I took my family for one-day trip to Surin province. First we visited Prasat Sikoraphum which is half an hour from Surin city center. Hat or umbrella is recommended for such a sunny day. The temple is small but nice enough to drive out. Then we visited Phanom Sawai forest park including Big white Buddha up hill. There is sunset spot behind the Buddha with beautiful overlooking small pond.

Great gym and breakfast was much better than one generally gets at Thai tourist hotels. Also, the coffee at breakfast wasn’t the horrible instant crap one usually finds in Thailand. It was relatively drinkable without adding tons of sugar or milk to make it palatable. I often went for a second or third cup, it was that good. WiF was approaching 100 mbs a second which is pretty decent for a province in rural Thailand. Free underground parking with 24 hour security, not that it’s really needed.
