Germany's most famous castle
Neuschwanstein Castle is a 19th-century historic palace on a hill above the village of Hohenschwangau near Füssen in Bavaria. It's quite famous for its architecture, even Disney land seemed to copy the design a little... 🏰 Also the surrounding landscape is nice for hiking. ⛰️
Tickets 🎫: 30-50€, depending on season and guide
Due to the high number of tourists (1.5 million visitors annually and 8,000 visitors daily during the summer and sunny weekends), it is recommended to buy tickets in advance...
In the towns outside are some guesthouses. If they are too pricey, you can visit Neuschwanstein as a day trip from the bigger cities in South Germany!

Fairytale Castle along Romantic Road!
We made it to the Neuschwanstein Castle 🏰! This place is full of tourists and you need to queue to take photo at this spot. It’s not exactly super crowded when we visit due to the current situation in Germany.
You need to walk uphill for around 30 to 40 minutes to see this beautiful castle. Alternatively, you can pay Euro40 per pax to comfortably ride on the horse carriage (swipe left to see).
The Marienbrücke bridge is closed for maintenance when we were there which I think is a norm during winter for safety reason.
Lastly, you are required to book a guided tour and do a ART test if you want to enter the castle which we didn’t. We just want to take some photos, admiring the castle from outside and we are happy with that.
Would you pay Euro 15 to visit this famous castle?
