A bit out of the way if you’re staying in Amboise but worth the 5 minute drive from city center. Our waiter was extremely friendly and the food was excellent. It was a very hot day so we started with a very cold beer that hit the spot perfectly.

Based on other reviews, this is a very famous restaurant in the town. The service is very good. I didn't have any extra change when I paid, so I didn't leave a tip. I'm so embarrassed. I hope this review can express my apology. This restaurant is very busy. It's full of locals. There was a constant stream of locals even very late. We were a little tired that day. The dishes are very delicate and the taste is quite special. Most people don't order cheese. The taste is mysterious. Hahahahaha

Desperado
Patisserie Bigot, a century-old shop. To avoid the coldness of the early morning in April, I plunged into this dessert shop in Amboise. I originally just wanted to buy a bread to fill my stomach, but after entering, I found that there was a different world inside, and there was also a street-facing room where you could eat, so I decided to take a rest here. I have to say that France is the kingdom of desserts. Even in this secluded town far away from Paris, the éclairs are relatively rough, but the taste is very good. Exquisite French desserts and a cup of hot and rich coffee, this is the morning with the strongest sense of satisfaction I have had recently. Later I found out that the small shop we accidentally entered was actually a century-old shop that started in 1913.

On arrival, a restaurant in a bland hotel on a roundabout under construction: not immediately promising. The amuse bouche soon laid any fears to rest, though: an excellent meal then followed. There is a chef in this kitchen with a real genius for textures and taste combinations. It matches or exceeds Michelin starred food I have eaten. Everything was delicious, and a few (the tonka bean dessert and the polenta cake with the guinea fowl) were stand-outs. Service was attentive. We had a wonderful lunch.

This was a wonderful discovery - delicious and sophisticated, locally produced food, served in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. And with an extremely reasonable bill at the end. What's not to like!
