Qilou Historical and Cultural Street has a rich folk culture, such as Junpo Festival, Qiong Opera culture, food culture, etc. 🚗 Haikou Tianhou Temple covers an area of about 1,400 square meters. It is the earliest Tianhou Temple in Hainan, originally named Huanhaifang, and has a history of more than 700 years. It is known as the patron saint of old Haikou. There are many small coffee shops on Zhongshan Road, but the storefronts are not very big, so you can search online first. 2. Some places in this area are under renovation, so pay attention to safety. 3. Bo'ai South Road is being renovated, and the street is quite chaotic. 4. Except for Zhongshan Road, all other roads are shared with electric vehicles and cars, so be careful when taking photos. 5. Some of the buildings here are very old, so try not to go near dangerous buildings. 6. The earliest Tianhou Palace in Hainan, originally named Huanhai Fang, is revered as the guardian deity of old Haikou. Haikou Tianhou Palace is the largest Mazu temple in Hainan and is also an important cultural carrier of Haikou, a national historical and cultural city. As an integral part of Chinese Mazu culture, the Tianhou Palace carries the inseparable cultural context of Haikou's old city district.

While strolling through the arcade old streets, I came across a Tianhou Palace built in the bustling city center, which was also quite magnificent, so I decided to explore it. Haikou Tianhou Palace is located on Zhongshan Road in Longhua District, and is the earliest Tianhou Palace in Hainan, originally named Huanhai Fang, also known as Tianhou Temple or Mazu Temple. It was built during the Yuan Dynasty and has a history of over 700 years, and is known as the guardian deity of old Haikou. According to the 'Qiongtai Records' of the Ming Dynasty, temples dedicated to the 'Heavenly Consort' had already appeared in Qiongshan, Wanzhou, Yazhou, and Gan'en by the Yuan Dynasty at the latest. However, the 'Heavenly Consort Temples' in Wanning, Sanya, and Dongfang have left no traces, only the one in Haikou remains, and its site is located on Zhongshan Road and Baishamen Shangcun in the old streets of Haikou, now called 'Tianhou Palace'. In addition to the Mazu statue for worship, Haikou Tianhou Palace also exhibits many ancient relics, including inscriptions and brick carvings that have been preserved. In the side hall on the left side of the main hall, there is also a special introduction to Mazu culture, like a small museum.
