Trip Moments Recommendations
🔺 A Walk in the Clouds 🔺
Perched on the eastern side of the Himalayas is the captivating Kingdom of Bhutan. Its citizens call it The Land of Happiness, and for valid reason. The government and its royal family places more importance on the people’s Gross National Happiness as opposed to the country’s GDP.
Here, you will find sights you will never encounter elsewhere. A pure, unique culture and history the Bhutanese people take tremendous pride in. A sure highlight of traveling here is definitely the trek to Taktsang Monastery or the The Tiger’s Nest. Catching sight of the majestic, almost magical structure on the side of a mountain is nothing short of breathtaking.
Some💡: Traveling here requires coursing through a local tour operator as the country limits the number of visitors. This though makes your trip here extremely convenient and cost effective. Smoking among other things is banned here, so please be aware and mindful of the rules, as is the case when visiting another country.

Bhutan | Temple On a Cliff 🧗♂️
#localescapes
Taktshang, commonly known as the "Tiger's Nest" monastery, is one of Bhutan's most iconic and sacred sites. It is perched dramatically on the cliffs of the Paro Valley, creating a breathtaking and almost gravity-defying scene. The story of Taktshang Temple is steeped in legends and history. ⏳
The construction of the Taktshang monastery as it stands today began in 1692. It was built around the cave where Guru Rinpoche meditated. The challenging location of the temple required great engineering skill, with its buildings constructed on the edge of sheer cliffs. It's an extraordinary architectural feat. 👀
Taktshang is a place of immense spiritual significance in Bhutan. It is not only a pilgrimage site but also a meditation retreat for monks. 🧘
The trek to reach the monastery is not only physically demanding but also spiritually rewarding, as you pass through pristine forests and stunning landscapes.🧗♂️
Tips and Tricks ⁉️
🥾Hike up to the mountain may take around 1.5 hours. Make sure you're wearing comfortable shoes and carry plenty of water.
☕Half way up is a small cafe, where tea, coffee and some snacks are available.
Enjoy! ❤️🧡💛

Trongsa Dzong
Trongsa Dzong is one of the biggest and most immpressive temples in Trongsa. Amazing location high up in the valley so you can enjoy the best view of the river and surrounding mountains. The road to Trongsa is a bit scary. I would recommed not to go during a rainy day as the road gets muddy , slippery and this road is quite narrow. It gives you the feeling you are going to fall down anytime. Locals are excellent at archery. Don't be surprised to see archery contest. Bring your walking shoes and camera. It opens to the public everyday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Punakha Dzong
Punakha Dzong is one of the most important landmarks and tourist attractions of Thimphu. It is located in a serene surroundings. You have to cross the Punakha river on a swinging bridge to reach the fort. The whole place is very majestic and decorative. It is a large space and it takes almost an hour to do even a quick tour of the place. Lake’s water has a beautiful light green shade, you might think the pics are photoshopped but this is the real color. A good time to visit this landmark is in spring time as the place is covered with the purple bloom of jacaranda flowers.
