Turkey: Dalyan ancient tombs
Dalyan is one of my favorite places to go in Mugla province. It’s a charming town on Turkey's Aegean coast. I love it for its very slow and quiet ambience. It’s a laid-back town which is living its slow life near the river by observing the tombs of the ancient Lycian city called Caunos.
Things to do are:
1) take a boat to the beautiful Istuzu beach which stretches at the end of the Dalyan River. The water is crystal clear and you can swim there. Istuzu is one of the most important breeding areas for Caretta-Caretta turtles.
2) rent a bike and ride around to check the lush vegetation and breathtaking landscapes of the area;
3) in the evening walk along the Dalyan river and see the ancient rock tombs embedded in the rock facing the town;
4) another highlight of Dalyan is the relaxing thermal bath and mud bath in Sultaniye;
5)
I got there by bus from Bodrum. First I took a bus from Bodrum to Mugla city centre and then changed the bus for Dalyan. The whole trip took me 2 hours.#Dalyan #turkey #Ancient city #muğla #Istuzu beach
Iztuzu Beach 🇹🇷
#beachvacation
Iztuzu Beach in Dalyan, Turkey, is a coastal paradise that left me utterly captivated. Located on the southwestern coast, it's a sanctuary for nature enthusiasts and beach lovers alike. The beach is unique in its blend of golden sands, lush greenery, and the tranquil Dalyan River on one side.
During my visit, I was enthralled by the pristine sands that gently meet the crystal-clear waters of the Mediterranean. The beach is renowned as a nesting ground for loggerhead sea turtles, adding a sense of wonder to the experience.
What sets Iztuzu Beach apart is its commitment to environmental preservation, with strict regulations to protect the nesting turtles. It's an eco-conscious destination that allows you to reconnect with nature while enjoying the natural beauty of Turkey's coastline. A visit to Iztuzu Beach is not just a beach day; it's a journey into a pristine and harmonious ecosystem. #ukcreator #turkey #dalyan
The Quiet Town in Turkey: Dalyan
#Dalyan is situated on the Dalyan River, near the southwestern coast of Turkey. 🇹🇷🪂⛵🌊The town faces the ancient city of Kaunos, which is now in ruins, and features Lycian rock tombs and the remnants of a theater. 🗿 Riverboats provide transportation from Dalyan to İztuzu Beach, located to the south, where loggerhead turtle nesting grounds are protected. Sultaniye, a village on the northwest shore of Lake #Köyceğiz , is recognized for its thermal mud baths.
I recommend this town for whom looking for a place for one week resting! Especially from UK, you can have direct flight to Dalaman that is only 30 min away from Dalyan. 🛫🌊🐟⛵🏖️🐚🦀
