Exploring Vilnius: A City of History and Hidden Gems
#northerneurope
Visiting Vilnius was like uncovering a hidden treasure in the heart of the Baltics. I started in the old town, wandering through narrow cobblestone streets lined with colorful buildings, quaint cafés, and historic churches. The Vilnius Cathedral and its bell tower were stunning, offering both architectural beauty and a sense of the city’s deep history.
Climbing up to Gediminas’ Tower provided panoramic views over the city, with red rooftops stretching toward the Neris River. I also explored Užupis, a quirky neighborhood that felt like an independent art republic, full of street art, galleries, and creative energy.
Vilnius impressed me with its mix of medieval charm and modern culture. Every corner felt like a story waiting to be discovered, making it a perfect destination for both history lovers and curious travelers.
