Visiting Strasbourg’s Timeless Architecture
In the heart of Strasbourg, the Cathedral of Notre-Dame rises with timeless grace, a testament to human ingenuity and spiritual devotion. As sunlight filters through its awe-inspiring stained glass windows, the cathedral becomes a luminous beacon that echoes centuries of history, culture, and unwavering faith.
The sheer magnitude of Strasbourg Cathedral is staggering, with its spire piercing the sky at a height that once earned it the title of the world's tallest building. Standing before its intricately carved facade, adorned with biblical scenes and ornate details, one is transported to an era where craftsmanship was a sacred art form.
Entering the cathedral is akin to stepping into a sacred sanctuary, where the grandeur of Gothic architecture converges with the ethereal beauty of light. The rose window, a kaleidoscope of vibrant hues, casts a mesmerizing glow upon the nave, creating an ambiance that is both solemn and sublime.
The Cathedral's interior is a repository of artistic treasures, from the astronomical clock that has fascinated visitors for centuries to the delicate sculptures that adorn the choir stalls. Each nook and cranny holds a story, a chapter in the tale of Strasbourg's resilience, cultural richness, and spiritual legacy.
Climbing the spiral staircase to the platform beneath the cathedral's spire offers a panoramic view of Strasbourg and the surrounding Alsatian landscape. It's a humbling experience, standing at the convergence of earth and sky, surrounded by the silent whispers of centuries past.
As you explore Strasbourg Cathedral, you become part of a narrative that spans over millennia. The cathedral is not merely a structure of stone; it is a living testament to the enduring spirit of a city that has weathered the tides of time. In every arch, every vaulted ceiling, and every sacred corner, there is an invitation to reflect on the profound intersection of human craftsmanship, artistic brilliance, and the enduring flame of spirituality. Strasbourg Cathedral is a masterpiece that transcends its architectural significance – it is a living symbol of the indomitable human spirit reaching for the divine. #tripstars #travel #strasbourg

Strasbourg
Strasbourg is near the border between France and Germany, so the city offers a very unique blend of both French and German influences, which is reflected in their architecture and cuisine. We spent one day exploring the most iconic sites, which included the Strasbourg Cathedral, the Palais Rohan, la Petit France, and just generally strolling down the medieval streets and popping in and out of the shops and restaurants. I would love to go back to Strasbourg in winter time to visit the world famous Christmas Market!

I took the OUIGO budget train from Paris to Strasbourg and duration was around 2.5 hours and cost only euro 30 one way when book early.
Recommended hotel to stay is Hilton Strasbourg which is approximately 10 mins by train from main train station and the area is more peaceful and away from the hustle and bustle.

Gallia area
Palais Rohan
Cathedrale Norte Dame
Botorama boat ride

The most beautiful place in France!
One of the most beautiful places in Strasbourg and in fact the whole of France is definitely Petit France. When weather permits this area is perfection with the reflection of the architectural buildings and trees on the river.
Every corner and every bridge in this area are so pretty and romantic. You will definitely find a perfect spot for pictures and every picture is instagrammable! Place Benjamin Zix is just right around the corner surrounded by many restaurants and cafes.

Most authentic baeckeoffe in Strasbourg!
When in Strasbourg, one need to try some local specialties and dishes and Le Baeckeoffe d'Alsace is one of the top restaurants to try these local delicacies. There are opened for both lunch and dinner and have indoor and limited outdoor seatings as well. One of the main dishes to order is definitely their specialties, Baeckeoffe and you can choose types of meat such as beef, pork, lamb, salmon and etc. I tried the lamb one and it is fantastic! And one portion comes with a salad as well and the baeckeoffe portion is huge and good for two to share. Pair it with any alcohol drinks and it will be perfect!

A very serene vibe hotel in Strasbourg
The hotel is located about 15 mins by bus ride from the Strasbourg main train station. Take the bus #2 or H right outside the train station and align at Lycee Kleber stop and walk about 3 mins.
The hotel is just located opposite European institutions and congress centre and has a very peaceful vibe. The check in receptions were very welcoming and the room is spacious. The gym is a bit small and there is a sauna room right outside the gym with two shower areas. These are open areas. Breakfast is available on lobby floor but the services are quite average.

Finest Gothic looking architectural church
Be sure to be there early as possible to. Visitation is free of charge to enter the church. You may take great pictures outside and also inside the church. There is also a viewing platform upstairs with a fee.
Be aware of certain people that ask for monies outside the church. These are scammers. Also there are plenty of souvenir shops outside at the square and also great cafes and restaurants facing the front of the church facade. There are also free walking tours outside the square at certain time of the day.

Incredible panoramic view of Strasbourg
One of the best views of Strasbourg definitely belongs to Barrage Vauban with the standing three towers. The best view has to be from the air as always and the best route is above the dam opposite the towers right across.
Take the stairs up to the second level and you will be able to see the whole picture. You will be able to view Cathedral Norte Dame from here as well. Be aware that the stairs will closed at 9pm during spring and summer seasons. This area happens to be the best sunset viewing platform as well.

The picturesque houses of Strasbourg
Strasbourg is famous worldwide for the Christmas period, as the queen of the Alsace region. The teddy bear decorations on the balconies and the Christmas lights attract thousands of tourists each year. However Strasbourg is also beautiful to see outside the holiday season, with less crowds and more serenity.
The most picturesque area of Strasbourg is without doubt the Petite France. It’s full of those unique houses with the triangle rooftops and the wooden colourful facades which create a traditional atmosphere and together with the canals, make the scenery magical.
Do not miss to admire the Catedrale Notre Dame de Strasbourg, the large cathedral of the city. Other attractions that you must definitely visit are the outside of the Tire-Bouchon restaurant (the famous house with the teddy bears on the facade during Christmas), the Place Kléber, the Pont Saint-Martin bridge with the colourful houses and the Place Benjamin Zix. Enjoy!

The Cultural German and France influence
Ever heard of this place called Strasbourg, I'm as confused as it is where some say its German some say its France but for a fact this place is a city in France where it has some influence of the German architrave culture.
The Iconic place in strasbourg is the Notre Dame Catherdral located at 6 parvis notre dame, 75004 Paris where this is a medieval catholic cathedral dedicated to the Virgin mary. The cathedral itself looks marvelous, somewhat you see in the movies but sadly it isn't open due to some fire happened sometime again and it's in restoration. But still you are able to admire the building from the outside, especially the colourful glass tainted windows. Also the city of Strasbourg has many medieval buildings and its a sight to see.
Lastly, do not forget to visit L'atelier 116 located at 116 grand rule, 67000 strasbourg where they serve amazing breakfast, basically this is a artisans bakery and passtierie where its made and baked on site. Well, it's France isn't it, this is the motherland of all pastries!
