🛶✨ Koh Kret trip, 2 days, 1 night
– Travel, eat, and play, all within a comfortable budget ✨🛶
This time, we opted for a leisurely trip to Koh Kret, focusing on eating, playing, and relaxing. Transportation costs weren't included, as everyone's preferences vary. However, once we arrived at the pier, the ferry crossed for only 8 baht, a shockingly low price! The wait for the ferry wasn't long, and the cool breeze was pleasant. We arrived on the island in no time.
📍 Accommodation – Baan Ya Homestay
We chose this place because of its warm riverside atmosphere and beautiful views, without any unnecessary decorations. Using our "We Travel Together" program, the price was 720 baht per night, which, divided between two, came to only 360 baht per person. Plus, they included free breakfast for two, and tea and coffee all day. It felt like staying at a kind relative's house.
🍽 Lunch on the first day – Uncle Daeng's Khao Chae Restaurant
We arrived just in time for lunch, so we decided to stop by here. Their signature dish is the small Khao Chae set for 100 baht. It was fragrant, cool, and refreshing, and packed with toppings. We ordered La Tiang (about 40 baht) and Khanom Jeen with Green Curry, which was incredibly delicious and rich. End with a refreshing fruit juice — a watermelon smoothie for 40 baht and a butterfly pea lemonade for 40 baht. Afterwards, I was recharged!
🎭 First Afternoon – Strolling around and doing activities
• Retro photoshoot for 30 baht each (with the costumes, it truly feels like a time warp)
• Portrait painting for 19 baht each. It was fun seeing my friends being cartooned.
• Clay sculpting workshop at Sahai Din for 300 baht per person. The teacher held hands and taught me from the spinning wheel to the fine details. It was so much fun. No one rushed me, so I could sculpt for as long as I wanted.
• Bought some traditional snacks and picked up some without realizing it. I spent 500 baht, but it was worth it because everything was delicious.
🍻 First Evening – Chilling by the River
Stopped by Wet Cafe for two cold craft beers (~260 baht) and watched the sunset with crispy French fries and some locally made food for around 50-60 baht per plate. The atmosphere was wonderful, perfect for a relaxing end to the day.
🌅 Second Morning – Wake up to a river view.
Finish your free breakfast at the homestay, then join a coffee roasting workshop at Khua Mue Coffee & Gallery for 220 baht per set. You get to roast, brew, and then enjoy your own coffee. So proud! 😆
💆♀️ Relaxing Massage
After a long day of walking yesterday, I decided to get a massage to relieve my aches and pains. It was 180 baht per hour, and I can tell you it was so satisfying. After the massage, my body felt like it had reset and I was ready to go again.
🌸 Before heading back – another round of food.
• Fried flowers (60 baht), crispy and uniquely fragrant.
• Delicious pork neck soup (40 baht per cup).
• Fried bamboo shoot fritters (30 baht).
• Fresh bamboo shoots (25 baht per bunch).
• Grandma's chili paste (25 baht per bag), a deliciously sweet and spicy flavor.
💸 Total budget for the entire trip was approximately 3,000 baht. Split between two, that's around 1,500 baht per person. We had food, games, relaxation, and souvenirs to take home.
📍Location: Koh Kret, Nonthaburi Province
