Mongolian pot is a traditional cooking style from Inner Mongolia, particularly in areas like Xilin Gol League. It is known for its layered ingredients and rich, savory flavors. During our trip to Duolun County in Xilin Gol, our group of three decided to give it a try. The restaurant is called Niuxiangsui Mongolian Pot. 📍Location: Shop 105, Mingdu Yipin, 110 meters from Duolun Nuoer Hotel. 🍂Environment: The restaurant has two floors; it is spacious, bright, clean, and tidy, with an open kitchen. Free parking is available at the entrance. 👩Service: The owner and staff are very welcoming. As soon as we walked in, they greeted us, showed us to our seats, and served Dianhong black tea, snacks, and four side dishes. These are just two of their four free offerings; tableware and Wuchang rice are also free. They also promise that "all ingredients in this restaurant have 0 additives, and we refuse to use pre-made dishes. We will pay a penalty of 100 times the value for any fake ingredients." Mongolian pot is similar to the copper hot pot we are familiar with, but it evolved from the traditional Mongolian lamb hot pot. We chose the small lamb spine and bone pot (2.5 jin) for 118 yuan, and added a vegetable platter for 25 yuan and a fresh and frozen tofu platter for 10 yuan. The three of us were stuffed, with a total bill of 153 yuan. 🍲Dishes: 1️⃣The ingredients are fresh, using fresh Wuzhumuqin beef and lamb. The meat is tender and has no gamey smell. The lamb spine and bones are stewed until soft and tender. Paired with vegetables, it is a balanced and satisfying meal. Eating meat in big bites really gives you a taste of the Mongolian spirit. Most healthy hot pot vegetables are 10 yuan per plate, which is very affordable. 2️⃣The pot base not only contains lamb spine and bones but also large chunks of white radish.
