Visit Kaeng Khoi Temple, see Naga Cave, and relive the past of World War II.
Kaeng Khoi is located in Kaeng Khoi community, Kaeng Khoi district, Saraburi province. It is said that this temple was originally called “Wat Raeng Khoi” because when the villagers first came to clear the area for farming, they cut down a lot of trees. Only a few large trees were left along the Pa Sak River behind the temple. It is estimated that the large trees are hundreds of years old. Therefore, the villagers did not dare to cut them down. These large trees became the home of vultures or buzzards that came to find food and live in this area. The villagers therefore called it Wat Raeng Khoi. Later, the temple’s name was changed to “Wat Kaeng Khoi” after the community.
There are many interesting places in the temple, starting with the “World War II Air Raid Victims Monument”, which was built by the villagers to commemorate the deceased. In the event towards the end of World War II on April 2, 1945, Allied B24 fighter planes dropped bombs on Kaeng Khoi, where the Japanese soldiers were based. This damaged government offices, markets, temples, and houses. Many Kaeng Khoi residents and Japanese soldiers died in the incident.
After the monument, on the left-hand side heading towards the Pa Sak River is Phra That Chedi Si Pa Sak is a large white chedi with gold edges. Inside, there are relics of the Lord Buddha. It is open for the public to pay homage. The highlight here is the Naga Cave, the Naga Palace, which is beautifully built and open for tourists to visit. It is located next to the Pa Sak River. The interior is decorated as a simulated underwater cave, the home of the Naga. It is decorated with colorful light bulbs and is divided into rooms, giving the feeling of being in a real underwater cave. This makes taking pictures very beautiful.

"Wat Kaeng Khoi" is another beautiful and unseen temple in Saraburi. Tham Nakha and the Naga Palace are stunningly beautiful. Formerly known as Wat Raeng Khoi, it sits alongside the Pa Sak River. This beautiful, shady, and peaceful temple is the first thing that catches your eye: the beautiful white Phra That Si Pa Sak Chedi, located behind the temple, next to the Pa Sak River that flows through it. Inside the chedi are relics of the Lord Buddha. The temple also houses a replica of the Naga's underwater cave, decorated with colorful lights, creating a mystical and sacred underwater cave experience. It's truly a stunning photo opportunity. After exploring the cave, you'll find a replica of Phra That In Khuen standing prominently at the top of the cave, strikingly beautiful. Another must-see is the large reclining Buddha. Notice the reclining feet of the Buddha, which are bent inward in a graceful manner, unlike the reclining Buddhas you're used to seeing. It's a good idea to pay your respects and pray for good fortune in life.

Naga Cave, Kaeng Khoi Temple, Saraburi Province
Take a look at Wat Kaeng Khoi in Saraburi Province, a tourist attraction near Bangkok. This temple is quite large. There is a newly opened area, which is Tham Phaya Nak or Tham Nakha. When I went, it was not completely built, but the atmosphere inside the cave is beautiful and peaceful. The sound of flowing water makes you feel like you are really in a cave. There are also jars for lottery fans to pick numbers. Outside, they are building stairs down to the Pa Sak River. Inside the temple, there are also relics of the Lord Buddha and other areas, etc.
🚇How to get there: It only takes a little over an hour to drive there.😃
🚇For those who don't have a private car: You can take the Bangkok-Kaeng Khoi Junction train. It doesn't take long and you can also enjoy the view. When you get off the station, walk along the fresh market for a few hundred meters and you will reach the temple.
