Ameyokocho is a great place to stay. It's very convenient for food, clothing, housing, transportation, and entertainment. It's close to Ueno JR Station and Okachimachi Station. There's also the Okachimachi Yoshiike Main Store right outside of Okachimachi Station. The building is a shopping complex with the incredibly popular Uniqlo and GU stores. Nearby are tons of delicious snacks and a wealth of drugstore/snack shops where you can get a tax refund on purchases over 5,000 yen. It's easy to break the bank here! 🤣😭🤣 🎗️Must-try: 🏆Tonkazu Yamaya Fried Tonkatsu: This place is always packed. The air conditioning on the first floor is super strong, but the second floor doesn't seem to have any, so you need to use a small fan while eating. This affordable pork cutlet is worth a try. Salty Soy Milk with whitebait and pickled mustard greens Youtiao The salty soy milk has a mild soy milk flavor that is delicious. It was also nice to change the taste by adding chili oil on top. Youtiao is like Taiwanese fried bread, and I was curious so I tried it as a topping. When soaked in the salty soy milk, it absorbed well and was delicious. As expected from Japan’s Pokémon Center, not only is the selection of related merchandise abundant, but the prices are also very reasonable, fully satisfying our little fan’s shopping desires😍. They even shared their insight on why adults love to shop so much😆. There are many Pokémon branches in Tokyo, and we conveniently stopped by the Tokyo Station store, located inside Tokyo Character Street. When we couldn’t find the way, staff from other shops kindly guided us there. There are countless walls filled with plush toys on site, and all the popular Pokémon plushies are definitely available. There are also other products like various stationery, snacks, cookies, and figurines, so you won’t have trouble finding your favorite Pokémon merchandise! What I find most unique here is the urban tension of "science fiction alongside everyday life"—the Gundam models, Rainbow Bridge, and Miraikan during the day inspire imaginations of civilization’s progress, while the seaside park, homemade cosplay dolls, and open-air markets at night give this tech island a warm human touch.   Here, shopping centers and ocean waves are no longer separate; the Yurikamome light rail looks like a band of light, and the sea breeze under the bridge flows through the mall windows, seeming cold yet gentle. Odaiba is not just a city landmark floating on water but an era experiment where civilization and play, planning and chaos coexist. It reminds us that when humanity reclaims land, cities should also reinvent imagination.

I ordered the "Zukedon," and at the end, they provide hot fish soup to pour over the remaining rice, turning it into a Japanese-style porridge. So delicious, you'll want seconds! 🍲 (Pro tip: Get in line by 10 AM to avoid long waits.) 🚇 12:30 – Stroll around Harajuku / Omotesando / Cat Street These three areas are heaven for fashion enthusiasts, photographers, and cafe hoppers. • Start at Cat Street: A laid-back street with trendy clothing stores and unique cafes. • Move on to Omotesando: Super chic with stunning architecture that feels like Europe. • End at Takeshita Street in Harajuku: Full of Japanese teens, vibrant and fun vibes. I stopped by a cafe on Cat Street and snapped some photos with the soft sunlight filtering through the streets. Such a great vibe! 🌤️📷 🥩 16:00 – Dinner at Gyukatsu Motomura If you haven't tried "Gyukatsu" yet, you must! It's rare beef cutlet served for you to grill yourself on a hot plate. There’s a lively mix of locals and tourists, with vendors calling out, the smell of street food filling the air, and the colorful chaos of stalls lining the narrow walkway. It feels like you’re in the heart of Tokyo’s urban pulse, and I couldn’t wait to dive in. One of the best parts about Ameyoko is the street food. Everywhere you turn, there’s something tempting to try. We stopped by a stall selling freshly made pandayaki, a sweet, bear-shaped cake filled with red bean paste. It’s like a soft, fluffy version of taiyaki, and it’s just the right amount of sweet. The warm, gooey filling was a perfect treat to snack on as we wandered through the market. There were also plenty of other snacks that caught our attention. From the sizzling skewers of yakitori (grilled chicken) to the comforting aroma of takoyaki (octopus balls), Ameyoko really is a paradise for food lovers. One of my favorite finds was a stall selling crispy tempura, served fresh and hot. The batter was perfectly light and crunchy, making it impossible to resist grabbing a few pieces. As we meandered through the narrow lanes, we also stumbled upon some more unexpected treats—like mini omusubi rice balls wrapped in nori and filled with savory fillings like tuna or pickled plum. Simple but so satisfying, they were the perfect bite in between exploring the stalls. Of course, it’s not just about food.
