Finally we went to The Ivy in the Lanes, Brighton📍⁣ ⁣ NIBBLES (forgot to take a pic as was v hungry)⁣ ⁣ ✨Truffle arancini⁣ Fried Arborio rice balls with truffle cheese.⁣ ⁣✨Zucchini fritti⁣ Crispy courgette fries with lemon, chilli and mint yoghurt.⁣ ⁣ I’m quite surprised as the service was actually not great for the first half of it which we’ve never had issues with before. It was chucking it down with rain and we had no where to put our soaking wet coats apart from on the seats with us. Favourite specialty coffee place in Budapest so far. Everything was spot on. Own light roasts extracted just right, hitting that sweetness spot. Didn’t have any food but the menu looked very attractive as well. cozy coffee/tea shop that has a small but great quality menu. The vibe was very comfortable and chill. I ordered a filtered coffee from Ethiopia (they had choices from Guatemala, Ethiopia, and El Salvador for coffee) and my friend had a white tea. We both enjoyed our selections. Amazing coffee. It was the right temperature and naturally sweet. If you are a coffee purist then you will love this place! No sugar signs pretty much everywhere, which is how coffee should be. @sticksnsushi.uk !!! Despite the weather this afternoon, I had the most delicious lunch. First time trying Sticks n Sushi and I can confirm, I will be back We had a lovely selection of dishes: Edamame beans Ebi bites Beef tataki Salmon sashimi Nanban uramaki Spicy tuna uramaki Picking a favourite was nearly impossible but I think I’d have to say the beef tataki. The flavour combinations were outstanding. The Ebi bites were also fantastic. The spicy tuna rolls could have had more spice in my opinion but a bit of wasabi on top did the trick. The service was also outstanding so shoutout to @sticksnsushi.uk Victoria staff! I also think for value for money here is really good. @sixbynico Finally getting round to posting my review of @sixbynicoliverpool cooking Shanghai. For those of you that have not yet dined with Six By Nico, it’s a one of a kind experience offering expansive and unique tasting menus at a more reasonable price point than similar experiences elsewhere. The menu includes 6 courses, an optional ‘snack’ and an equally impressive wine flight to accompany each dish. The menu was priced at £32pp for the 6 courses, £5 for the snack and £27pp for the wines. Snack: Prawn toast reinvented - the perfect start to an evening of Asian fusion. First course: Char Sui Pork Steamed Bun with the most wonderful soy vinaigrette. Second course: Dengzhou chicken - the pickled elements really lifted this dish. Third course: Mushrooms - an insanely intense flavour to this dish. Fourth course: Cod with peanut sauce - a delicate dish which was aptly timed with the wine flight beginning to kick as you can probably tell by the diminishing quality of these pics. Firth course: Beef with gyoza - probably my favourite dish of the evening with another perfectly concocted sauce. Sixth course: Matcha, raspberry and white chocolate. I’m not usually much of a dessert person but this dish well and truly converted me - light, refreshing and the perfect end of the meal. The wines were beautifully paired to each respective dish and the staff really made the experience one to remember. All in all we had a fantastic evening with Six By Nico and will no doubt be back to taste their new menus which they change every few weeks!
