Many families and individual travellers visited this and it is actually quite crowded. Nonetheless, thanks to everyone that kept the place nice and clean to visit! #2024wish Kyoto has over thousands of temples and each of it has its own uniqueness. Yasaka Kōshin-dō Temple that located at this area is the one of most colourful small temple among all of it and it has attracted a lot of tourists to pay a visit in order to capture some instagramable and photogenic pictures. A plus point for the temple, it has a very unique way to worship where the worshipper can write their wishes on the colourful balls so called kukurizaru and hang them around the place. “Yasaka Koshindo” is a small shrine located in Higashiyama, Kyoto Prefecture. Although the place is not big, I can tell you that it is definitely eye-catching. The shrine’s worship area is decorated with colorful, round cloth bags that look like Japanese-style checkers hanging down densely. At first glance, it may look like hanging mobiles to decorate a house, but in fact, these decorations are actually a type of Japanese amulet called “Kukurizaru” or “monkey doll with its hands and feet tied together”. Simply put, it is a “tied up monkey”. According to legend, the mischievous monkey is like the human mind. If we can control our mind from being greedy and wanting too much, the god will help our prayers come true. We can buy a Kukurizaru amulet for 500 yen, then write our prayer, name, and the date of the prayer on the Kukurizaru and hang it up. Currently, many tourists and Japanese people come to take pictures and post them on Instagram, especially If you wear a kimono and take a photo with Kukurisaru, I must say that it's really great!

#fallishere The Yasaka Koshindo shrine is perhaps one of the smaller shrines that I have visited in Kyoto but one thing special about this shrine is how colourful it is! It's like a rainbow colored shrine that has been playfully decorated by all these colourful hanging balls. It is said that devotees would come to this shrine to pray and those colourful balls actually contain the wishes of woshippers. The shrine is so colourful that it is so instagrammable and many flock here just to snap pictures of this pretty place. You can cover the entire places within 15 minutes, it's really not that big but it's really beautiful.

Next to the Eight Diagrams Tower is the Daheishan Jingang Temple Bagua Geng Shentang, one of the three major Geng Shentang in Japan. It is dedicated to the King Kong King Kong (Geng Shenying). A bright orange-red doorpost hangs a black sign indicating the next Geng Shenri. The custom of Shou Geng Shen was circulated from China to Japan and continued to this day. Legend has it that in the Geng Shen night ceremony, the Qing Dynasty King Kong will eat the three corpses that ran out of the human body and slandered, and gradually evolved into the custom of Geng Shenri to worship the King Kong King Kong. Geng Shentang's praying horse is a "" (inverted monkey) bundled with hands and feet. Its implication is to bind people's inner greed desires to achieve a real desire. The colorful monkeys attracted many young people to accompany their pledges. Seeing such a seductive picture, I can't control the desire to press the camera shutter.
