If you know me, you know like 80% of my travel budget always goes to food, so booking this place was a very calculated decision because their dining options looked insane. Getting there was actually quite chill, though the Osaka underground station maze almost got the best of me. We walked over from Nishi-Umeda station, and it’s super near Kitashinchi, which is basically foodie heaven anyway. The weather was a bit breezy when we went, and honestly, the peace and quiet here is such a relief compared to the crazy, packed crowds over at Shinsaibashi. I booked a room on the "Gensui" floor (the 28th floor). It’s super cool because it’s designed like a modern Japanese ryokan but high up in the sky. You walk in barefoot on tatami mats, and they even have an exclusive SABO tea lounge just for guests on this floor. It felt so zen and fancy, I almost didn't want to leave the room. But okay, let's talk about the food because that's where my wallet literally cried (but my stomach was so happy). First, I had to try Sushi L’Abysse Osaka. It’s this French-meets-Edomae sushi omakase with only 18 seats. The flavor combinations were absolutely mind-blowing—definitely the highlight of my trip. For late-night drinks, we went up to Bar Bota on the 37th floor. The 360-degree night view of the city lights was beautiful, and the herb-infused cocktails were quite unique. Also, don't sleep on Farine, their bakery on the ground floor. I grabbed some pastries in the morning and the croissants were so buttery and flaky! After eating my way through the hotel, I spent the evening at the 36th-floor indoor pool and the traditional public bath (ofuro). Soaking in the hot water while looking out at the skyline after walking 20,000 steps was the absolute best feeling. It is definitely on the pricier side, but if you're a foodie who appreciates a quiet, aesthetic space away from the main tourist hustle, it's 10/10 worth saving up for.
