And amongst the highlight of this region is Archaeological area of Saepinum, close to the border with Campania and the Matese Regional Park. One of the best-preserved archaeological sites in Italy, Saepinum was founded by the Romans and has a wide range of artefacts from the period. The landscape of Molise is typically hills and valleys which draws hiking enthusiasts. I was put up in the seaside town of Tremboli which was a good balance of things. Termoli Borgo Antico only had half an hour to stroll through the old town, but it was still stunning. I discovered that Termoli is the only big stop among the five villages that has a beach and luxury hotels, but it still has such a charming old town. The little shops inside look very cute, and the black and white striped church is also very tasteful.
