A whole new world from the daytime. The most magical wisteria illuminations✨ ~Kyushaku Wisteria x Wisteria Tunnel~ A special wisteria spot you must visit at night: The "Kyushaku Wisteria" at Byakugou-ji Temple. When illuminated, the long, cascading wisteria vines emerge from the darkness, creating a magical scene that looks just like a curtain of light. The sight of the longest flower clusters (up to approx. 120cm) gently swaying is a masterpiece, and you can enjoy a completely different, "mature vibe" compared to the daytime. The illuminations run from around 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM. And the other spot, a famous wisteria destination highly recommended for the daytime: Shirai Ohmachi Fuji Park. The highlight here is the sheer scale of the approx. 500-meter-long wisteria trellis, where you can experience the feeling of being completely enveloped by wisteria in the bright daylight. There might be a collaboration with carp streamers (koinobori) again this year! If you want a comfortable and uncrowded travel experience in Kansai, consider exploring Hyogo, also part of the Kansai region. Tamba City in central Hyogo Prefecture holds many surprises. Visit Kogenji Temple to admire the autumn leaves; this ancient temple, founded in 1325, is a famous spot for maple viewing in Hyogo. During the viewing season, fiery red maple leaves adorn the entire mountain, with temple halls and pavilions scattered throughout, exuding a strong historical charm. The uniquely designed mountain gate is a must-visit photo spot. The founding Zen master of the temple brought maple trees from Tianmu Mountain in Hangzhou, planting them around the temple. These are called Tianmu maples, characterized by small leaves and slender, drooping branches. The viewing period usually starts in mid to late October when the leaves begin to turn red, reaching full red color across the mountain in early to mid-November. The temple is open from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM (8:00 AM to 4:30 PM from April to September). The address is 514 Hikura, Aogaki-cho, Tamba City. Come to Hyogo and enjoy a unique travel experience!

This is Amago Village. The address is 898 Daimyōsō, Aogaki-chō, Tamba City, Hyogo Prefecture. You can experience catching amago fish by hand. Currently, the entrance fee is 500 yen. Rainbow trout fishing is also available; the entrance fee for that is 500 yen and includes one fishing rod. Opening hours are from 11:30 AM to 3:00 PM (until 4:00 PM on weekends). I went on a tour this time, so I don't know the exact price, but I think it was the Amago Satisfaction Set Course. The Amago Satisfaction Set Course is 5060 yen (tax included). I'm not particularly fond of fish, but the freshly grilled amago was delicious, and the freshly fried amago and rice were also excellent.
