If anyone is looking for a relaxing place to rest their mind, near the city but quiet, we recommend traveling to Repulse Bay, a legendary beautiful beach not far from the center of Hong Kong. This place does not only have white sand, blue sea and cool breeze, but also hides the power of faith by the sea.
My favorite spot is the Guanyin and the Goddess of Mercy located at the end of Dragon Bridge. The atmosphere is like being in a dimension that is cut off from the chaos around you. Bright Chinese art surrounded by gods in full force, but still feels calm and warm.
We walked under the Bridge of Fortune, lighted incense and prayed softly amidst the sound of waves hitting the shore. It was like taking a break for our hearts and slowly recharging our energy.
Repulse Bay is not just a beautiful beach, but a place where nature and ancient beliefs come together perfectly. And it is amazing in a way that words cannot describe.

I visited Tin Hau Temple near Repulse Bay, a beautiful and peaceful spot dedicated to the goddess of the sea. The temple’s serene atmosphere, combined with stunning views of the bay, made it a memorable experience. Repulse Bay itself, known for its high-end residential area, added an extra layer of charm. It’s a unique blend of culture and luxury, making the visit both relaxing and fascinating.

Address: Repulse Bay, Hong Kong 🇭🇰
The temple is dedicated to the Goddess of the Sea, two big statues of Hong Kong's beloved deities, Kwun Yum(the goddess of mercy) and Tin Hau. The towering traditional Chinese statues stand 10 meters high and are in sharp contrast to the ultra-modern high-rise skyline. It is a sacred place where people like to worship. The statues here all have meanings, and you can make wishes at almost every point. The place is located in front of the sea next to Repulse Bay Beach. It is definitely worth a visit.

Repulse Bay Goddess of Mercy
For tourists, traveling to Tin Hau Temple Repulse Bay by the sea is a good feng shui spot because the sun and mountains surround the back and the sea in front.
How to get there: Get off at Ocean Park MRT station exit B and take a taxi to the temple. The taxi fare is about 50-60HKD. There is no MTR station at this temple, so take a bus to the temple.
According to Hong Kong beliefs, step your left foot into the temple door and step your right foot out the door, following the clockwise movement.
How to pray to the Goddess of Mercy: Stand on the tile, facing the Goddess of Mercy. Then bow your head and meditate. You can only pray for 1 thing for yourself. When you have finished praying, look at the face of the Goddess of Mercy.
How to pray to the God of Wealth: The God of Wealth, the God of Fortune, is the God of Fortune, wealth and stability. Take a red 100-baht banknote with the numbers ending in 1, 2, 8, 9 as a Thai banknote. Then meditate and pray. After that, use the banknote to rub the God of Wealth, the God of Fortune, from top to bottom. To the money bag on the waist of the God of Wealth, put this banknote as a lucky money in your wallet.
How to pray to the Bodhisattva Sangkachai: It is a prayer for having a child. Make a wish and rub the belly of the god. Then, if you want a son, rub the head where the child has a bun. If you want a daughter, rub the head where both buns are tied.
How to pray to the Goddess of Mercy: The Goddess of Mercy is the goddess of the sea or Mazu. She grants a blessing for a safe journey without danger.
How to walk across the red bridge to prolong life: Make a wish and step your left foot onto the bridge. Once you have crossed it, do not walk back.
How to stand and pray at the octagonal pavilion: It is the pavilion with the best feng shui in the temple. Stand in the center of the octagonal floor and pray. Then walk to the carved stone sign and draw the number eight with both hands, which means endless luck.
