The "Wieliczka" Salt Mine
The "Wieliczka" Salt Mine - a rock salt mine in Wieliczka near Krakow. From the 13th century to 1772, together with the "Bochnia" salt mine, it was part of the Kraków Saltworks. The salts mined in the mine come from the Miocene.
In 1976, the mine was entered into the national register of monuments. Two years later, it was entered by UNESCO on the first World Heritage List. In 1989, the “Wieliczka” Salt Mine was added to the List of World Heritage in Danger, from which it was removed in 1998. Since 1994, it has also been a monument to the history of Poland. On June 30, 1996, mining of the deposit was completely discontinued. In 2007, the "Wieliczka" Salt Mine was recognized as one of the seven wonders of Poland in the "Rzeczpospolita" plebiscite, winning the largest number of votes.
The underground tourist route of the Wieliczka mine was established at the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries. About a million tourists annually visit about 3 km of the route consisting of 20 chambers, located at depths from 64 to 135 meters (levels I - III). There are about 800 stairs to overcome on the route. Part of the route is wheelchair accessible. The tour lasts about 2-3 hours. On the official website of the monument, you can take a virtual walk around the object.

If activities are your main drive, then Rudolf Mine has a range of fun activities for kids and adults including an amphitheatre, sports pitch, bowling, mini-golf, table tennis etc. and a panoramic wheel/ Ferris wheel located 120m underground.
Continue in the Theresa Mine, where you can even rent a boat on the salty lake and see the mine from a different perspective.
Overall, we had a great time at the salt mine and would highly recommend it. Definitely worth visiting and a must do for the next time you are in Romania. It’s a great day out for families, friends and solo travellers and really unique.

Checkinaway (@checkinawayblog) Unique facial in a salt cave
Address - Pablo Blau Spa, Raffles City Shopping Centre, 252 North Bridge Road, #02-26A, Singapore 179103
Situated on level 2 of Raffles City Shopping Centre, you can find Pablo Blau Spa along one of the inner walkways, which is not the easiest to find. But when I did finally find the place, it was very luxuriously designed and furnished.
The wait area had comfy modern seating and there was a nice smell that lingered in the air. What was most impressive was the signature salt rooms which are made of actual salt to emulate the salt caves. Apparently it helps clear your airways and cleanse your system with its natural anti-bacterial properties. Quite nice!
My overall rating of the experience: 4 out of 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

White lake and Salt Baths in the South
Pamukkale is one of the most visited spot in Southern Turkey because of its unique Thermal Salt baths. Salt and minerals compounded and created the white bed of salter baths across the area of Pamukkale. Its best to visit in Spring and Autumn they say, you can swim and dip in the baths though water are too shallow and even dries out in summer.

A glimpse to an ancient salt town
There are three ancient salt towns in Yunnan. If you want to visit them, prepare for an odd experience to ancient China. Nuodeng, in Yunlong county, is a hidden gem for salt and tea. If you chose to visit, prepare for an out of ordinary walk (hike) within the Bai minority’s most important cultural and architectural heritage of Ming and Qing dynasties.
Nuodeng is over 2,000 years old, and was one of the richest salt town in ancient China as belong to the Tea Horse Road. Nuodeng was also center of old Salt/Tea road connecting Dali (160km east), Baoshan, Tengchong-Birman, and Lijiang-Tibet in the north.
Most of the structures are made from mud, while part of the town looks a bit ‘modern’, most houses are quite old. Roads are mainly dirt, with a few stone or pavement ones, so wear the right shoes to enjoy the architecture that has endured for centuries.
This town very traditional, inhabitants mostly speak local language, therefore basic Mandarin should be important to manage. Also, you get to see salt wells and meat drying like old times. This village might feel like a labyrinth, but you can enjoy your time and shopping to invest in local economy (very cheap).
