Mountain climbing
Wushan is similar to Baoshishan Mountain. It is a small mountain suitable for leisure and exercise by the West Lake. Wushan Mountain is not high in altitude, but it has been a good place for sightseeing since ancient times. Climb up the Chenghuang Pavilion and look out, and you can see the scenery of West Lake, Qiantang River and Hangzhou City. It feels like you are in the air and beyond. "Wushan Tianfeng" is also named after this. Overview of Wushan Wushan Scenic Area is divided into four parts: the paid Chenghuang Pavilion Scenic Area, and the free Wugong Mountain, Ruan Gong Temple, and Sanmao Scenic Area. Starting from Qinghefang Street, it connects Ziyang Mountain, Yunju Mountain and Wansongling Road from north to south. If you go to Qinghefang Street Pedestrian Street, you will not miss the "Wushan Tianfeng" stone carving surrounded by green plants on the Wushan Square next to it, which is also the symbol of the scenic area. There are many ways to go up the mountain, and tourists often take the entrance around Qinghefang Street. If you go up from Liangdao Mountain Road, you can drive or walk. You will pass by the Hangzhou Museum (free) and see many old photos of Hangzhou. If you are walking, it is more recommended to go up the mountain from Dajing Lane in Qinghefang Street, where the scenery along the way is better. Walking from Wushan Square to Qinghefang Street, the first intersection to the right is Dajing Lane. Go up the mountain from the mountain stone steps here, pass Huancui Tower and come to Dongyue Temple. The two "Panlong Pillars" in front of the main hall are relics of the Ming Dynasty and are very precious. It is also worth mentioning that this is also a lively place in Wushan, with many stages and teahouses. It feels good to drink tea and listen to opera here. Climb up the Chenghuang Pavilion to enjoy the scenery. From Dongyue Temple, walk up the mountain road and arrive at the Chenghuang Pavilion, a building in Wushan, in about 10 minutes. When the weather is fine during the day, climb the tower and look far away. The scenery is the big selling point of the entire Wushan. If you climb the tower at night, you can see the night view of Hangzhou. The teahouse on the third floor of Chenghuang Pavilion can enjoy the scenery and drink tea. The price is reasonable, and the twelve zodiac stones at the exit are also very interesting. Although at first glance it is just a pile of stones on the ground, which is quite abstract, tourists always try to find their own zodiac signs when they come here. The Twelve Zodiac Stones, a hidden place in the mountains, can be said to be a transit station for visiting Wushan. If time is tight, you can return to the winding mountain road at the entrance of Chenghuang Pavilion and return to Wushan Square. If you follow the sign opposite the Twelve Zodiac Stones and walk towards Qingyi Cave, the further you go, the fewer tourists there are and the more strange rocks there are. Going down from Qingyi Cave, passing Ruan Gong Temple, you can reach Ganhua Rock engraved with "Sui Han Pine and Bamboo". If you look carefully, you can see the karst landforms and celebrity inscriptions in the cave in the Ruishi Ancient Cave Stone Forest. In the old days, there were many temples here. Today, there are still many believers who place various offerings among the strange rocks, which can be said to be a scene in the mountains. Baocheng Temple is also nearby, and the statues of Mahegala inside are not only exquisite but also very precious. In addition, the Sanmao Temple ruins and the Water-Splashing Guanyin, where the Taoists of Maoshan practiced, are not far away, and they are also worth seeing. If you want to walk more mountain roads, you can go south from the Twelve Zodiac Stones to the Yunjushan Revolutionary Martyrs Monument on Wansongling Road, opposite which is Wansong Academy. The whole walk takes about 40 minutes. Although there are many signposts along the way, there are many forks in the mountain road, so it is easy to get lost. If you plan to have an in-depth tour, it is recommended to reserve half a day. After climbing the mountain, you can go to the West Lake to see the scenery, or go back to Qinghefang Street to eat and buy some small items for relatives and friends.
