Guilin: Longsheng sunrise at rice terraces
Longsheng is famous for its beautiful rice terraced fields and ethnic villages in mountainous areas. The well-known Longji Rice Terraced Fields were built along the mountains slopes wind from the riverside up to the mountain top.
You need to take a bus from Guilin to Longsheng to get here. it’s a perfect place for a relaxation. Just enjoy the scenery, observe the local people and they are lifestyle. Wake up early in the morning and go to watch the beautiful sunset that you will not probably see anywhere else. Local food is amazingly fresh and delicious.
We went there in the end of May when the fields were filled with water which reflected the sky and the sun. As for me I think it’s the best time to observe the terraces. However, they say November is also good as the fields turn gold and the view is also breathtaking.#guilin ##Longsheng ##riceterrace#china #trip

Rice Terrace Walks
🚌 We took a 2 hour bus from Guilin City centre at 09:00 and back again at 17:30. You can book this through the local tour guide agencies around town.
🥾There is an option to take the cable car, but if you are moderately active, take the hiking path down instead. It will take you through some villages, houses and get you close up pictures with the rice fields.
🥟There are plenty of local food options at the start and top of the terrace. Pack your own food and snacks for some energy if you are hiking as there are only 2 stops along the way to buy water/ drinks. #riceterrace #naturelover #chinatravel #longjiriceterrace

How many swings does it takes to get one shot
Also known as Bali Swing. You can find these huge swings set up all aroundbthe rice terraces at The Tegallalang Rice Terrace in Ubud, Bali. The entrance fee alone was roughly 10k-25k. The swing itself averaged 150k-500k ($10-35) depending on the swing location and dresses.
As the seasons switch, each plot does as well. Plots belong to several owners and they all work together to keep the paddies nice. It takes approximately 2-3 months for rice to fully mature for the picking. Here, you'll see some of the most beautiful plots of rice, strategically placed along the steep hills of Tegallalang.
During Covid, this place was pretty deserted and now, they are doing their best to revamp it. Gardens are being grown on the side of the swings and little local resturants are starting to reopen. To get to the lush green paddies, go down to the bottom of the hill and cross over. You'll have to buy a bottle of water for 10k (.50 cents). This goes to support the communities there as you visit and take photos.

Longji Rice Terraces; a bus ride to remember
As soon as we landed in Guilin we took a didi to the ticketing office, from there we were to take bus, one of the craziest bus rides I've ever experienced, often hanging over edge cliffs and the local ethnic groups getting on and off the bus, this.. was for locals.
The bus dropped us off at a terminal, where we were given the option of a taxi or a chair lift, we opted chair lift and I'm happy about that decision.
You get a 360 degree uninterrupted view of the rice terrace appearing from no where, truly a beautiful sight.
At the top you can walk around and look at the sheer vastness of this man made creation, how amazinf rhe irrigation must be, and there's also shops and small food stalls too.
The locals are friendly, and it's truly an incredible sight

Intricate Balinese rice terraces & stone art
Bali's rice terraces are a testament to the island's rich agricultural heritage and stunning natural beauty. Carved into the contours of the land, these terraces create mesmerizing patterns that cascade down the hillsides, painting the landscape with vibrant shades of green. The intricate irrigation system known as "subak" sustains these terraces, allowing rice cultivation to thrive in this tropical environment. In addition to its breathtaking natural landscapes, Bali is also known for its impressive stone architecture. Traditional Balinese architecture often features intricate carvings and majestic gates known as "candi bentar." These stone structures reflect the island's traditions. #bali #trip #travel #riceterrace #art #culture
