Tianhou Palace is commonly known as the "Tang Niang Temple", and the palace is dedicated to the legendary "Poseidon" Mazu. Tianhou Palace was built in Yuantai Ding for three years and is one of the three largest temples in the world. Tianhou Temple sits west to the east and consists of opera buildings, masts, Fengwei Hall and Zangjing Pavilion from east to west. It is an existing ancient building group in Tianjin. The Tianhou Palace has been a meeting place for boatworkers. Every year on March 23rd (the day after the birth of the lunar calendar), there will be a church meeting where there will be folk festivals such as Gaochun, Fagu and Shige.
