Chimelong is an ocean resort theme park in Henqin 30 mins drive from central Zhuhai. There are several nearby hotels including the hugely impressive Chimelong hotel and some theme hotels like the penguin hotel and marine science hotel. This park is an amazing day out, maybe multiple days if it is busy and queues may take longer. There are several animal exhibits showing animals you might never have seen including dolphins, belugas, whale shark, brown bear, polar bear, Arctic wolf and fox, turtles, penguins and more. The whale shark exhibit is particularly impressive and the viewing area is truly spectacular. It has multiple world records for it's size. The park also has multiple theme park rides including a large rollercoaster with multiple loops. It's quite intense so maybe only suitable for rollercoaster fans. Most of the rides are aimed at families with kids. The park has two large water rides that are quite fun and will get you very wet. There are shows in the beluga and dolphin theatres that are really incredible. The animals are trained very well and the shows will impress you. Transportation Guide - It takes about two and a half hours to drive from Shenzhen or there are direct buses available in the park. Essential items - student ID, ID card, jacket, sunscreen, camera. It is recommended not to bring power banks, which can be borrowed in the campus. Hotel - I stayed at Chimelong Circus Hotel which was more affordable. All their hotels have many children's entertainment facilities designed for children. You can enter the Penguin Hotel half an hour in advance and see the fireworks show at the hotel swimming pool. Food and restaurants - There are several restaurants in the park. I recommend the Whale Shark Hall Undersea Restaurant where you can eat while watching whale sharks. There is also Xiaorong Dasheng Tea Restaurant, which is about 10 minutes' drive from the park. It is super economical and delicious. Getting There - Chimelong Ocean Kingdom is a water park and aquarium located in Hengqin, it’s 30km from Zhuhai downtown. Taking a taxi or a didi is very convenient and takes between 30-40 minutes. The park is really well equipped with rides, shows and the amazing aquarium. The park has the biggest tank in the world with 4 whale sharks in and its absolutely spectacular. Attractions - Hengqin is not only home to Chimelong Ocean Kingdom but it’s also bordering Macau. At night you can see Macau skylights. Chimelong has many shows during the day, the best show was the dolphin show and I would highly recommend it. They have a closing show daily starting at 19:30, make sure to get there a little earlier to have space to stand, the show consists of many fireworks and a jetski show, definitely not to be missed. Hotels - In the park itself they have hotels, otherwise Hengqin has many options and so does Zhuhai Food & Restaurants - In the park they have many restaurants. However when in Hengqin, go try some Italian food at Portofinos, it’s located next to Hengqin Central Mall , on the corner of Huandao East Road and Xiangjiang Road. #themeparks#summervacation
