Okada Fishing Port: A Seafood Culinary Journey, Great Value for Money.
Located in a corner of Tokyo Bay, Okada Fishing Port is by far the most unforgettable seafood culinary journey I have ever taken. This historic old fishing village not only retains its unique island charm but has also cultivated a distinctive seafood cuisine culture, providing us with an unprecedented feast for the senses.
At Okada Fish Market, one can see a plethora of lively and jumping fish such as kinmedai (splendid alfonsino) and tuna, creating the illusion of being in an underwater world. The auction process is filled with cheers and the loud calls of the fish sellers, making for an energetic and interesting scene.
After visiting the fish market, we headed to the seafood snack street near the port, where the strong island atmosphere is immediately apparent. Restaurants decorated with fishing nets and amusement facilities can be seen everywhere, along with stalls grilling lobsters and fresh fish on the spot, bringing back the bustling scene of the old street. We tasted several exquisite seafood dishes in a time-honored restaurant, including freshly cut sashimi of toro fish with a refreshing pickled vegetable soup, and a Japanese-style hot pot made with luxurious ingredients such as lobster and scallops, which was truly unparalleled.
This trip to Okada Port is undoubtedly a unique and unforgettable gourmet seafood experience. The lakeside scenery is picturesque, with mountain peaks reflected on the lake surface, a sight too beautiful for words.
There is a peaceful lawn by the lake, where I enjoy the gifts of nature. There is also a trail around the lake, allowing me to appreciate the lake and mountain views up close.
On the trail, various wildlife, such as birds and small animals, add an element of fun and surprise. Lake Tanuki not only offers beautiful scenery but is also a great place for leisure and entertainment, where one can feel the tranquility and beauty of nature. This lake brings me peace and serenity, serving as a natural haven away from the city's noise.
Inodagiri Castle Ruins - Traces of Time.
Visiting the Inodagiri Castle ruins, stepping onto the grassy grounds, the long-neglected stone walls stand silently, filled with the traces of time. Despite this, the landscape planning within the castle remains clearly discernible.
Listening to the guide's explanation, it becomes apparent that this place was once an important transportation hub. Merchants from various places would come pulling their carts outside the castle walls, while inside, life thrived. Walking on the cobblestone paths is like stepping back onto the historical stage, feeling the hustle and bustle of the past.
As dusk falls, lingering by the lakeside, the reflection of the castle walls in the water stirs a sense of grandeur. This short trip has introduced me to a story that has settled into the land.
Nezu Shrine in Tokyo: A Serene Zen Sanctuary
Stepping into the historic Nezu Shrine in Tokyo is like entering a scroll of ink painting brimming with the essence of a Shinto sanctuary. The bright red torii gates stand majestically before you, their smooth traditional architectural lines exuding an ancient and elegant Japanese charm. The pebbled path under the torii winds its way upwards, with several clusters of plum blossoms blooming alongside, appearing exceptionally ethereal and elegant against the backdrop of the morning mist.
Following the path, you pass by a stone basin used for ritual cleansing, where the water's surface sparkles and the sound of flowing water seems to compose a melody of nature's tranquility and peace. Suddenly, a grand shrine building looms at the end of your view. The soaring rooflines of the shrine are strong and vigorous, and the structure's layout follows strict symmetry, revealing a simple yet uncontrived noble elegance.
Thus, we step by step enter this ancient and majestic shrine, immersing ourselves in the unique Zen atmosphere of Japanese shrine architecture. Mount Sogaku, Climbing into the Clouds and Mist
Stepping onto the heights of Mount Sogaku is like thinly entering a celestial realm of clouds and mist. The morning fog hovers and swirls around the mountainside, casting a layer of hazy mystery over the entire mountain range. As the sun begins to rise, its afterglow penetrates the clouds and mist, sprinkling down faint golden light at the summit, reflecting off the surrounding white clouds, creating a stunningly beautiful and dreamy spectacle of light and shadow.
We follow the mountain trail upwards, with the sea of clouds sometimes rolling and drifting at our feet, and at other times spreading out a hazy and ethereal flow in the corner of our view, as if we are in a fantasy land above the clouds. Occasionally, when the mist disperses, the majestic mountainous presence of Mount Sogaku can be fully appreciated, its towering peaks even more imposing surrounded by the sea of clouds.
Thus, we climb slowly through the hazy and delicate mist, feeling the steepness of the terrain under our feet and the quiet and mysterious atmosphere of the sea of clouds. Being in the midst of it all, it's as if we have merged with this celestial landscape of clouds, and the deepest, purest longing for life within us is magnified bit by bit, as if becoming one with this realm, gaining a new understanding that purifies the soul. At this moment, the spirit is unprecedentedly liberated, finding eternal clarity and freedom.
Shikinejima: Japanese-Style Scenic Mountain and Sea Views.
Located near Tokyo, Shikinejima Island seems like a step into a Japanese-style painting of a paradisiacal landscape surrounded by mountains and sea. The first thing that hits you is the fresh scent of sea salt mixed with a hint of savory fragrance, almost like the island's unique body scent.
As we follow the cobblestone path, wild grasses and reeds sway gracefully on both sides, with clusters of shy white plum blossoms blooming amongst them, exuding a pure and fragrant aroma. The chirping of birds intermittently fills the air, composing a vibrant natural symphony for this natural scenery.
Suddenly, a tranquil bay unfolds before us, with an endless, mirror-like sea, occasionally dotted by fishing boats sailing far off where the sky meets the water. The shore is adorned with a few Japanese-style cottages with red tiles and white walls, nestled among the lush greenery, adding a touch of soft and elegant vitality to this peaceful and serene setting.
Thus, we wander through this pristine and vast natural landscape of the island, where our simple and honest longing for life is magnified bit by bit. Being here feels like becoming one with this Japanese-style mountain and sea scenery, finding the purest and most natural state of life, and gaining a new understanding and appreciation for the love of life.
Samurai Museum: Edo Sentiment, Feeling the Historical Echoes of Ancient Architecture
Stepping into the Samurai Museum, this Japanese architectural park, is like being in the midst of a vibrant Edo-period scroll. The rough wooden buildings stand tall and proud, exuding a quiet samurai dominance. Pushing open the heavy sliding doors, a neat Japanese garden appears, with a tranquil, mirror-like pond lying quietly at its center, reflecting the tall and upright dry landscape by the poolside.
We tread carefully along the corridor, the wooden floor creaking underfoot, as if echoing the historical resonance of this ancient architecture. Deep in the courtyard, a staggered and majestic Japanese gazebo stands tall, appearing especially imposing and solemn against the backdrop of the mist. Inside the gazebo, lifelike samurai armors are displayed, with the iron armor reflecting a cold, silvery light in the sunlight, adding a strong and dominant aura to the garden.
As we stroll slowly through this samurai-inspired park, the sound of trickling water occasionally reaches our ears, as if conveying the long years of this samurai garden. Being there, our hearts are naturally infected by this strong and dominant atmosphere, making our pursuit and aspirations in life robust and powerful, filled with the firm determination of a valiant warrior, just like an indomitable Japanese samurai.

【Tokyo Recommendations】Try the Midori flagship store to see if it can be better than the Hong Kong branch.
As far as chain sushi restaurants go, Midori👆🏻 is probably one of the more famous ones, aside from the Tuna Belly King, and it's really good😋. There are several branches in Hong Kong~~ When I came to Tokyo🗼, I made up my mind with my boss to go to the flagship store to see if it's as good as the branch, or if the flagship store's halo😇 always makes it taste better?🤣
As soon as we arrived, OK, we had to queue🤦🏻. Actually, it was just after opening, 📣‼️ I suggest everyone arrive 15 to 20 minutes before opening to queue at the door, so you should be able to get in on the first round.‼️📣
Once inside, the chefs👨🏻🍳 were already very enthusiastic in welcoming us in Japanese, and the waiters were also very attentive in explaining to us that ‼️the black plate in front is for the chef's use, and for the sushi🍣 ordered à la carte, the chef will place each piece on the long black plate for us to eat,‼️ reminding us not to mess with the plate, otherwise the chef would be unhappy.🤣‼️
We ordered a lot of food, but we also deliberately chose some items that are available in Hong Kong, because we wanted to compare how much better the flagship store in Japan is.😆 We ordered seaweed miso soup🥣, crab meat and crab paste salad🥗, shellfish🐚 Combo, tuna🐟 Combo, green onion tuna belly rice roll, and many individual sushi pieces🍣.
Let's talk about the seaweed miso soup first. In Hong Kong, red👹 miso is commonly used, but for some reason, white⚪️ miso is used in Japan, and I feel that the one in Hong Kong tastes better.
As for the crab meat and crab paste salad🥗, shellfish🐚 Combo, and tuna🐟 Combo, Hong Kong really can't compare. It's not that Hong Kong isn't delicious, it's already very good, but the flagship store is on a higher🆙🆙 level of deliciousness.
While eating, the boss, being naughty, tried to move the tuna from the wooden plate to the long black plate to make it easier for himself to pick up, and immediately the chef looked at him👀, creating a lot of pressure. Remember, the long black plate is not for our convenience in eating sushi🍱, it's a kind of persistence by the Japanese chefs✊, and as guests, we should respect the Japanese culture.🛎️
Enoshima Sea Candle Lighthouse
The Enoshima Sea Candle Lighthouse, also known as the Enoshima Sea Lighthouse, is located in Fujisawa City, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan, and is a symbolic structure of the Shonan area. After being renovated and reopened in 2003, it has become a popular tourist attraction. From the lighthouse, visitors can enjoy a 360-degree view of the Kamakura and Enoshima areas, and on clear days, they can even see the full view of Mount Fuji.
At night, the lighthouse and the surrounding Samuel Cocking Garden are illuminated, creating a romantic atmosphere and becoming one of the most famous night views in the Kanto region. Especially from November to March, the famous lighting event is held here, where colorful lights and tulips in full bloom create a delightful visual feast for visitors.
In addition, the 'Sunset Pavilion' located below the lighthouse offers a perfect platform for admiring the beauty of the sunset, rivaling the views from the observation room. Visitors can also enjoy hot coffee or other beverages here, making the night outing experience in Enoshima even more perfect.
Kamakura Attractions: Tsurugaoka Hachimangu, Embrace Tradition and Serenity
Tsurugaoka Hachimangu, located in Kamakura City, Japan, is a shrine with a history of over 800 years. It is not only a symbol of Kamakura but also an important witness to Japanese history and culture. The shrine is dedicated to Hachiman, the patron god of warriors, and is closely related to Japan's samurai culture.
The shrine's current location is in the center of Kamakura City and is considered the soul of the city by local residents. Passing through the red torii gate tunnel in the center of Kamakura City, one arrives at this sacred place. Along the shrine's approach, there are two ponds representing the Genji and Heike clans, with the peony garden beside the ponds being particularly beautiful in spring.
Every April, Tsurugaoka Hachimangu holds a grand festival that attracts thousands of visitors. The Yabusame archery event in September is also a major tourist attraction. In addition to festivals, the shrine has many historical buildings worth seeing, such as the dance hall and museum, which display the shrine's precious cultural assets.
Visiting Tsurugaoka Hachimangu allows one to not only experience Japanese tradition and history but also to find inner peace and serenity.
Tokyo | A 'Thought-Provoking' Design Coffee Shop.
A design store that completely grows on my aesthetic! Combining coffee, stationery, home goods, and miscellaneous items in one, it integrates a multi-functional exhibition hall and brand studio to create what is called a 'thought-provoking' space — 'Transcend the boundaries of life and work, and think!'
Located between Harajuku and Sendagaya, Think of Things is a concept store by the Japanese stationery brand Kokuyo. The store's space is dominated by blue and white, clean and cute, displaying a variety of designer furniture and selected stationery. It's truly a paradise for stationery lovers!
The coffee is made from beans roasted by Obscura Coffee Roasters in Sangenjaya. I ordered a hand-drip Costa Rica, which is full of honey aroma and a slight apple-flavored acidity, rich in fragrance. I decisively bought beans to take home!
📍3-62-1 Sendagaya, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo (3 minutes walk from Harajuku Station Takeshita Exit)

Koganji Temple's Golden Mimosa in Full Bloom
The golden mimosa at Koganji Temple is nearly in full bloom. I captured this on February 19th with my camera📷. It's the last day in Tokyo and I was lucky to see it😍. For those in Tokyo, now is the time to go before the crowds arrive and get some beautiful shots💛
In the past, the temple would announce the full bloom date on their official website. This year, they haven't made an official announcement yet, but the flowers are already fully blooming on-site. Once the nearby Kawazu cherry trees bloom, you'll be able to capture a dreamy scene with both types of flowers in one frame (but currently, there are only buds and no flowers yet).
Realise the contrast of Tokyo

From up here, you can see Tokyo in a way that few others ever will - a city that is constantly evolving and transforming, yet always retaining its unique character and charm.⚙️
And as you take in the view, you realize that Tokyo is a city of contrasts - where the ancient coexists with the modern👺, and where nature and technology seamlessly blend together. From the lush greenery of its parks to the towering skyscrapers that define its skyline, Tokyo is a city that never ceases to amaze.🏙️

【Lake Kawaguchi Mount Fuji】3-day 2-night itinerary.
#Japanese Attractions
If you come to Lake Kawaguchi, you must come to see Mount Fuji! However, Mount Fuji is subject to the whims of the weather and cannot be forced 🥹, so everyone should be prepared for changes in their itinerary at any time! When the weather is good, try to visit the scenic spots 🗻 because Mount Fuji may hide at any time.
It is better to arrange your itinerary to visit the attractions in the morning. Firstly, there are fewer people, and secondly, the winter sunset is too early. After 3 pm check-in, stay at the hotel 🏨 and enjoy the scenery slowly. If you stay at a hot spring hotel, you can also soak in the hot spring ♨️.
