From there, I walked uphill into the Upper Town, passing Stone Gate and the beautiful St. Mark’s Church along the way. My favorite part was Strossmayer Promenade. The tree-lined walkway has lovely views over the rooftops, and I found myself sitting beside the statue of poet Antun Gustav Matoš for a while, just watching the city below. I then discovered Grič Tunnel, a former wartime shelter running beneath the Upper Town. Walking through it felt completely different from the sunny streets above. Later, I escaped the center at Ribnjak Park, a peaceful green space just behind Zagreb Cathedral. I finished my day at Zrinjevac, enjoying the open lawns and old trees before heading back into town.
