Irresistible satay and pork ribs in Kuta
#cityplaybook
Bali is famous for pork ribs (and satay). It’s fair to say that one misses half of Bali if he doesn’t get to have either of these. I’m not gonna make that mistake 🤣
Naughty Nuri usually is people’s go-to, but I’m lazy to travel to Seminyak or Sanur for that. But in Kuta, to find a place that serves good ones at a fair price to a single diner is not as easy as I wished.
After doing a lot of online research and trying out a couple, Warung Chef Bagus meets all the criteria best.
The pork ribs comes with a smaller (and cheaper) portion than other places, but just nice for single diner. It’s not the most tender ribs I’ve had, but flavorful enough to satisfy my expectation.
What exceeded my expectations was the prawn/fish/chicken/pork satay set. The prawn was especially delicious from the succulent texture and savory sauce on top. And all the side dishes from stewed pork to salads were absolutely enjoyable, with each of them being delicious yet totally different. Because I didn’t eat white rice, I was allowed to substitute it to more papaya salad, yeaaah.
The place apparently was the favourite for many locals and tourists, based on the photos hanging/stamped on the walls of the eatery. Indeed, it’s a place I’d turn to in my next visit to Bali.
