Kirstenbosch National Botanical
Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden, South Africa
Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden

HIKING LIONS HEAD
A SOUTH AFRICA HIGHLIGHT
Lion's mountain

Our 2 oceans road trip in South Africa
After a long 4 year wait we finally made it to South Africa. It was my wife’s first time in SA, and it definitely did not disappoint! Our highlight of the trip was our epic road trip from the east coast of the country all along the garden route to Cape Town. Epic roads, views and memories were made along the way. To say this was our best trip ever would be nothing short of an understatement. #gardenroute #southafrica #capetown #drakensberg #roadtrips
Beachy birthdays
#freehotelstay
What better way to celebrate a loved one’s birthday than with a picnic on the beach AT SUNSET!? If you’re looking for a dog friendly beach in Cape Town where you can kick back and enjoy sundowners, Clifton 1st is the beach for you. The view is breathtaking and the water will take your breath away (literally, it’s really fricking cold).
Clifton is a classic spot for a celebration, especially if you like to celebrate with your furry friends! If you’re visiting Cape Town or even if you live here and are looking for a sunset moment, Clifton is the beach for you.

Camps Bay Beach, Cape Town 👙🏝️☀️
Camps Bay Beach know for its stunning views of the Twelve Apostles mountains and its white sandy beach. It is a stunning beach with the most amazing views.
The beach is perfect to just relax and spend time with the family.
It does tend to get full so parking might be a problem once people starts going to the restaurants.
The beaches are clean and you have views of Lion’s Head, the Twelve Apostles and fancy restaurants.👌

Cape Town, there is none like you!
Can it be? A city with it all?
My recent trip to Cape Town was memorable, to say the least. A cultural hub of unique South African history and art, every landmark is special in its own way.
Take the Iziko South African Museum, for example, which is a national treasure for South Africans. Learn about the historical rock paintings, ancient artifacts and heroes who moved and shook South Africa.
Learn about the dinosaurs that once walked where we do now and the glorious buck and lion that graced our grasslands.
Marvel at the magnificence of the size of a whale by gazing at a real life carcass. It’s easy to spend a day there lost in history.
Afterwards, I moved onto the Two Oceans Aquarium. Now, I’ve been to the Shanghai Ocean Aquarium, one- if not THE- largest aquariums in the world, but boy was I impressed by what I saw in Cape Town.
The place is clean and friendly to those of all ages. Children were fascinated by the sea creatures, as was I! There were spots of interactivity for the little ones and chance to learn about our ever deadly act of ocean pollution. I gawked at the penguins that were too cute for words and stood amazed at how beautiful our world is. What a wonderful chance to see what lies in the depths of our oceans!
Walking about the V&A Waterfront is a must! There are tons of restaurants to choose from. And as you enjoy your delicious dinner, you are accompanied by buskers showcasing the true talent of South Africans.
And if you want to spend a day immersed in shopping, there is no better mall than the Canal Walk.
Unfortunately, I did not get a chance to go up Table Mountain as maintenance on the cable cars were being done at the time. But simply seeing this Wonder in the distance left me breathless.
There are so many places I did not get to visit- Robben Island, Devil’s Peak and Signal Hill, and I didn’t get to try the numerous fun activities scattered around the city. But that’s only an excuse to go back!
Cape Town, thanks for the hospitality and beauty. I’ll see you soon

Watching African penguins at Boulders Beach
Penguins and more 🐧
African penguins are named as such as they are the only ones breeding on the African continent.
But how can penguins, most commonly known as breeding on ice, be found under the hot sun of Africa? They can do this as they feed in the cold waters of the Benguela upwelling current, which is a very rich system but very cold too. On land they cope with the warmer climate by burrowing, emerging at dusk and dawn, and using the pink glands above their eyes to cool the blood down. They can also increase their heat loss by holding the flippers away from the body, so both surfaces of the flippers are exposed to air, releasing heat.
African penguins don't have feathers on their legs and have bare patches on their faces where excess heat can be heat. #beachlife #capetown #southafrica #penguins

Clovelly Golf Course - SA's Most Popular Course
Clovelly Golf Course
Voted South Africa's most popular golf course, Clovelly is a must for any golfer.
Located in the Fish Hoek Valley, Clovelly is a beautifully kept course with stunning views along the way.
Mountains border the course and provide a few challenges to the wayward golfer, especially on the 9th hole.
The course offers caddies and a few carts for those who enjoy relaxed golf. Alcohol is also allowed on the course if you're interested in some boozy golf, with the only rule being that you aren't a disturbance to others and that you remove all litter brought along.

Exploring Kalk Bay Harbour
Kalk Bay is a vibrant and beautiful suburb of Cape Town.
Located 40 minutes from Cape Town city centre by car, Kalk Bay offers a more rustic vibe than the Atlantic Seaboard area of town.
A multitude of restaurants are dotted around the harbour - notably Kalkies and Harbour House. Kalkies is a local fish and chips spot and Harbour House a more upscale a la carte restaurant. If you're looking for a local experience, Kalkies is your best bet.
Make sure you talk a stroll down the harbour wall, but beware of the seals. They're big and they bite!

Killer Hike but so worth it at the Top
The hike up was an insane 2 hours, but the waterfall you pass on the way is beautiful. The reservoir at the Top of the mountain is a spectacular view, especially at sunset time. Take a dip in a red lake after a long walk up, have a picnic, and take in the beauty of this location. Red lake? Yes, because of the natural fynbos that grows under water, it cause the lake water to turn red and my word it is beautiful. You also get to see the beauty of nature and the some indigenous plants on the way up the mountain so if you're someone that loves nature, this hike is for you! ♥️ #naturelover #hiking #enjoyinglife #capetown #tablemountain
Recently enjoyed a fantastic wine tasting at Maastricht Wines, nestled in the picturesque Durbanville Wine Valley near Cape Town. This family-owned spot has been making delicious wines for over 35 years. The wines were impressive, especially when paired with the superb meat and cheese platter. Penguin beach
Penguin Beach, located in Cape Town, South Africa, is a captivating destination that offers visitors a unique opportunity to observe and interact with a colony of African penguins. Situated within the Table Mountain National Park, Penguin Beach is nestled along the picturesque coastline of Boulders Beach, near the charming coastal town of Simon's Town.
What sets Penguin Beach apart is its resident population of African penguins, also known as jackass penguins due to their distinctive braying call. These charismatic birds are native to the coastal areas of southern Africa and are the only species of penguins found on the continent. Penguin Beach provides a protected sanctuary for these endangered creatures, allowing visitors to witness their natural behavior up close.
As you step onto the soft, sandy shores of Penguin Beach, you'll be greeted by a mesmerizing sight—a colony of African penguins frolicking in the crystal-clear waters or lazing about on the sun-drenched rocks. The beach is carefully managed to create an ideal environment for these captivating creatures, with designated boardwalks and viewing platforms that provide excellent vantage points for observing their playful antics.
One of the highlights of visiting Penguin Beach is the opportunity to go for a swim alongside these delightful birds. A restricted swimming area allows visitors to share the water with the penguins, providing an unforgettable and immersive experience. Watching the penguins gracefully glide through the ocean or waddle along the shoreline is a truly magical sight that will leave you with lasting memories.
Penguin Beach also offers educational facilities that aim to raise awareness about the conservation efforts dedicated to protecting African penguins and their natural habitat. Visitors can learn about the challenges faced by these beautiful creatures and the ongoing initiatives to ensure their survival. Engaging exhibits and informative displays provide valuable insights into the biology, behavior, and unique adaptations of African penguins.
Beyond the penguins themselves, Penguin Beach is surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty. The rugged coastline, with its weathered granite boulders and secluded coves, creates a picturesque setting that is perfect for nature enthusiasts and photographers alike. The area is also home to a diverse array of marine life, and lucky visitors may spot dolphins, seals, and various seabirds in addition to the penguins.
Whether you're a wildlife lover, a nature enthusiast, or simply seeking a memorable experience, Penguin Beach in Cape Town offers a delightful adventure. It is a place where you can connect with these enchanting birds, appreciate the importance of conservation, and revel in the splendor of South Africa's coastal wonders.

The South-Western tip of Africa!
There’s just something so special about Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope. It’s not just the stunning view of the Atlantic Ocean or even the unique plants and animals you can see in the park. Maybe it’s the fact that you’re at the South-Western most part of the continent, and the more you stare out across the ocean, you realize that there’s nothing else out there. Well, that is until you reach Antarctica. Truly one of the most beautiful places to visit in the Cape. You could even say it’s magical. #historicallandmarks #capetown #southafrica #Capepoint #Capeofgoodhope #nature #Ocean #atlantic

Views and Booze

To most, the famous 12 apostles hotel in Cape Town may seem completely out of reach financially, but what alot of people don’t know is that you don’t have to stay there to be able to experience the place, in fact, you don’t even have to spend a small fortune at their spa or restaurant!
The hotel has its own bar which is seperate from the restaurant and on a different floor. The bar serves drinks and snacks and offers stunning views of the ocean from the side of Table Mountain,
I had their whiskey sour and it set me back less than R100, the snacks were complimentary.
If you’re looking for a spot in Cape Town that combines views with booze, the bar at the 12 apostles hotel and spa is the spot for you!
My cocktail was delicious, we sat on the terrace which has a view over the Ocean (and a really good one too since the hotel is on the side of the mountain), there was a short waiting period while we waited for a table to clear up on the terrace and while we waited we sat at the bar and ordered our drinks.
We were able to enjoy the sunset out on the terrace while sipping on our cocktails and it was a really fun experience. If you can afford to stay at the hotel I can recommend that too but we came specifically to visit the bar and to enjoy their unique selection of cocktails. Along with our cocktails we were served bowls of snacks like pretzels, nuts and raisins, I especially enjoyed the wasabi coated peanuts, which seemed strange to me but tasted absolutely delicious!
I can highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a beautiful experience, or a fancy night out that won’t break the bank.

🇿🇦 Mount Nelson, A Belmond Hotel, Cape Town
#wheretogo
We had the pleasure to stay in Mount Nelson during our trip to Cape Town. It was no regret to pick this hotel out of the rest. The hotel's location is fantastic. It's conveniently situated and making it easy to explore the city. We felt welcomed upon arrival by the staff. The level of service was exemplary and they were so courteous, responsive, and always willing to assist with a smile. The hotel itself is remarkable with gorgeous gardens and an delicate historic building. Our room was a cozy one, it was spacious with all the necessary amenities bed was ultra comfy that I could enjoy a peaceful night's sleep. Extensive variety available for breakfast and it all tasted yummy. Will definitely return here for my next visit to Cape Town.

🇿🇦 Camps bay,Cape Town-A day in paradise!
#wheretogo
During our visit to Cape Town, we spent a day at the Camps Bay. I am happy to say that Camps Bay Beach does not disappoint! The beach was beautiful and vibrant. We love the white sandy beach with mountain views in the background and the crystal clear ocean. There are sunbeds available for rent if you want to chill on the beach. It was sososo stunning I couldn’t bear to leave and stayed a bit to wave watch. There are many cafes and restaurants lining against the coast of the beach. Do note that there are many street vendors selling their art but luckily they were not pushy. Also, alcohol is not allowed at the beach. We love our visit to Camps Bay so much !

A marvellous culinary experience
The Hussar Grill situated at the Marriott Crystal Towers in the prestigious suburb of Century City is definitely a place to go and experience the amazing food. Today I had the ostrich on a berry and rosemary glaze paired with a glass of red Merlot. Absolutely amazing. The Hussar Grill is a South African chain of restaurants specialising in red meats but offering other options as well. It was founded in Rondebosch in 1964.#Thehussargrill #ostrich #steak #steakhouse #marriott #Centurycity #capetown #Southafrica
Sandy Penguins 🐧
If you are in Cape Town, South Africa you need to stop by Boulders Bay and see the cute penguins! They are free penguins waddling around and enjoying their life. They take turns taking care of the egg and going to swim. When I went there were lots of babies and eggs. The area does smell a little bit what do you expect it’s the wild! It’s super great to see the animals interacting in their own environment! #penguins #capetown
