The location in the Travastaere region is amazing, providing easy access to walk to attractions like Vatican City, Pantheon, Piazza Navona, shopping areas, and fantastic dining spots. The rooftop terrace was a perfect place to sit, savor a bottle of wine, and enjoy the sunset views. The staff were incredibly gracious and attentive, ensuring our stay was exceptional! Breakfast is highly recommended before heading out, as a good day starts with Roman Maritozzo and a doppio espresso. Marina and her wait staff made us feel exceptionally welcome, almost as if we were the only guests dining in the courtyard. The hotel, once a convent, even offers daily mass in its private chapel. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-furnished for our stay. The outstanding staff, location, and accommodations made the experience unforgettable. Coming back to the courtyard after a bustling day in Roma brought a sense of peace and calm. We look forward to bringing family and friends on a return visit.

Yide Road in Guangzhou is a bustling street in the city's old quarter. With continuous arcades and tightly packed storefronts selling daily necessities, dried seafood, and nuts, the constant flow of people creates an atmosphere full of the vibrant, everyday life of Lingnan. Turning from Yide Road into Jiubuqian, you can see the Sacred Heart Cathedral towering above. "Jiubuqian"—this street name sounds strange. A quick search reveals that this was originally the site of the Viceroy of Liangguang's office during the Qing Dynasty, formerly known as "Jiubutang." The government office was replaced by the cathedral, but the road remembers this past. Many roads in Guangzhou share this characteristic. The cathedral faces south and is built entirely of granite. At the time, while the West was already using cement, Chinese craftsmen still used traditional Lingnan methods: a mortar made of sticky rice, tung oil, and lime. At the base of the east and west walls, there are embedded inscribed stones: "JERUSALEM 1863" on the east and "ROMA 1863" on the west. When the foundation was laid, 1 kilogram of soil from Jerusalem and Rome was buried under each stone to commemorate the origins of Catholicism. Viewed from above, the cathedral's floor plan is cross-shaped. Inside, 8 giant stone pillars stand on each side, extending straight upward to support the pointed rib vaults above, making the entire space lofty and expansive. Rows of pointed arched windows line both sides, with stained glass depicting various biblical stories. On sunny days, sunlight streams through the windows, casting light and shadows that look like a carpet of blooming flowers. The largest "flower" is on the front of the hall, above the pointed arched main entrance, where a circular rose window is embedded. It is said to be 7 meters in diameter—isn't that huge? There are only 4 all-stone Gothic cathedrals in the world, and the Sacred Heart Cathedral is one of them—and the most unique one, because Chinese craftsmen carved the cathedral's drainage outlets into the shape of Chi heads. The Chi heads poke out from between the stone arches, their brows slightly furrowed, as if they are confused: where did the upturned eaves go, and why is there a cross on top of the pointed spire?

I highly recommend Rolê in Roma. We visited in July and did the arena Colosseum tour and the walking tour. The service was excellent, with great knowledge, punctuality, and it made a big difference in the trip to learn about the history.

We have been members of the Roma Bella association for about two years and have always enjoyed the knowledgeable guides. Yesterday, in particular, we visited the Vittoriano with Laura. It was an intense 3-hour tour, packed with history, curiosities, and anecdotes. Laura's passionate storytelling captivated us and truly conveyed her enthusiasm. She showed great patience with latecomers and genuine concern for a lady who felt unwell twice. She could easily host a TV show. Simply put: BRAVO!

We have just returned from our enjoyable Over-50 Canarvon Gorge and Heron Island Diamond Tour. Hostess Leanne and driver Chips made the trip both informative and fun, while ensuring we felt safe and comfortable throughout. Some of the highlights included the delicious meals, the fantastic Big Rig experience, and the rewarding, though challenging, walk into the gorge. We absolutely loved Greycliffe Homestead—the meal there was incredible, and walking around to see the wonderful exhibits was a great experience. The people running it showed great knowledge and passion for its history. My husband even played their old piano accordion, which amazed them—they were such friendly country folk. Then, we headed to Heron Island, where the crystal-clear water was truly breathtaking. We thoroughly enjoyed our reef walk. On Saturday, we took the Pink Amphibious LARC tour, led by two amazing young hosts. They brought us to Bustard Head Lighthouse, turning it into another unforgettable day. Finally, we spent our last evening with the crew and fellow passengers, wrapping everything up on a bittersweet note as we said goodbye. Big thanks to Leanne and Chips for making our first bus tour an amazing and memorable experience—we couldn’t have asked for better!

I enjoyed walking around the massive amphitheater, imagining what life was like during the Roman Empire with gladiator shows and plays that captivated thousands of people. 🏟️🌻 The architectural design of the Colosseum was magnificent, as were the minute details that stood the test of time. Although the venue was packed with visitors, the atmosphere was calm and solemn, making for an even more moving experience. I enjoyed standing on the balcony and taking in the view of the landscape that witnessed many historical events. 📸 Rome is full of restaurants and cafes surrounding the Colosseum, where we enjoyed a traditional Italian meal overlooking this stunning historical landmark. 🍕🍝 I highly recommend visiting the Colosseum, as it is an amazing place that combines history and grandeur, leaving you in awe.

Roma’s largest bottle tree, which has the incredible girth of 9.62 metres, a height of 15 metres and a crown of 23 metres, was transplanted by Roma Town Council to its present location from a local property in 1927. The tree was fairly well grown at the time of the transplant and quite possibly originated in the nineteenth century. Although seeing so many stairs, not walking has begun to have some weak legs 😅 but the above the Notre Dame Church is also worth seeing.
