Life advice: You must visit Huzhou's Yishang Street! It's really delicious
Huzhou's Yishang Street is located between Hongqi Road and Nan Street in the city center and has been the commercial center of Huzhou since ancient times. Yishang Street got its name from the dense clothing stores that thrived here during the Ming and Qing dynasties.
As a historical and cultural district of Huzhou, Yishang Street blends modern commerce with ancient traditions. There are many time-honored brands, such as Ding Lianfang and Zhou Shengji, attracting a large number of tourists and locals. Although Yishang Street is not long, every corner is full of vitality and a sense of history.
The black tiles are layered, filled with a sense of historical weight. The lines of the roofs are simple and smooth, with each layer tapering upwards to form beautiful curves. Red lanterns hang under the eaves, adding a festive atmosphere.
Although Yishang Street is no longer a gathering place for clothing stores, the presence of time-honored brands such as Ding Lianfang and Zhou Shengji allows us to find a wonderful balance between history and modernity. Especially those snack stalls full of local flavors, they not only fill our stomachs but also enrich our travel experience.

A Three-Day Trip to Huzhou for May Day, a Romantic Reunion with Sisters
💖Dear ones, how have you arranged your May Day holiday? My long-missed sisters and I decided to embark on an impromptu three-day trip to Huzhou! 👭 Departing from Hangzhou, the high-speed train whisks us away, Huzhou, here we come! 🚄
🌼Day 1: Huzhou Station → Clothes Street → Xiaoxi Street → Zhuangyuan Street
🏨 After arriving at Huzhou Station, we chose a homestay near Clothes Street to drop off our luggage, and we couldn't wait to start today's journey.
🍜 Clothes Street, a foodie's paradise! The snacks here are dazzling, each one making our mouths water. As we tasted the delicious food, we also experienced the local customs and culture of Huzhou.
📸 Next, we came to Xiaoxi Street, which seemed like a hidden treasure. The cultural and artistic items on both sides of the street made us stop to appreciate and take photos to remember. Every spot was so artistic, as if we had entered a small world filled with literary atmosphere.
🏞️ The last stop was Zhuangyuan Street. Although it is mainly known for its large restaurants, we still decided to take a stroll. Walking on the quaint streets, feeling the historical charm, was a unique experience.
🌙 As night fell, we returned to the homestay and enjoyed a quiet evening.
🌸Day 2: A Day Trip to Nanxun Ancient Town
🚗 On the second day, we took a taxi to Nanxun Ancient Town, about an hour's drive. As soon as I stepped into the ancient town, I was deeply attracted by its beauty. Small bridges over flowing water, hand-rowed boats gliding gently, willow trees swaying, blue tiles and white walls, it was like a painting of a Jiangnan water town.
🎫 The entrance to the ancient town is free, but some small attractions require a separate fee. We chose Xiaolian Villa, Baijian Lou (night view), and Zhang Shiming's Former Residence as our key spots to visit. Each place was so captivating that we felt as if we had traveled back in time.
🍲 In the ancient town, we also tasted the local specialties. Shuangjiao noodles, Xun trotters, Xun cakes, Dingsheng cakes... each one was incredibly satisfying!
🌞 On the third day, we spent a leisurely morning in Nanxun Ancient Town, then packed our bags, ready to go home. Although reluctant to leave, this trip gave us many wonderful memories.
🌈 The three-day trip to Huzhou deepened our sisterly bond. We left our laughter and deep affection for this city here. We hope that next time, we can meet again and continue to explore more beauty!
ALICIA DELGADO
Whispering softly, I travel to the south of the Yangtze River, meeting in Huzhou and heading to Nanxun
After the misty rain of the south of the Yangtze River, with its clear sky waiting for the rain,
I encounter delightful news in the ancient charm of Nanxun old town.
The ancient buildings are frozen with the traces of time,
And the small boats sway, carrying the mottled memories of the past.

One should settle down in Huzhou
"Mountains emerge in groups from Tianmu, waters beside Taihu Lake create harbors. Having traveled through the scenic lands of Jiangnan, one should settle down in Huzhou." Above there is heaven, below there are Suzhou and Hangzhou, and right in the center of heaven is Huzhou. Huzhou is close to both Hangzhou and Suzhou, yet it doesn't have the dense flow of people like Suzhou and Hangzhou. Located by the shore of Taihu Lake, its history of over two thousand years revolves around silk, tea, and the Four Treasures of the Study, as if it naturally possesses a delicate and scholarly temperament. After seeing the modern and colorful Moon Bay by the Taihu Lake shore, walking through the ancient Yishang Street that doesn't sell clothes, and tasting a few dishes from time-honored brands. The 'thousand-layer bun' was a first try, which turned out to be a bean product 'thousand-layer' used as the skin, filled with large chunks of meat as the bun, served with clear soup, it was still very fresh, sweet, and delicious, suitable for the Cantonese palate.

Huzhou | Two-Day One-Night Travel Guide|||
Route
DAY1: Yishang Street - Xiaoxi Street - Fisherman's Wharf - Xingang Lighthouse - Taihu Ancient Town
DAY2: Nanxun Ancient Town
Yishang Street | It's super hard to park here, it's recommended to take a taxi.
Zhou Sheng Ji ❌ Zhou Sheng Ji's chicken feet are the sweet kind, and they're not soft and glutinous, plus the noodles and small wontons are quite average.
Fried Chicken Weng ✅ Delicious, crispy and the meat is tender.
Old Xu Tea Handmade Lemon Tea ✅ The milk tea and lemon are a wonderful combination, it gives a very refreshing feeling, I personally like it a lot, recommended.
Xiaoxi Street | It's very close to Yishang Street, you can walk there, but personally, I think the scenery is average. There's a recommended Guan Ye Dessert Shop that's supposed to be good, but I didn't find it, so I didn't get to try it - not particularly recommended.
Fisherman's Wharf | Not many people go there, it's easy to park 🅿️ There's a ground parking lot. The scenery is pretty good, too bad I didn't dare to go down.
Xingang Lighthouse | Navigate to the China Railway Tunnel Bureau, you can park below, the lighthouse is okay, quite photogenic.
Taihu Ancient Town | Recommended to go on Saturday! There's a fireworks show and a water dance show. It's suggested to drive there because it's super hard to get a taxi after it ends. Going there around six allows you to stroll inside.
Shaman Lake Beach ✅ The best view for watching fireworks. Their grilled fish is quite tasty and reasonably priced.
Nanxun Ancient Town | Navigate to the Li Bai Library Restaurant. There's a parking lot nearby where you can park for free. It was drizzling the day I went, the scenery was very nice, you can stroll around at will, or you can take a small boat at the dock, you have to share the boat with others, 1608 per person, on average 20 per person, but it's recommended to go in the afternoon to Guangzhou.
Zhuangyuan Lou ✅ Personally, I think the double-cross noodles are enough. I ordered the double-cross big rib noodles, only ate a few bites of the ribs, didn't finish them, but the exploded fish inside is super tasty! A thousand times better than Zhou Sheng Ji's noodles!
Jiangxin Fang Pastries ✅ If you like this kind of pastries, you can buy some, they're quite good, especially when hot.

Yishang Street
Yishang Street's earliest remains can be traced back to the Eastern Jin Dynasty. Today, No. 22-32 Guanyi River Head is the former residence of Xie An of the Eastern Jin Dynasty. During the Southern Liang Dynasty, Xiao Xiu, the governor of Wuxing, built the Bai Ping Pavilion. In the ninth year of the Tang Dynasty, Yan Zhenqing built the Zhexi Pavilion, which was later renamed the Bilan Hall by Du Mu. The Song Dynasty's 'Jiatai Wuxing Records' states that Yishang Street was known as the main street of the provincial capital, the front street of the provincial capital, and the market street during the Song Dynasty. It was known as the front street of the prefecture and the small market street during the Ming Dynasty. It was the main commercial street of Huzhou, leading to the post station. As early as the mid-Qing Dynasty, it was named 'Yishang Street' because of the many clothing stores. There were more than ten clothing stores such as Wang Ji and Jiu Jia, more than ten dowry shops such as Fu Tai He, Wan Tai He, and Xin Tai He, as well as Chen Xinyuan Silver Building, Sen Yi Yuan Chinese Medicine Shop, etc. After the Northern Expedition, these bustling clothing stores gradually faded from people's lives.

Only when I came to Huzhou did I realize why life is only suitable for living in Huzhou
I spent a few slow days in Huzhou during the Spring Festival holiday, not crowded or noisy, full and sleepy, every day is a good day, just left, and I started to miss it.
【Local people took me to niche attractions】
Successfully avoided the crowd
⚫Old Street Tour
Tiefo Temple➜Xiaoxi Street➜Yishang Street
Tiefo Temple is still a flower bud, a bit regretful, Xiaoxi Street should be the coffee street of Huzhou people, drinking coffee in the old alley, very comfortable. Most of Yishang Street is snacks, and I ate the old Huzhou brands Dinglianfang and Zhoushengji.
⚫Wenshan View
To make up for the regret of not being able to appreciate the plum blossoms in Tiefo Temple, I went to the ancient plum blossom view where the plum blossoms are in full bloom, red walls, black tiles, and ancient plums, worthy of the real Jiangnan! Following the winding mountain road all the way, the ancient view in the mountains suddenly appeared, I like it too much.
⚫Walk along the river
Go to a place with few people to drive around
1) Around Taihu Road. Drive 25 kilometers from Zhili Taihu to Moon Bay, take a break in the green space along the way, and "see the sea" in Huzhou!
2) Dongtiao Creek Greenway. The creek shines under the afternoon sun, and the ancient trees and dead branches on the river bank sway in the wind, which is Olivia's "Walk along the river" into reality.
⚫Shangchun Mountain
The "Little Jeju Island" hidden in the mountains and forests of the lake is my favorite coffee shop in Huzhou. I just don't want to get together with friends. It's my favorite spring afternoon!
⚫Visit the old village
Diggang Ancient Town, also the feeling of Jiangnan Water Village, can be visited in 1 hour, although small but complete, suitable for the whole family to travel leisurely.
I spent a few leisurely days in Huzhou, I like the mountains, lakes, bridges and flowing water here, I like lamb noodles and pine hair soup dumplings, I like the freedom of driving along Taihu Lake, I want to go around Taihu Lake next time~

Huzhou two-day one-night travel guide So comfortable
🚶♂️✨ It's so comfortable! Go out and see, the attractions of Huzhou are really good, and they are full of cultural heritage. Let me write you a vivid copy about Huzhou tourism! 💼🌄
Day 1️⃣
Nanxun Ancient Town
🍓In the morning we arrived at Nanxun Ancient Town (free admission!). Because it is the off-season for tourism, there are relatively few people, and it is very comfortable to stroll around. And the night view is more charming than during the day, we also took a rowing boat, wandering on the water, feeling the tranquility and beauty of the night. 🛶✨
⚫Tip: Remember to go early, because the ancient town turns off the lights at 10 o'clock in the evening!
🍓At noon we went to Huanxi·Pufferfish Crab Powder Lo Rice. This restaurant is a paradise for seafood lovers. Although I dare not eat pufferfish, I ordered their signature crab roe noodles, which tasted really delicious! 🦀🍜
🍓In the evening, we took a rowing boat again to admire the lights of the waterway and surrounding buildings. The entire river is decorated with colorful light strips, sitting on the boat leisurely enjoying this beautiful scenery, it is really wonderful! 🌈🚤
Day 2️⃣
Clothing Street, Champion Street, Little West Street→Taihu Dragon Dream Circus
🧡We started today's itinerary and went to Clothing Street, Champion Street, and Little West Street. Among them, Clothing Street is mainly for various snacks. Although there are no particularly good shops to visit, the chestnut cakes, Dingsheng cakes, and roast pig's feet there are really drooling! 🍡🥓
🎈Next we came to Champion Street, although it is not long and not very lively, it is more suitable for strolling and admiring the scenery. And Little West Street has a strong artistic atmosphere, and many cultural and creative products are dazzling. 🎨✨
🍓In the afternoon we went to watch the Taihu Dragon Dream Circus (ticket 280 yuan). There are two performances every day, at 15:00 in the afternoon and 19:00 in the evening, lasting about an hour and a half. We chose a later time, although sitting in the back row, but the sound and lighting effects are very good! 🎪🎟️
🍓In the evening, we went to Wangjia Courtyard for dinner. This restaurant is not far from the Dragon Dream Scenic Area, and parking is very convenient. Their silver fish scrambled eggs are particularly delicious, the tender taste of the eggs paired with the fragrance of the silver fish, it is absolutely delicious! There is also Taihu white shrimp, fresh and delicious, which makes me memorable! In addition, their salt and pepper ribs are also very crispy, the aroma is overflowing when they are just on the table, it is definitely a must-try delicacy! 🍳🍤🍖
This is my two-day itinerary in Huzhou! I hope my travel notes can inspire and inspire you, and let you have fun on your journey in Huzhou! 💫✈️

Two old streets, a small city
Walking in Huzhou!.
The old city of Huzhou with dense rivers is a small water city connected by countless ancient stone bridges. Nowadays, in the well-preserved historical and cultural blocks, Yishang Street and Xiaoxi Street are my destinations for this trip. The two old streets are not far apart, and there is a not small parking lot in the middle. After parking the car, let's start to understand the story of old Huzhou from Yishang Street on one side!.
The alleys of Yishang Street are relatively wide, where you can see the houses of traditional Jiangnan large families, and the well-preserved old stage. Traditional Huzhou delicacies and popular drinks and snacks can be easily found on this street. The traditional old brands of Huzhou City are also on this street. Have a bowl of local specialty coarse powder, paired with Huzhou Xiaolongbao, sit in the antique old restaurant for a while. Turn the corner and you can meet my favorite tofu buns. Only when you come here can you feel that eating spicy food in Zhejiang is not necessarily in Jiande, and the salty taste in Zhejiang is not necessarily in Ningbo.
After satisfying the stomach on Yishang Street, go to Xiaoxi Street a few hundred meters away to take a look. The biggest feature of Xiaoxi Historical and Cultural Block is that the alleys are very narrow, and many narrow alleys only allow one person to pass. But here is the interesting night market and cultural and creative block of Huzhou City. It's so appropriate to come here in the evening. Coffee shops, small bars, and a dazzling array of cultural and creative night markets can attract the attention of young people.
From afternoon to evening, from Yishang Street to Xiaoxi Street. Two historical and cultural blocks with different styles connect the simple but not monotonous life style of an old city. Now I am very sure that I have been to Huzhou.
