Vladivostok trip
We had an excellent day excursion from our cruise in Vladivostok. Our guide Pauline did a great job. She was open and flexible. Her love of her city warts and all was obvious. She put as much as possible in our time while getting us back with time to spare. From a walk to a lighthouse, to the terminus of the Trans-Siberian Railway, to a long walk through the downtown, to an interesting lunch, to drives over both bridges, to scenic lookouts and a final submarine visit, we had a great day. If you go there. Lots of public transportation there to go. Such as trams, taxis, buses. I recommend taking the occasional bus there. Because it is affordable and impressive. You can enjoy a lot of Russian specialties there. And some typical souvenirs from there for you to buy. Like chocolate, wow, there are so many variations of chocolate there. I hope I can visit there. Vladivostok is a major Pacific port city in Russia overlooking Golden Horn Bay, near the borders with China and North Korea. It's known as a terminus of the Trans-Siberian Railway, which links the city to Moscow in a 7-day journey. In the city center is Central Square, where a towering memorial pays tribute to local soldiers who fought Japanese forces in the early 20th century. #passionpassport #vladivostok #gooutside #awesomepic #urbanexplorer #bucketlistreboot #staycation #urbanexplorer

vladivostok
Vladivostok is a city in the Russian Far East. It gets really cold in winter so I recommend to plan your trip to Vladivostok from May till September.
✈️ Getting There - Vladivostok is located near Japan, China and Korea so pretty much the only way to get there is by plane. Vladivostok has an airport express train that will take you straight to Vladivostok’s city center, another perk is that the train passes by great sceneries.
🎠 Attractions - My favorite place to visit in Vladivostok is the aquarium on the Russian island, it has a lot of interesting fish and animals in there and the area outside the aquarium is just wonderful, it is right by the seaside.
Another great place to visit is the Tokarevski Lighthouse. When the tide is low, the shallow path appears which you can use to walk to the lighthouse.
You can walk along the seaside and the riverside, rent a longboard or a bicycle 🚲 at Naberezhnaya Tsesarevicha.
You can visit Vladivostok’s surf camp and learn surfing or just rent a standup paddle.
You can visit Russian theater and absorb local culture.
🥞 Food & Restaurants - Russian food is amazing, there are a lot of great restaurants with good service. Don’t forget it is in the culture to tip the waiter 15-20% in Russia.
Start with having Russian pancakes for breakfast, they are called Blini, they are often served with condensed milk or they are stuffed with cottage cheese, potatoes, meat, cabbage.
The next dish to try is Sirniki, it’s some sort of pancakes made of cottage cheese often served with sour cream.
There are a lot of dinner dishes in Russia, it would take me dozens of pages to name them all, just prepare your stomach to eat a lot in Russia because it’s just so good 😍😍😍
Enjoy your trip to Russia and don’t freeze if you decide to go in Winter ❄️
